Latitude E7440 display goes black / white after "starting Windows."

I suspect that he is an out-of-the-box issue (like the power button lights, either), but maybe I'm missing something... This particular unit fired upward, as planned and took our standard image. Somewhere along the way (probably during one of its reboots), I noticed that the screen is out. Turn down and the back didn't solve it, or don't have reset the BIOS. Dell diags run without problem and I can start Windows in Mode safe... but whenever I start Windows normally, it removes after "Starting Windows" flashes by.

AARRGGHH! I'm kicking myself. It was something I discovered some time ago and since then I forgot... I had stacked them! I have closed an E7440, placed another on top of it and proceeded to the image of this second unit. At some point, I must have changed it so slightly... put it right above all that the devil is in the cover of the display of the unit of the first! (A magnetic field, is my guess). And "in white" is the second display unit... hit the light of the power button, and as a bonus. It worked as planned, when I moved this unit to another place, in order to tap into a flat HDMI. And it is blanked, as soon as I put back it on top of the first E7440. Mystery solved.

  • Black screen after the windows login

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago. I have read a Microsoft article, (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-windows-7) and tried all the steps with the graphics card and the regestry, but nothing seems to work.

-Task Manager is able to open when the screen is black (shows explorer.exe running)

-J' have the drivers on the HP support site

-laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 3024ca

You will need to login using the method of trial and error. Please uncheck all of the MSCONFIG Startup tab and restart the system. If the black screen issue is resolved, then check out an application every time and restart the system. This will help you to identify the program interfere.

  • After starting windows 7 Notepad opens titled GfxCUIServiceInstall

After starting windows 7 Notepad opens a window titled GfxCUIServiceInstall. I had started this process by calling Microsoft. I realized soon that's a mistake. The Tech, I mentioned, began his response to my question to demean my question and my experience? He said, emphatically, that the problem was with the windows operating system itself, and it's my fault for buying a PC, in December of 2012, which had no 8 installed and always ran 7. That ended with her alone and unique solution - I needed to pay for remote access to my PC, to solve this problem, because I didn't have the know-how. So despite deep understanding of this Tech, I ran a search and retrieval system Mech program instead. I found a file called bootsqm.dat. But even once, I'm stuck, because I do not know what folder say file belongs to. This time, instead of having an experience to repeat, I chose to come here to ask the community instead. That experience has really left me a bitter taste to the Microsoft Customer Service. I hope that someone here can and would really help with this one. Thank you in advance.

I found myself in the same situation just two days ago. I thought about her because I traced my actions for these last two days. It turns out that I put all *.vbs files to open Notepad (I did because I was plagued by virus heuristics *.vbs).  GfxCUIServiceInstall is a vbs script and it opens at startup. So if I put the vbs files to open in Notepad, gfxCUIServiceInstall opens at startup in a Notepad file everytime I open my computer. You just need to change the program that windows uses to open these files in "Microsoft Windows based script host" by using the "open with" command shell when you right click on the vbs files. It's a shame the customer service can not provide this kind of solution, not belittle you or convince you to pay him.

What can I do? Only option work you the PC recovery CD?

You can start a computer laptop properly using SafeMode (F8 at startup) option?

    What can you do?
In my opinion, you have only two options: to install the Toshiba display driver or install the new OS by using the original recovery disk (radical option but it is better).

  • Black screen after start - "Video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys.

Original title: black screen after startup

A few days ago I accidentally dropped my laptop I was trying to pick it up. It froze and I used the power button to stop it. The next day, it worked very well, I played a game, but then the screen got all blurry and it froze again. Therefore, whenever I started it normally, I would get a blank screen. But in Safe Mode, it worked fine.

I assumed it was my hard drive, I got a new and it seemed to work very well, I had reinstalled W7. Until I tried to install the updates and it the screen went white again. I used the system restore and got it to do work. Then decided to move to W10.

After the upgrade, the pc restarted with a white screen, I have it connected to the TV with an hdmi cable while you try to start it, then the screen worked fine. He stayed very well until I tried to install the updates. It would not just start up. He gave to the page «Video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys»

I returned to Windows 7 and now it always starts with a blank screen.

    * the screen works very well throughout the boot process

And works fine in Safe Mode *.

Chances are, at least (if not more) there is now a default in the video circuits.

Be aware, the laptops are very delicate animals.  This type of accident will most often mean end of system life.  The biggest problem is the cost of the repairs in such a situation.  The pieces are almost all owners - read overvalued.  Repairs made by technicians who are not deeply experienced in the setting of your particular brand/model are often insufficiently.  Which leads you onto the OEM repair service that is overvalued.

The result is that once a laptop is spent on the brand of 3 years, repair of such a system in such circumstances: the replacement more often.

Well consider a desktop computer type for a replacement.  They are cheaper to begin with, usually more powerful - sometimes by a factor of 2, are easily repairable using components of off - the shelf that are commonly available and one made by several competitors.   Desktop computers usually hold up well almost two times longer.  From an ergonomic point of view, laptops are considered experts machines of 20 minutes.  Use of meaning beyond that time can be bad for your health.

Have you tried an external monitor on the laptop?

Hi, today I turned on my Pavilion DV9500t off for an hour. It would normally start Windows 7 64-bit (the Welcome screen was during more than usual), but instead of going to my office, the screen went black with the cursor has normally and only flashes do not. No keyboard function works well.
