Last imported files are not in Lightroom 6 - unless I have Lightroom start by entering the memory card into the reader

I encountered this problem a few times. Earlier I see the pattern more clearly, so that I can report.

I imported a large number of files of several memory cards. The files are added to several files in my Windows - using Lightrooms import directory.

After that, I made some sort / rating / editing etc. - a lot of work.

Everything seems to be.

But when I start then Lightroom newer forlders aren't in the LR catalog - records are not presented for me, the last import appears as an greater import at all at the time.

New files are always hard disk - but seems to be "forgotten" by Lightroom - and all my editing etc seems to be lost!

Only if I start Lightroom by entering the memory card in the card reader, which automatically start Lightroom, I can see the files and my new editing work in Lightroom.

I tried several times with or without the memory card. The boss agrees.

I checked: no data was written on the card during the import or change, so I don't understand about the effect of the memory card.

I need help to understand and solve this problem.

Your show screen says 5 Lightroom but your post title says Lightroom 6.  You have both installed?  Perhaps the fault is opened.  You show also 197 missing pictures. Just right-click one of them and don't 'Show in Explorer.

The D610 was first supported by Lightroom 5.3.

You will have to pay to

    1. Lightroom 6 upgrade, or
    2. Join the cloud, or
    3. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all the D610 Raw files to DNG, and then edit the DNG in Lightroom 4.4

Difficulty of the corrupted Nikon NEF Images

In the future, I strongly suggest that you just use Lightroom to import your images. It works well. There is no need whatsoever to use Nikon Transfer. Is there any reason not to use.

No problem with Nikon Transfer, providing you up-to-date on a regular basis. It is part of NikonViewNX2 which is regularly updated to include new Nikon cameras. Update of Nikon will notify you of new updates. I use to transfer files nave of cameras D70, D100, D200, D300, D3, D700, D7000, D7100, D800 and D800E as I had them for years. I like it because it of fast, allows me to include copyright data and profile data he copies, and it will also rename it if you wish. They are then ready to be imported into LR.

My advice is NEVER use the import of LRs. IME process it has never worked well, even when the update.

    Questions 1)

Not because the LRDATA file is fair previews, what LR displays on your screen for a faster loading of the image and will be recreated. The previews only stored in the folder LRDATA is the basic overview created at time of importation for the display of thumbnails and previews of 1:1 for images that you have actually looked in the Loupe View or I guess that appears in the develop module.

He get all the data to create the image themselves file extracts.

If you have several files on your system that have pictures in them and you select one of them that you have not looked at in a while, you will notice LR creation of previews for these images, there will be 3 white dots in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. It's LR creation of previews for the thumbnail view. If you scroll quickly in the grid view, you'll notice a few thumbnails of images are gray, until you stop scrolling, then the upper left tile will come in clear view and the white dots will appear on the other images. It's LR creating previews for those of other images. Once LR created the preview of thumbnails that are on your screen, white spot will disappear. If you scroll down again, you will see more white dots

If you switch to another folder that LR begins again create preview images in this folder. The total number of previews created and stored based on caching of the preview you have in the catalog settings dialog in the management of the files tab.

If not, you need not the LR Previews.lrdata folder. Whenever LR is not very good this folder with a catalog he recreates it to store previews in.

    Hi Bobsirkus,

The camera you have is compatible with the latest version of Lightroom, which is Lightroom 6/CC.

Please see the list of the camera supported by Lightroom: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

You can use the DNG Converter, converts images and then import them into DNG in Lightroom.

  • Imported files LR not visible

Need help... using lightroom CC2015.  I imported some files raw, a few days ago. Has made some changes today and exported to a subdirectory of the main files called "lively." The files are not on my hard drive that subdirectory... and now they are not visible in LR either.  I tried to re - import (not happy with it after spending 2 hours editing), and I don't see that dimmed by images with the message that they are duplicates of files already in my catalog. I rebooted and restarted everything... no difference.  Argggg! Can anyone help?

Your originals disappeared from Lightroom? This is probably not the case. Look at your article "all photos" to see if they're really gone. The fact that it gray images on trying to import them again means they are really in your catalog. Probably just not looking in the right place. What have you selected when you originally imported for what to do with the files? Lightroom may have moved or copied to a different folder where you had them according to what you have chosen in the import dialog box. When you find them in your catalogue, control or right click on one of the images and select "Show in Finder/show in Explorer" to show you where are the files that it uses.

  • .exe files are not open; affected by the Windows Security Center of lazy virus

    Hello!

As the title indicates, none of my executables will open his; on the contrary, when I click on an icon or similar function (as in the start menu), I'm inclined to the screen 'open with... ». I noticed that most often, if I run the program as administrator, it is likely to work without having to manually find the file - still a bit tedious however.

I'm assuming that since I was recently hit by the virus which is a fake Windows Security Center, something my registry has also been hit (take into account the fact that I'm not savvy computer in the slightest). It happened on my user account initial and rather than take action on the right, then, I decided that I would use the other account that I had to install a program better anti-virus (Norton provided ISP) than the one I had been using (the two admin). At that point, I had finished all my activity moved to the new account and it worked very well until the virus had one possessing this account as well - delete on the first user account seemed to have deleted only the effects of my account but still affected everything I did after that. This time, I went and deleted all accounts and checked to ensure that it is not at all. After getting rid of the virus, it's the same thing: none of my .exe files will open without using the monitor "open with...". ». I'm not really sure what action to take from here, I have not done much to remedy the situation, and I'm going right through the screen of "open with...". "to get to what whatever - so any suggestions or help would be very appreciated.

    Keypoints:

    • .exe files are not open (However, in some cases, the "Run as Administrator" option overrides it)
    • recently hit with (deleted) and fake Windows Security Center virus ; That's when the .exe is no longer
    • is not much in terms of addressing this problem, do not know what to do with regard to the question of if my situation calls for something specific

I tried to cover everything that seemed important to address; However, if there is more need information, let me know. I am about average in terms of computer navigation and therefore my understanding of what many of these commands, functions and files is a bit Basic.

    Thank you! :)

Thanks for the very comprehensive post. Run the Doug Knox fix (that isn't a .exe that you can do this).

  • All my files are set to read-only. The files are not.

All records are all my disks are set to read-only. This includes my drive c, d Bank, e-reader and my backup drive.

The files contained in these files are not read-only. How I found out about it, was that I tried to copy / paste a file from one directory to another last night and it was not authorized. Please keep in mind that I am logged on as administrator. There is only one user, me.

I ran a recent analysis of spyware, virus scan and checked the permissions of users. I unchecked the read-only installation and reset my pc and it still comes up read-only.

    This causes a major problem.

    Hi kadesigns,
