• LaserJet P1006: Printer does not print custom paper size (#6 3/4 envelope) correctly frome wordperfect

  I have an impossible to correctly print #6 3 / 4 envelope using WordPerfect X 7 (Version 17.0.0.366).
  I use a HP LaserJet P1006, with 10 Windows HOME 64-64-bit. I manually added the #6 3 / 4 paper size envelope in the box size Options paper preferably print and the Print Server preference box. A test page will print correctly, just like a #10 envelope. At #6 3 / 4 print attempt, impressions as if an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, with addresses in the lower let of the leaf, properly oriented.

  Swap the toner cartridge, the merger or the drum as a result.  A verticle like this issue is usually the result of a however bad toner cartridge.

• HP LaserJet P1006: Print quality

  I started to get a vertical low band and fuzzy print about 1/4 inch wide on a 8-1/2 X 11 sheet about two inches from the left edge of the printed sheet. The document that was not good. I replaced the toner (HP 85A) with a genuine HP toner cartridge cartridge. The same band is still present on a later printing.

  Others have been warned of the cleaner program. My WIN10 settings page devices, which is my HP printer; but there is nothing when I right click on the device. Is there a double-secret access to the vacuum cleaner for WIN10?

  Hi WNSitmanila,

  This is a problem with the imaging in the toner cartridge drum not be cleaned properly. You will need to install a new toner cartridge into the printer to solve this problem.

  Is the cartridges that you use a new OEM or revised one?

• HP LaserJet P1006 - print mailing labels

  I just got a new computer at work and it will not print my mailing labels.  If I create a word document and print it, it will be printed on paper for labels, but if the document is a model of language, I get a pop-up that telling me to insert the correct paper and click on 'go '. On my old computer I'd get this warning, but when I hit 'go' it would print.  Now the printer flashes red (as the work is underway), and then again, the pop-up appears telling me to reinsert the correct paper. I tried to change settings in the properties automatically expect paper for labels, but I get the same warnings.  Help, please! I need to solve this problem, because my colleagues will eventually have this same problem, because they all got new computers too.

  Thanks for your reply with all your troubleshooting efforts.

  I looked in the print mailing label little more and I would post the question on the Avery Help Center to see if they can provide a better answer. We determined that the printer will always print, so I don't think that the problem lies in the printing of mailing labels.

• HP LaserJet P1006

  Cannot print.  Download the paper for the error message jam & no ink cartridge.  There is no paper jam.  There is an ink cartridge that is full.  I unplugged my printer and taking my computer, waited a min or so plugged again.  Still getting red flashing on the printer and the same error message.

  After you install a HP LaserJet P1006 printer I can't complete the installation beyond the point of connection of the USB cable from the computer to the printer.  At this point, everything freezes up.

  From my HP LaserJet P1006 to connect to my wireless router's USB port. When I tried to print my computer went on the Net to download the printer driver. I tried to print again. I have received the print dialog box, choose the printer that was connected to my wireless router and clicked the button 'print '. HP printer app starts and indicates that the page has been completed but the printer just sitting there with no output and no error message on the computer either. The printer works fine when I print from my MacBok Air. What Miss me?

  What brand and model is the router?

  It sounds like the issue is isolated on a Mac system because it runs from the other.

  Reset the Mac printing system exactly as described in this document from Apple.

  Then, install the HPstar driver.  This package includes support for OS X 10.5.

  This should reset the printing system and remove any software that may be cause of conflict.

  I used to be able to print wireless from my macbook Pro (OSX 10.8.3) on my Laserjet P1006.

  I can still print if I connect via USB, but as soon as I unplug the window ' print and scan "says that my printer is offline.

  I was inbetween print jobs when printer suddenly stopped allowing my computer to print wireless.  There was nothing that I could see that he would set.

  I tried to stop (computer and printer, same wireless router) and turn it on again.

  I tried showing computer not to retain printer... then you reconnect with USB to recognize as good as new.  That did not work.

  I tried to follow the instructions for MAC and for this specific printer to a post someone else the fact, but the instructions meant to hit utility from the 'Open Print Queue' window and I did not have this option.  He also says to look for Hello, I don't ' have that option.

  I'm wiped out.

  Can you connected the pritner to a print server (a port on a router, etc.) in the past? specific model of said does not support any connection without using a USB key.

• LaserJet P1006 duplex printing manual

  I have a problem with manual duplex printing on the Laserjet P1006 running Windows Vista. I have multiple accounts configured in Windows. When I print using the account that installed the printer, everything works fine. When I try to print to another account, the prompt that asks you to click continue to print the 2nd side of the paper just has a button closure instead of a button to continue on the bottom. To confirm the problem, I uninstalled the printer and then reinstalled on another user account. Now, my account not manual duplex, but the other cannot. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

  Ah ha! I have a better workaround (at least for my situation; if all goes well it will help others too)

  At first, after reviewing the issue of original posters it dawned on me that if I could just install the driver as a normal user (not Admin) then it should work as long as I'm logged in as a normal user (I'm the only user on this computer). But unfortunately I don't have the ability to install unless I run as administrator, so no hope there.

  So here's the real solution (for XP users, at least): after installing the driver as an administrator, you must open the "Printers and faxes" window as an administrator. (There are a number of ways to do this. One way is to run Windows Explorer as administrator and then go to the desktop and on the side panel, there should be a link to the control panel. Open and then click on printers and faxes.)

  Now select the printer, right click and choose Properties, then select the Security tab. Under "group or user names", select everyone. In the permissions window, check all the buttons 'Allow', then press on apply. (While you're here, you might also click the "Device settings" tab and confirm that the checkbox "allow manual Duplexing" is checked.)

  For me, which did the trick.

  The advantage is that, before I was also not able to save any 'Print task Quick Sets' in printing preferences of dialogue (unless I was running as an administrator), but now I'm able to do the same.

• Set up the LaserJet P1006 on print server

  I'm trying to set up a HP LaserJet P1006 on a D-Link DP-300U print server.  I currently have a HP Photosmart 1315 on the same print server.  Implemented for the Photosmart was very easy (Setup program on the USB Port or parallel).  Now, I want to add the P1006.  When I try to install via system preferences, I am able to detect the print server and available USB port.  However, there is no driver listed P1006.  I tried to use the downloaded driver, but it does not work.  The installation program does not 'sees' the driver on the file.  If I connect the P1006 directly to my iMac, Setup goes very smoothy.  I prefer to use the printer on my home network.  (I need two printers on the network).

• LaserJet P1006: Our LaserJet P1006 returns to 'paused' immediately when you try to print.

  Have a MAC OS 10.6. Have used this Laserjet P1006 for 5 years. Used to have sometimes problems with him do not print but had a little routine we learned on-line that managed to do work again. Had not had a problem for about 2-3 years when he would not print a day last week. Tried the old scholarly routine online with no luck. Tried to remove and reinstall and had a devil of a time trying to get the MAC to recognize the HP computer. Finally fact, but if the job information screen says "ready to print", as soon as we try to print, it finds immediately "printer paused" and of course nothing happens. We are at our end, trying to get this thing to work. The printer self test came back ok when we ran, so he seems to be a problem in the connection. Does anyone have any ideas?   You can call HP directly, to see if they have a trade in option, which is an older model they might not have a job or upgrade available though. Given that the printer everything should be replaced for the port USB not working do not. There are now a few newer models out there, who would continue to work on 10.6. Just make sure that you check the system requirements first.

  LaserJet P1102w is similar to your model, has USB and wireless available.
