LaserJet Pro 8600: Laserjet Pro 8600 Plus vertical line on copies put through food

I read all the messages.  Seems to be a common problem.  I did cleaning and rebooting and it is now plugged directly into a wall outlet.  Still have this line.  Plan to unplug all night and give it one more try tomorrow.  If this does not work, I guess I have to try the factory reset if you could send it to me.  VERY frustrating!

The document here can help solve the black lines to scan using the ADF on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  From my experience this is almost always caused by a specification on the thin glass on the side left which is used for scanning using the ADF.  Cleaning of this area as described in the above document should solve the problem.  If the initial cleanup does not resolve the problem, it can help to shine a bright flashlight almost parallel to the glass.  For a line on the left side of the printed page, the place will be toward the front of the printer, if the line is on the right side of the document, it must correspond to a specification to the rear of the printer.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 black vertical lines of print when copying

I got a new of OfficeJet Pro 8600 a couple of weeks, and it worked fine until today, when I tried to copy something. I can always print from my pc and scan without problem, but when I try to copy a document (if I load it into the tray or put it on the scanner) the page comes out covered with black vertical lines of different sizes. It seems that this isn't the ink or the scanner since I can print from my pc and analysis very well.

    Help, please!

This unit is plugged into a wall outlet directly? If this isn't the case, then try to connect the unit to a wall outlet directly.

The 8600 Officejet Pro has built in the surge protector and double this feature may cause some problems.

Also, try to reset the printer hard:
    * Unplug the unit while the printer is on
Disconnect the other end of the power cable from the wall socket direct
    * Wait 30 seconds
    * Plug the unit to the top

Let me know if it helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a - vertical line using ADF

I have a problem with a black vertical line on the right side of scans/copies when I use the ADF. There is no problem if I use the Board.

There are a number of similar messages here and I tried all the solutions I could find including:

Cleaining each wheel and sproket I can find (several times)

    Clean the glass (several times)

Unplug the printer on, several minutes of waiting and reconnection (several times)

Unplug the unit as described above and by using a different wall outlet with any other equipment on the line

The pilot of uninstalling and reinstalling

Update the firmware to the lates version (March 21, 2013)

None of this works and I get the result below.  The one you have any other ideas?

    .

When you clean the glass, you did clean the small strip of glass on the left and the thin white on the top lid?  These are the sections of the scanner glass used by the ADF.

If so, then I have some information for a factory reset in the Officejet Pro 8600.  I will send this information to you in a private message.  Please read Bob_Headrick wire on the printer reset, found here, before you perform these steps.

    Hello @KR76,

I'd be happy to help you with your problem of copy on your OfficeJet Pro line 8600.

Basically, the line is created if any part of the scanner glass and the scanner cover fingerprints fingerprints, stains, lint, dust, or other debris or scratches. To resolve this problem, clean the ADF scanner glass Strip, the ADF white plastic band on the underside of the scanner cover, the underside of the scanner cover and the scanner glass. You need to repeat the cleaning several times to fix this.

The document that will guide you through the inspection and cleaning of these independent pieces would be; Vertical stripes, lines or streaks in the Copies, faxes, or scans.

    Take note of the following in the document;

Warning: Only use a glass cleaner to clean the scanner glass. Don't use of cleaners containing abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride. These substances can damage the printer. Avoid alcohol isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) because it can leave scratches on the glass.

Warning: To protect the scanner are not spray the glass product directly on the glass.

Please let me know if any of these steps has resolved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: Thin vertical lines when printing photos

The printer referenced did a fabulous job to print photographs.  In this case, the printer is fairly recent and has recently recently consumed the original cartridges when it was decided to try to use it for photo printing.  Therefore, the fabulous results were extracted relatively new cartridges and consisted of at least a dozen photo printing in various sizes.  Then all of a sudden these thin vertical straight lines began to appear in print.  They are equidistant on the full image.  That they appear in the printed image.  When using paper letter (8.5 x 11) to print an image cropped at 8 x 10 with landscape orientation spacing is about 1 1/8 (one and one-eighth) inches or 8 evenly spaced vertical lines.  Somewhat like the photo was divided into 8 columns.

According to the printer built in ink gauge, that the cartridges are now just a little more than half full.

These lines are narrow enough so that they are not very visible when printing on normal paper (copy).  They would probably be imperceptible on many kinds of printed documents.  However, they become quite noticeable and reprehensible when using good quality (in this case HP) photo paper to print photos.

Absence of a printer resolution is not good for photo printing.

In addition to the troubleshooting suggests that the problem is not due to the printer, but rather to the software used to perform the printing. It was not immediately obvious that I printed only photos using Picasa and it worked fine and then all of a sudden the problem developed. However, I have now tried to print the same photos with other software and there is no problem for the steps.

The Picasa forum also has many messages wanting to be the same or a similar problem to what I have experienced. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an explanation for a repeatable cause, nor a specific solution. Some hacking autour with the settings and options seems to be in order. If it does not then print with other software may be necessary.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 has vertical line from top to bottom after a copy or scanning via adf

Each copy or scan do using the automatic document feeder to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 a shows a vertical line from top to bottom left of each page. I have cleaned the printer at all parts of the feeder, - nothing dirty in fact found. When I copy or scan the glass plate there is no vertical line on paper.

Anyone have the same experience with this printer?

Usually if the scanner works on the dish, but product line in the scans from the ADF, it's because of something on the glass.  Have you tried to shine a flashlight down on the surface of the small approximately 1 in. piece of glass on the left side of the bucket?  This is the strip of glass used for the ADF.

Like trying to clean the white strip, located on the lid above the glass of the ADF, well clean to make sure there is no debris on the support that can cause this line appears.

    * Make sure that the printer is plugged into a direct socket, rather than a surge protector.  The 8500 has protection against overvoltages integrated in the device and an another surge in the circuit protector can sometimes cause lines.  However, usually this causes lines in both ADF and flatbed scans.

There is also a document provided by HP with the steps to troubleshoot issues when a line is present in the copies/scans.  The document can be accessed here.

    I hope this helps.

  • Smart photo printer all-in-one 7510 vertical lines on copies

When I have the paper source in the feeder to copy, copies made will have a vertical line to the bottom of the page.  When I scan to make a copy, copies do not have lines. Any suggestions?

There are a few things I would check if the Photosmart 7510 produces a line in scans/copies.

    (1) hard Reset of the printer

Unplug the unit when turned on

Disconnect the other end of the power cord from the wall jack directly

    * Wait 30 seconds

    * Plug the unit back to

    (2) make sure that the unit is plugged into a direct socket that the printer has built in the surge protector.

    (3) clean the glass flat on the printer to make sure there is no debris on the glass and the line.  For example, if the line appears with copies/scans from the ADF, then make sure to clean the small strip of glass used by the ADF found to the left of the main window.

Also, take a look at the steps in the document found here.  The document covers troubleshooting when the printer product lines/stripes in copies/scans.  Let me know how it goes.

    MazzaG

    Hi Mazzag, you are welcome.

Out of my experience, vertical lines may appear when you use the ADF are the result of any kind of dirt accumulated on the ADF scanner glass.

For some reason that I missed that part, that affect most of our question

    1. Raise the ADF mechanism.

  • Satellite Pro A210 - repeat vertical lines on the screen

I hope someone can help me.

I am a teacher and was bought by my school a Toshiba Satellite Pro A210 for me to do my school work and connect to a SMART board to teach with. Throughout its probably one of the best laptops I got through school. I got it two months.

There is only one problem with it. Its developed a rather weird problem. Occasionally, the screen suddenly freezes, and the display will be replaced by thin, alternating vertical black and white lines. The only way to get rid of them is to turn off the laptop and restart it (particularly annoying when it happened in the middle of a lesson when I've been respected by an OFSTEd Inspector!)

Technician computer school has no idea what is the cause. I was wondering if someone here might have some advice.

    Thanks in advance.

I ve the same laptop but I didn t receive similar lines on the screen.
What you could do is update the BIOS and the driver (if possible) display.

If the same problem happens again, you must connect an external monitor to the laptop.

Then check if the same lines appears on the external display. If so, then a problem of graphics card might be possible!
