Latest updates of Windows for Nvidia 9500 gt, causing problems
I have a Nvidia 9500 GT vidocard in my pc running Windows 64-bit edition and do not use the pc for gaming.
All stable and fine until the batch of updates from windows in March.
I installed all the updates (major & optional); the optional updates included a large for Nvidia.
the pc then started freezing whenever I closed Firefox or IE.
Tried the following, but without success:
(a) Firefox reset
(point) - did not work!
(c) push dirver; didn't work...
The situation recovered by retrieving the Acronis backup January State system.
In the face of the long list of windows updates, I installed only the important windows ones and the optionals left, including NVIDIA.
Everything is stable throughout the rest of the month of March and until this week.
Monday 8 I got Acronis backup of what had been the stable system.
Tuesday, last batch of updates has arrived and I installed all the more important. Creating restore point and installed separately all the accessories (including the NVIDIA), creating another restore point.
No prize for guessing that freezing after closing Firefox or IE started!
Tried a), b) and c) above again, all without success, and finally allowed to restore pc Monday using Acronis.
When I checked then windows updates, NVidia is now shown as important (not an option).
I installed all the updates (except Nvidia) and ok at the moment.
I'm tempted to follow "if it isn't broken, don't fix it approach" by ignoring the Nvidia Important Update.
Are there reasons why this should cause me problems?
Is it possible to hide this update Nvidia Important so that I can't install it inadvertently with the next batch of updates Windows Important?
Thanks for the info about the system restore. I hope that the system remains stable and that I won't have to see if safe mode system restore work - fingers crossed.
Would appreciate your comments on my approach to ignore "NVidia Important Update" in my opinion, is the problem cause and hide in Windows Update.

This problem occurs when the agent Windows Update Wups2.dll file is incorrectly registered in the registry. Because registry files that correspond to the Wups2.dll file are missing, update facilities have failed. There are two methods to resolve this issue, use method 1 first, and if it did not resolve your issue, go to method 2
Method 1: Save the Windows Update files
1. click Start and type notepad in the box start the search .
2. click on Notepad in the programs list.
3. copy the following commands, and then paste them into the opened Notepad window:
REGSVR32 WUPS2. DLL/S
REGSVR32 STINKS. DLL/S
REGSVR32 WUAUENG. DLL/S
REGSVR32 WUAPI. DLL/S
REGSVR32 WUCLTUX. DLL/S
REGSVR32 WUWEBV. DLL/S
REGSVR32 JSCRIPT. DLL/S
REGSVR32 MSXML3. DLL/S1. in Notepad, on the file menu, click on record under .
2. in the list record under , click all files .
3. in the file name box, type register.bat .
4. save the Register.bat file to your desktop.
5 right-click the Register.bat file, and then click run as administrator . Collapse this includes this image if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click continue .
6. try to install the updates again.
Method 2: Download and install Windows Update agent

After installation of 10 updates by restarting, through phase II and restart again my display driver stopped working so there is nothing on the screen. The disc did something for about 20 minutes, but there is no signal on the screen (yellow light instead of green).
I had to do a restore, but Windows guard eager to make the same update, leaving me in the same position with no display.
What should I do?
Hello
Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.
You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.
But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.
You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:
'Remove an update'
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update
When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again
"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

Here's how to change the update settings, if you think it is necessary to:
"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/
Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;
Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system
See you soon.

Description of the problem: a few days ago I installed the latest update of Windows. All updates, or so I think by the Windows Update Web page telling me so. However I find myself with the yellow warning icon telling me the KB2729450 update is ready on my computer and needs installation. However, the web page says that it successfully installed. I see the update in Add/REMOVE programs. I've deleted and reinstalled but still have the icon telling me to install it. Even when you turn off the computer the message is for me to install, but I think that it has already installed successfully. How can I get rid of these warnings?
Operating system: Windows XPHi depreciated,
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!
If I understand correctly, you receive a warning to install the update, even if it has already been installed. I'll try to help you the question.
(1) did you make any changes before the show?
The update that you are warned with seems to be question of the .net framework. I have you provided the link that will repair your .net framework.

Note: after using the .net Framework cleanup tool, please install all .net Framework components.
Let us know the status of the issue. I will be happy to provide you with the additional options that you can use to get the problem resolved.

Fortunately, I have download my Canon 7 d CR2 files using Photoshop elements 11; but when I do the same thing with a Canon G7X files are not recognized. I downloaded the latest update of Adobe for RAW files. Advice gratefully received.
You need Adobe raw camera 8.7 version. Unfortunately your software is earlier than the camera. ACR 8.7 is only compatible with PSE13. But it is possible to download and install the free DNG Converter to convert your raw files to the universal Raw format files and Adobe will be open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the software of the camera factory)
Download Windows (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
Download Mac (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
You can convert an entire folder of images raw with a single click. See this quick video tutorial:

I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 and the type of system is the 32-bit operating system. I just installed IE 9 and things are fine. I do not understand why I am receiving updates of Windows for versions of base 86 & 64 marked important. (examples are KB 2541763 & 2545698, to name a few). I'm no computer expert and am totally confused as the updates, I need to install. I don't have not updated automatically to download/install, so I look at them and the support information before that I have to download/install the. Any help is greatly appreciated.
NanaWO
Hey Chick,
x 86 is often used instead of 32-bit: this is the same thing.
If you get 64-bit updates, then maybe they refer to the two but you should have gotten the one matching your system. You may have missed the fact that they apply to both 32-bit and 64-bit - although each requires a different version of the update.
The two examples of KB were available for x 86 and x 64 versions. If your system checked and has presented, then it should be adapted to your system. If still interested, you can always go to the Microsoft Download Center and choose the one that you specifically want and download and install manually.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

I have installed the latest updates (02/27/10) and when I open sony vegas to edit some files avi... they were offline... when I tried to read with windows media player it says format not supported... before when I played these files, they would not have to synchronize audio... it never happened with my other computer with Vista... system restore solved the problem of format not supported... but so far has caused this problem? and what about the problems of synchronization? the files seem to sync when played with the hp program...
Hi derlonewolf,Because you performed a System Restore you would not be able to determine which update problem from occurring. You will have to wait for the update to your computer to determine the update that caused the problem. The update does not necessarily cause the problem to occur again. However, you can view the history of updates to updating history.1. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.2. click on the link to view update history.3. to view the details of a single Windows Update-(A) select and right-click on a Windows Update list, and then click details.(B) click on close when finished. As far as the question of timing is concerened, you can scan SFC on your computer and check if the problem persists.
Steps to perform a scan SFC:1. Click Start, click principally made programs, accessories, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow2. type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow[The command sfc /scannow. analysis of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.]A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient, because the analysis may take some time3. If all the files require that a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue4. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.5. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.Check the link below for further guidance on scan SFC - mentioned
You can also make manual updates instead of automatic updates and then see what are updates will be installed on the computer.See : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Turn-automatic-updating-on-or-off

PunkBuster not working after the latest updates of Windows
Hello
Since I installed the latest updates for Vista x 64, I continue to pounce on COD5 with this exception:
Application CoDWaWmp.exe, version 1.5.1220.0, time stamp 0x4a5241f6, failed module pbcl.dll, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4a5cb487, exception 0xc0000005, fault offset 0 code x 00026914, 0x5d0, failing application start 0x01ca36117f69c74e process id.
The problem seems to be related to the Punkbuster client. Before the latest updates, I don't have a problem.
For Windows XP, a similar problem was introduced with KB917422 (in connection with Kaspersky anti virus I think).Any thoughts on this topic?
Best regards, Wilbert
SRY, but if PB doesn't work, you don't have to format your PC.
Just try to reinstall PB. -
Windows Vista 64-bit... Black laptop after the latest updates... windows screens will not boot into SafeMode again black screens.
Hello
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.
Windows Vista or Windows 7 unbootable, and the Startup Repair tool does not resolve the problem:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934540
Method 2:
You can refer to the link below and check the drive for errors:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errorsWarning: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.
If the methods mentioned above do not solve the problem, then it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the computer.
For more information, see the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.
Why my screen is black when I start Windows 7? (Applies to Windows vista)http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-Windows-7
Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. My bi-ecrans Setup has stopped working with the latest update of Windows
My bi-ecrans Setup has stopped working since the last windows update. The second screen is relegated to never turn on and in the part 'View' of the Control Panel, I can't change the 2nd monitor resolution of anything in addition to 480 x 640. I installed the latest drivers for the video card and two monitors. I have everything down, powered, entretienavec left for a few minutes and fed up, nothing. It has been like that for a few days now. Any advice would be very useful,
Thank you
Tyler

There is no update stated in your post which could have implications on your graphics card, or its driver.
Have you installed the latest graphic driver AMD in the AMD site?
