LaserJet pro m252 dw: occasional spurious vertical lines

I create a pdf from latex file that includes a border color for the text box using the installation of "mdframed". In print preview, it looks fine, but when you print, some of the borders have a vertical line of the same color and the same width as the border on the left edge and right out of the box and the height of the box.

This only happens for some of the boxes, mainly those who are quite narrow.

PS This does not occur when printing b/w of same page toa HL 2040 brother

In response to my own question:

Other tests showed that this problem occurs when printing via PDF-Xchange Viewer, but NOT with SummatraPDF.

So it looks like an application problem not the printer.

I understand the frustration that this must be for you. Looks like there are two separate issues. When the printer clean print heads and not properly align itself, this indicates that there is a problem with the cartridge, the print head or the line break. For vertical lines, it is usually independent for cartridges and print heads (not being is not a print quality problem). The paper type and print settings might be the problem.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: Document feeder causing vertical lines in copying and scanning

When I copy or scan via the document feeder I get two vertical lines on the copy or scan.  How can I fix it?

Hello @aadmin, hope you are well!

Thank you for becoming a member of the HP Forum. It's a great place to get help from the community, to get suggestions and find what has worked for others.

I understand that you are facing problems while scanning / copying using the ADF. Please, try the following steps to resolve this problem.

    1. Make a blank copy using the ADF. Ideally, you should get a blank document with the two vertical lines.
    2. Keep the page out on your dish / the main scanner bed facing you.
    3. Follow the line or streak on the paper to the box on the ADF glass is the origin of the problem. Carefully clean the thin "strip of lid of scanner ADF white' and 'the band glass ADF Scanner' with a damp lint cloth.
    4. See the figure below. 3 is the glass Strip ADF & 2 is the white cover ADF scanner.

These measures should be the case, I would like to know the results.

    See you soon

  • HP Color Laserjet Pro M252 - not to print a PDF file

    Hey Adobe Forum,

I have a problem with a M252 Pro of Laserjet of color HP which will not print all PDF documents. When you try to print a PDF file, the document is idling to "print...". ».

    Information about the current configuration:

    1. the customer is on a Windows 7, 64-bit workstation.

    2. the pilot is the last on the site - HP Color Laseret M252 PCL6. I tried the PCL5, PS and HP universal printer drivers.

    3. the printer has been added as a local printer TCP/IP (10.45.157.31/24) and a shared printer from the server. The two did not work.

    4. the workstation has Adobe Reader X installed the latest updates. The upgrade of the revision to XI or higher version is not an option.

5 other files can be printed such as images and Microsoft Word documents.

    6. I tried setting Adobe for 'Print As Image '; It did make a difference.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

    Thank you

    Max

It turns out that, the question not print was the result of an incompatibility of duplex on the switch port to which it was connected. I tried an administrator account that does not correct the problem. Print jobs were still sitting in the queue up to 5 minutes after selecting printing. A PDF file passes finally after minutes of waiting, but was cancelled by users after assuming it was the slightest error / stuck.

When checking switch, there was a lot of duplex mismatch errors in newspapers. Double-sided printing has been on before auto however there may be problems with automatic duplex printing. I put the port 100 Mbit/s/full that if it is in offline mode. I put it at 10 Mbit/s/full and it came online and all problems solved.

    Thank you for your help.

    Max.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 more: 2 black vertical line when scanning only

I get 2 vertical black lines while scanning using the ADF. This does NOT happen when you use flat bed scanning. Also, this does not happen with copies in the ADF or flat bed - scan only using the car power.

Not an expert on your device, but if you look on the side of the adf, where the paper feeds, you open the lid to the scanner glass is displayed.  Now on the left side is where the adf feed above to scan paper is on the side left where there will be some dirt or material causing lines.  Usually, you can take the copy that came out and line up so you can see the dots making line.  Sometimes, you need to use your nails to kind of scratch material out of the glass.  I usually rub really hard with some windex first, and if that does not work, I line up the and scrape the residue out of the glass.  Again, it will be on the left side of the window in an inch on the left side.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 has vertical line from top to bottom after a copy or scanning via adf

Each copy or scan do using the automatic document feeder to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 a shows a vertical line from top to bottom left of each page. I have cleaned the printer at all parts of the feeder, - nothing dirty in fact found. When I copy or scan the glass plate there is no vertical line on paper.

Anyone have the same experience with this printer?

Usually if the scanner works on the dish, but product line in the scans from the ADF, it's because of something on the glass.  Have you tried to shine a flashlight down on the surface of the small approximately 1 in. piece of glass on the left side of the bucket?  This is the strip of glass used for the ADF.

Like trying to clean the white strip, located on the lid above the glass of the ADF, well clean to make sure there is no debris on the support that can cause this line appears.

    * Make sure that the printer is plugged into a direct socket, rather than a surge protector.  The 8500 has protection against overvoltages integrated in the device and an another surge in the circuit protector can sometimes cause lines.  However, usually this causes lines in both ADF and flatbed scans.

There is also a document provided by HP with the steps to troubleshoot issues when a line is present in the copies/scans.  The document can be accessed here.

    I hope this helps.

  • LaserJet Pro M252dw: Paper heavy weight causes ghositng

Our M252dw printer has ghosting (light versions of the printed item) each time we use card stock or labels. The same element of printing on plain paper shows no ghost image. Is there a way to adjust to big stock on this printer or another way to stop the remanence? The user must be able to print on thick, and I do not think that it exceeds the upper limit that I saw mentioned in some of the answers in the forum. If there is no way to adjust for thicker paper is a different model that will allow the adjustment of thicker stock?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more black vertical line when copy or scan

HP Officejet Pro 8600 more black vertical line when copy or scan everything in the middle of the page

    Hi Clementstl,

I understand that you have a 8600 Pro Officejet which puts a black vertical line in the center of your copies/scans. I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with this, but I will certainly do my best to help you solve this problem.

I recommend the rest of this document of vertical stripes, lines or streaks in the Copies, faxes or Scans as it should be in a position to help to cross that line. The most common cause is a small spot of something on the glass of the scanner, so just make sure that when you're cleaning use you as much elbow grease you can collect

Just to clarify a little further, if the problem only seems to occur when you use the automatic document feeder, you'll want to focus your attention on the small strip of glass that he uses on the left side. If it only occurs when you use the flat glass, you want to concentrate on the large piece of glass he uses.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 black printing/copying has vertical lines on the page. The color is fine.

HP Officejet Pro 8600.  at 2 weeks.

    Windows XP

Color copies/prints are very good.  Black prints/copies have vertical lines widths, ranging from top to bottom.  This occurs when it is copied to form glass or through the feeder.

    Suggestions?

If the unit is producing lines in copies, so I suggest checking a few things. Make sure that the printer is plugged into a wall outlet directly and not in a surge protector. Additionally, make sure that the glass of the scanner (including the small strip on the left) are clean.

Also, see the steps in the document troubleshooting located here.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: vertical line when scanning

I get a vertical line when I scan using the document feeder.  I do not understand when scanning the glass plate. I need assistance to access the mirror slider.  I raised the lid for the loading of documents, but I couldn't find out how to get under the rollers to clean the mirror. Thank you

The document here can help solve the black lines to scan using the ADF on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  From my experience this is almost always caused by a specification on the thin glass on the side left which is used for scanning using the ADF.  Cleaning of this area as described in the above document should solve the problem.  If the initial cleanup does not resolve the problem, it can help to shine a bright flashlight almost parallel to the glass.  For a line on the left side of the printed page, the place will be toward the front of the printer, if the line is on the right side of the document, it must correspond to a specification to the rear of the printer.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 black vertical lines of print when copying

I got a new of OfficeJet Pro 8600 a couple of weeks, and it worked fine until today, when I tried to copy something. I can always print from my pc and scan without problem, but when I try to copy a document (if I load it into the tray or put it on the scanner) the page comes out covered with black vertical lines of different sizes. It seems that this isn't the ink or the scanner since I can print from my pc and analysis very well.

    Help, please!

This unit is plugged into a wall outlet directly? If this isn't the case, then try to connect the unit to a wall outlet directly.

The 8600 Officejet Pro has built in the surge protector and double this feature may cause some problems.

Also, try to reset the printer hard:
    * Unplug the unit while the printer is on
Disconnect the other end of the power cable from the wall socket direct
    * Wait 30 seconds
    * Plug the unit to the top

Let me know if it helps.
