LaserJet MFP m476dn: Laserjet m476dn toner cartridge life

The printer is about 16 months old and still on its original ink cartridges.  I bought this printer for his double-sided scanning - I use it a LOT.  Not so much for printing.  I have about 1200 B & W pages and 750 color until now.  I started to receive messages from "lower criticism" for my black cartridge to nearly 600 pages and my printer claims about 10% left my color cartridges to 750 pages, so expect these updates cautioned shortly.

I've been ignoring warnings that the printer now prints fine B & W for more than 600 pages.  My concern is that the cartridges are supposed to be good for 2700 pages!  Yes, "your mileage may vary", but this seems a little extreme.  Y at - it something on the cartridges of origin or the low relative use, which means this is should I wait or I do something wrong get such life low cartridge?

I got a B & W replacement cartridges (long version) and I'm about to get a spare set of color, but would like to know if I have a bigger problem or not before spending $300 for all.

Thanks in advance.

A few points:

  • Regarding the comment "your mileage may vary": toners performance figures (most? all?) manufacturers are based on specific ISO tests; the most simple tests (I think) assume average coverage of barely 5% of each page with a toner.
  • Regarding the "original cartridges": technical data seems to indicate that low-capacity starter cartridges are supplied with the device:

I installed a new hp for my Laserjet P1102 toner cartridge, but still get the message "install the black print cartridge"and the orange light blinks.  It worked fine until the toner ran out.  Have tried to reinstall the cartridge and you are using a compatible cartridge, without success.  Can I do, or do I have to repair the printer that appears to be a case to send far from a reconditioned unit?  I am disappointed that he didn't after intermittent use of less than 18 months. It was purchased as the reviews said it would be great for printing of volume, but I have not at this stage yet.

    Any ideas?

I had the same problem. Remove all paper from the tray. Make sure that no paper is started in the printer. I then replaced the toner cartridge and it was recognized. It seems that if the paper is launched to feed into the printer, then the new toner is not recognized.

  • HP Color Laserjet MFP m277 Pro: can I put my old toner cartridge to finish?

    I hope it's a simple question.

We changed the toner Cyan on the printer cartridge until it was over. There was a problem and we thought he meant that the cartridge is empty. The problem turned out to be something else. So now, I have a cartridge that is perhaps used three quarters and a new in printing.

Question: when the CURRENT one runs out, I can put the previous again in the printer to use, without causing any problems for the printer?

    Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can put a Toner Cartridge used back with no problem, the printer may indicate its levels of toner correctly, but it can be used without any problem.

  • Printing CB436A cartridge: Life of the Laserjet print cartridge

I just bought a HP Laserjet (36A or CB436a) print cartridge. In the box, there is a code (7L16M3BK) and a date (20100422). Before to open the box, I would like to know if this cartridge tonner is still ok for use. Seems to me that he is too old. Can I use it?

    Hi @Prof_Miranda ,

I read your post and see that you would like to know if the toner will always be good, even if the date is showing 20100422. I'd love to help you.

You should be able to continue to use the toner, if you have problems with it, contact HP.

  • How do I know what toner cartridge for HP Color Laserjet CP1215?

I have the HP Color Laserjet CP1215 printer. The vehicle currently has the following four toner cartridges.

    CB540A - black

    CB541A - Cyan

    CB542A - yellow

    CB543A - Magenta

Trying to find replacement for the printer cartridges, I see several different cartridges options, such as the CC531A, CC533A, 124, etc.. So my questions are?

    1. What are the different types of cartridge available for HP Color Laserjet CP1215?

    2. make the serial numbers indicare or say anything?

3 HP has a number where I can call and buy cartridges of.

The correct cartridges for your printer is located in the HP SureSupply Site.  You can also order on this site, in the United States there free shipping next day company.  It appears for your printer you should of 125A cartridges, your post numbers are compatible with those contained in the SureSupply site.

  • Quality of rpint HP Laserjet color faded to the right of the page, toner cartridge the culprit

    Thus, a resolute quirk.

My HP Laserjet 3800dtn produced pages in which the colors are washed out or did not go to the right margin.  Various associated software HP print diagnostic and diagnostics pages feel integrated, product pages with the same problem.  The colors on the right do not appear, but the black characters, text, graphic appears.

At first, I thought it was the length of the USB cable, so I went to an Ethernet connection and run all the tests again and got the same results.

So I took one of the toner cartridges and replaced by a new.  The same problem.  Then, and what a weird coincidence, I discovered that there are two somewhat 'heavy duty' springs on each side of the toner cartridge that works with the door (shadow) on the roller.   One of the springs was detached.  But it just not a not dislodge, because the position whereby the spring attached (a little nub) is broken.

My conclusion is that the door opened only partially, and therefore the toner is never properly transferred to one side.

Maybe I broke the node with some brutal manipulations, maybe a new one was defective, that it is I got two defective cartridges.

However, not wanting to throw a + $100 cartridge, I stuck the spring and post and allowed him to dry overnight.

Reinserted the fixed cartridge and everything of fine.

    Just sharing.

    An update more.

    Among the repaired 'bumps' failed.

So I heated a thin nail, and he passed through the plastic in the area where the 'essential' existed.

The, using fine wires, I threaded the wire through the hole of very small diameter and attached to spring for the plastic.

Yes, success... another cartridge saved from an ignominious early elimination.

Toner HP LaserJet Pro M252dw cartridge drawer does not retract.  The small blue drawer pull is out there is no way to open the drawer.  This flaw was not discovered until I needed toner, 5 months later - this printer was bought in January 2016 and worked well.  Now, it's just a big box of heavy using the space in my office.

  • "The HP LaserJet 1020 has the open front door or the toner cartridge is missing." Not true

I'm going to print something and the troublescreen said: The HP LaserJet 1020 has the open front door or the toner cartridge is missing. But the door is closed and the cartridge is fine. I put a new in after the message started appearing thinking that the low level of ink was casusing the change. I suspect a mechanical switch is kaput, but do not want to enter the machine. All the switches look and feel like they are working normally.

This little machine of love, it's a real workhorse, simple and effective.  I use a laptop Samsung with Windows 7 and my actions joint the printer using a Toshiba PC. We both get the same response from our little hp... todius

I will now let you know that we have done to resolve this.  My wife has stuck a pencil in the slot of reception for the closed cover pin located on the corner left front of the top cover. She shook it until she was able to close the lid and printing. He now works as it always has.

    Babe thank you... todius

  • Color LaserJet 2605dn: changing the toner cartridge guaranteed?

Can someone help me to replace what seems to be a faulty cartridge? I could find absolutely no information on how to do it on HP's Support website to the regular address.

Q6003A magenta toner cartridge prints very light. Looks pink instead of magenta. This is true even on the 'Page State supplies", which shows the level of toner to 74%: Pages printed with this power supply: 418; Rest of approximate Pages: 1189. I have 'shaken gently"the magenta cartridge without result, and I see no flaws on the drum. 'Cleaning' running mode did not help; He only printed black. The other three cartridges all show them a solid color, so I deduce that there is a problem with the magenta cartridge itself.

See below. The title and the area around it are supposed to be "Purple"; There should be a (not complete magenta) rose "2605dn" to the right of the printer "HP Color LaserJet.

Any suggestions as to how to get this replaced would be greatly appreciated.

You do not have a faulty cartridge, you have a dusty mirror in scanner Assembly laser.

You will find the instructions on how to disassemble the printer and clean the mirror through various sources online and probably even in the forums.

The index that identifies your problem is melted magenta from left to right.

If you decide to take the machine apart and clean the flat mirror handle cables very gently then reconnect the very carefully.

  • The LaserJet 8000 and 8100 share toner cartridges?

    Hey people.

I'm not at home, and I'm sure I have a LaserJet 8000, but everything I buy at HP are 8100 cartridges... Anyone know if they fit on both models? I got three bad cartridges to eBay, and I'm sick of it.

    Thank you!

I don't think they use the same toner cartridges.

    8000 uses: HP 09a C3909A

    8100 uses: HP 82 x C4182X

    I hope this helps.

  • Laser Jet MFP 125nw: Toner Cartridge

I just bought my printer a couple of days. The toner cartridge provided with my printer, no one knows how many sheets he's supposed to print until the vacuum? I didn't know if it's a trial size with a little ink or not!

    Thank you very much

    Hello @Hippie1422,

Thank you for showing your interest in the HP Forums! I see you want to know the page give to the toner of origin. I want to help you.

  • LaserJet 4: laserjet 4 - toner smears on the edge of the paper 3/8 "wide

Thanks in advance for your help. My trusty HP Laserjet 4 is a little sick.

I'm a smear of toner (not full black density, but rather a density of fairly uniform grey except for a dark gray line angle all 2 "in this band of 3/8") on the edge of each printed page, on the left side. It is 3/8 "wide.

When I remove the toner cartridge and pull backwards for drum making the visible green drum of the coverage, I see the toner on the edge of the drum so. I can wipe it with a non fluffy cloth and reinstall the cartridge and the problem persists even if the drum is not damaged or scratched anyway.

I just installed this new cartridge. However I bought on eBay. It was new, still sealed in the plastic bag, but I don't know how old he was. In reading my manual, I learned that a cartridge has a span of 2.5 years.

The cartridge would be too old and cause this problem, or is my oven goes wrong?

    All advice is appreciated.

It is easy to determine if it's the cartridge or fuser.

Put paper in the Tray 1 and print a test page. When the test page is almost completely in the pop of the printer, open the toner access door. Now to remove the toner cartridge and look at the page inside the printer and if you see the vice the cartridge is the problem.

Shelf life of cartridge is often longer than three years, but there are some old enough for this machine, cartridges of what you have said so far, it looks like you probably have a faulty cartridge.

  • LaserJet M451dn: Laserjet 451dn toner yellow bleeding at the edges

My Laserjet M451dn started bleeding yellow toner on the edges of the paper.  I ran a cleaning page and that it stopped for a short time and as but now he's back, it looked like already.  If I print the document in black and white it is not.  I have attached a picture of a scanned page.  It's worse that what looks like the picture as yellow does scan well.  Also, we used only the new HP cartridges in the printer.

    It's a defective toner cartridge.
