Laserjetpro m252dw: printer says network cable unplugged when plugged into a wall outlet

My printer worked fine and all of a sudden, he is no longer prints and the display shows: "network cable unplugged".

I turned off the printer, it is plugged. Does the same thing for the modem and the router. The problem is not resolved. Help, please

Hi @Kajosil,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to print because of this "unplugged network cable" error message on your HP LaserJet Pro M252dw Color printer. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

It seems that the printer does not have enough power to work properly, or there is a problem with the cable/port.

  • Please click here to update the firmware of the printer.

Make sure that the ethernet cable is connected to the appropriate port on the back of the printer.
See the section: 'Return product view' in the user manual for more information.

  • Have you tried another port on the router?
  • Have you tried another ethernet cable?
  • Check if the cable is damaged or deformed.

If the problem persists, I would like to do a hard reset and electric drain to see if this will solve the problem.

  • To eliminate other causes, unplug the USB cable or telephone (fax) for the test so attached.
  1. Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electric load and then release the power button.
  3. Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
  4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector).
  5. Try another outlet to power/room.
  6. Try a different compatible power cable.

If the problem persists, I would try resetting the NVRAM. This will outline the printer back to the default settings. The network must be configured again. I can send you this information in a private message. In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

I hope this information is useful. Please reply to this message with the results. Good luck!

  • Network cable unplugged, the Panel grey adapter after removal of Fusion to a new mac

    I can't "solve this problem.

A couple of months, I moved to a new iMac (end 2013) and the network in Fusion stopped working.

Windows (XP) says: "network cable unplugged".

Merge network adapter control says it has allowed (part that my mac is turned on), but the Panel is disabled, grayed out.

I tried to change to full NAT, but mothing changed.

Since then I upgraded Fusion 6 an update of version minor and improved Fusion 7, but the problem is still there.

In the knowledge base, I found something similar, called other products VMWare, who suggested that the problem might be in the configuration of the network of Mac, but I am not sure where; and, in any case, S.O. and configuration and even got on the older iMac, where everything worked fine.

I'm quite often connected to a VNC using Tunnelblick, but I tried to turn it off and the problem is still there. (And even once, on the old Mac it worked great even through VNC).

    Any suggestion?

After asking the VMWare Support they suggested merge to uninstall and reinstall from scratch. It worked.

  • A cable is not plugged into the network adapter 'connection to the Local network.

Hi, I am using a Dell Inspiron E1505... OS: Vista... 32 bit... IE 9... I still use dial-up "Conexant HDA D110 MDC V.92 Modem" connection connected to the internet without any problem... the problem is when I asked someone to download a program "MS Office Home Student & 2010"(acheté le logiciel àle staples)... the person downloading the program via an Ethernet connection on my laptop... "." I never use the Ethernet connection to connect to the internet... Open to the top of my "Network connections" window and noticed my 'connection to the local network' has a red X and says "network cable unplugged"....." "" Broadcom 440 x 10/100 integrated controller. My toolbar in the bottom right of the screen displays an icon of two monitors with a red x as... I have made several attempts to fix using the "Microsoft fix - it Center... didn't help me..." also "diagnose and repair" on my laptop... no positive results... In the window "Network & sharing" "also shows a red X... Please advise... Best regards, John

    Hello

Reading between the lines a bit here, it is my understanding...

    1. Never use Ethernet, probably because you don't have broadband for some reason any?
    2. Due to the size of the download, you asked someone else to do it with no broadband?
    3. As a result, which is two screens with a red X icon, but never used to be there?

This icon with the red X is only informative. If you do not use Ethernet then you won't have connected cable, which means that the information you see on "network cable is unplugged" is correct. If you don't like this icon, you can hide...

    • Right-click on an empty part of the taskbar, and then click Properties
    • Click the Notification area
    • You will see a check box for the network, there uncheck and then click OK to hide the icon
    • Reverse this process, if you want to display the icon

Or is your problem you can connect is no longer with dial upward? If this is the case...

    • Click Start, type inetcpl.cpl and press enter
    • Click the Connections tab
    • 'Never make a connection' values? If this is the case, always select "default connection" (or "Number using whenever a network connection is not present")
    • Click OK

  • Photosmart ePrint c410 lights when plugged into power outlets

I bought a Photosmart printer c410 to connect my iPad with AirPrint. It would not install when it is plugged into my ups, so hp recommended I have install plugged into a different wall jack instead. I did it and it installed fine. Then I went to the inverter and it worked fine for about a month - until today. The printer has been cut (suspended), so I turned it off. It will not turn on. He just did a sort of cycle, followed by chimes and then sitting there, no lights - nothing. I'm reminded of installation problems, so I unplugged and moved to a direct outlet:-NOTHING.

So I called hp and got Mitch. He was extremely helpful and had another printer on its way at the time, wherever we were finished.

Then I decided to move the printer in our kitchen and try the printer on our island. Presto... the thing came right to the top, like a champ. So I called back to hp and canceled the replacement printer, because I didn't want to ship back to them that looked like it was working. Knowing that I didn't have the printer in our kitchen, I decided to try a different power outlet that might work. I tried every point of sale in the den and one in the dining room. They all did not work. I unhooked the printer in my basement and connected to the Jack down here. Yes!

I have to be able to run this printer from a power outlet normal on the ground floor of my house.

Someone at - he heard of this? I would return the printer?

It turns out that HP had already sent a replacement printer.  What service!  I had the new printer, followed the very simple instructions and installed.  Works like a charm.  Original is packed and ready to go back to HP.  It is definitely a logic of power sophisticated on the motherboard of this printer.  A new comes straight up into a wall outlet.  I'll definitely keep it out of my UPS.

  • Startup gets "Network cable unplugged" on (new) wireless mini-PCI card

Repost in the previous topic was locked, but has not been resolved. Original post below, please see previous post for more details

I recently installed a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and now have intermittent problems connecting my Tecra 9100. If the 9100 has been off for awhile (like overnight), when I restart I get always "Network cable unplugged" for the wireless connection. Reboot several times (anything from 3 upwards) I finally get connected to the router and everything then works fine for hours. Even a quick restart at this point (that is, once that the wireless adapter is connected) does not cause a problem, but as soon as I leave the stop of the machine during a time he fails again on restart.

There are no errors in the event log.

I am using wireless mini-PCI cards and have already updated to the latest version of the driver.

Any ideas gratefully received, for now every morning is a 20 to 30 minutes of rebooting frustration trying to get my connection work.

    (Running Win2K professional)

    Hello

I have the same problem if I stand for laptop and access point at the same time. If the access point is already in use, the connection is established shortly after. First the access point must establish a connection to the modem. Now the wireless connection is not available.

I guess after the second reboot, the connection between the AP and the modem is already finished and you can use the network wireless successfully.

    Good bye

    Hello

As far as I know, the unplugged network cable message just for LAN (Local Area connection-LAN) and not wireless.

If you want to check this map to disable LAN in Device Manager. After starting the laptop turn on the wireless card, check the status using the FN + F8 key combination. Wi - Fi is activated after a short time, you should be able to use your wireless network.

You can enable the option Show icon in notification area when connected. You can find it in the properties of wireless under the general tab.

  • network printer old now not recognized when plugged as local printer (USB)

Have a printer all-in-one Canon MX330 which was connected through networks of my PC Windows XP Dell Dimension.  Now, however, I just want that he plugged on the USB local port, but when I do that XP is not pop - up dialogue "New hardware found", is not 'install' from the printer and does not add it to my list of printers.  The printer and the USB cable work fine when plugged into my Mac.

I deleted the printer in the printer/fax list, so it does not appear there more.  And when I try to install manually (which I don't like), it will not print anything.

Is there somewhere else I need to remove the printer? Is there a conflict with his definition of network printer? And, it is a very stupid question, but when I install manually, should I select LPT1 or USB01 as the location of the local printer?  Seems logical, it would be USB01, but it does not work (here again, or not LPT1).

Completely uninstall and reinstall following the instructions here .

The network port is the port on the laptop (it is not that large - look around) that looks like a large phone connection.

You have a router/network to connect to and a cable network to connect with?

    Hello

'Local Area Connection network cable Unplugged' is a message that applies only if you use an Ethernet cable to connect to the router.

See the documentation for your wireless adapter to find out how to connect wireless. Or number of the brand and the model this adpater for additional help.

  • A network cable is not plugged in correctly or may be broken?

My internet works fine sometimes but then sometimes it doesn't. And when I troubleshoot it say "a network cable is not plugged in correctly or may be broken. No idea what's wrong? Also all my other devices are fine, that only this laptop seems to have this disorder

What is the make and model of your router?

The problem occurs when you are in the same room as your router... or when there are several rooms by far?

Problem could be caused by interference with wireless networks your neighbor's wireless.

If you are comfortable setting in your router Wireless Setup, sign up for your router and change the channel. Use channels 1, 6 or 11.

If you are looking for this word: inssider
you will find a site that offers a free utility (inSSIDer for home) that can be installed on your computer in Windows 7 (there is also a version for Android... If you have an Android mobile phone.) With inSSIDer, you can see a graphical representation of all the signals of wireless networks in your location (that is, to the location of the device that is running inSSIDer) and which channel they use. You will see your wireless network (its force and channel), and if there are other nearby wireless networks on the same channel (and what are their strengths).

inSSIDer can help you to choose a channel that has the least number of other wireless networks. But if you do want to use it, you can simply configure your router to use a different channel (different than he's using now) and see if that helps. You need not what whether for your laptop... just change the channel number of your router's wireless network.

If you are able to change your router's wireless channel, then first of all sit in the same room as your router (as close to him as possible) and see if the problem occurs. Even if you encounter interference from your neighbor's wireless networks, when you are sitting next to your router... its signal should be strong enough to overcome any interference. So, if the problem still occurs when you're sitting next to the router, then change them channels most likely will not help (but if the problem goes away when you're sitting next to the router, then change them channels could help).

Another thing to try is using your laptop on a wireless network (network of a friend, a public network, etc.). If the problem occurs when you use another network (and more sitting next to the router as you can), then change the channel will probably not help (but if problem disappears, could help to change the channel).

There are a few other settings, you can try on your router, but first try the suggestions above to see if they help.

It is Windows 8, and after troubleshooting the message said "a network cable is not plugged in correctly or maybe be broken"-the question being cable, any other device in the House has this question, just my laptop. It seems that it is a common problem with Windows, but no one can give me a solution Windows 8!

    Hi all

In the end, I found a disk in the box that my laptop came with drivers of wireless internet and after that download it seems to work very well - my bad.
It is certainly a driver problem, but if anyone of you has a chance of MSI laptops, this site is easy to navigate and I had no idea what driver to install, it's a list of numbers and letters.
Thank you very much for this forum, you are on the form! I got a response very quickly.
