Latitude e7470, BitLocker, Windows 7

We just bought a new e7470 of Latitude. We installed Windows 7 Enterprise. TPM is enabled in the BIOS with the default settings. Windows 7 is installed instead of the UEFI Legacy mode. BIOS version is 1.9.4, the latest version. I noticed this is TPM 2.0 while our previous e7450s had TPM 1.2. I'm not entirely sure of the difference, but I guess that's enough so that it does not work.

in any case, when I activate the TPM for the reader of the OS, I get this message:

"The Trust Platform Module (TPM) on this computer does not work with the current BIOS. Contact the computer manufacturer for BIOS upgrade instructions'.

I have the latest version of the BIOS. My only guess is that Windows 7 is not fully compatible with TPM 2.0? I installed a hotfix, but does appear to have installed a driver for the TPM secure. How can I fix?

In case anyone wondered, I was able to get this to work. Apparently, the secure version of the TPM can be decommissioned in this laptop. I spent at 1.2 and BitLocker works very well. Here is the site of Dell KB:

  • Install Windows 7 on the new Latitude E7470

    Hi all

I'm struggling with this one. I have a new Latitude E7470. I installed our internal image of Windows 7 (we use Acronis Snap Deploy) and it installed fine on the network, but the installed W7 does not recognize the USB hubs or ports (keyboard and mouse still work) and does not know the new Intel I219-LM or new 8260 Intel wifi NIC since there is no internal CD I have no way to get drivers into the system in order to start the comm! Our image works on most new Dell systems, but this E7470 is apparently too new. How can I do this thing even a USB or SD card? All I have to do is get a driver for the CARD, so I can take care of the rest.

The other thing I've tried is to install W7 from scratch. I have a Dell install W7 SP1 64 bit on a brand USB drive. I can't install Windows 7 from this USB because it is not aware of the necessary drivers for the SSD m2. I'm assuming that even if I had W7 to install from this disc, I would always much luck with USB drivers or the card NETWORK on it...

So, what should I do now? We're still a shop W7 so I need to find a new way to get W7 on this machine.

The way I see it, I have two options. That I could take an old computer, load our image on it, drop installers for new NIC driver on it or teach them with pnp and create a new image from push to this laptop, install the new NETWORK adapter drivers and rebuild our image. Or I could build a whole new system off the dell OEM version supplied with the downgrade E7470 and W7. Yes, I did a backup of the system OE until I wiped it off.

I was wondering if anyone has run across this before and he has ideas about how to do a system more about USB chipsets when there is apparently no way to load external files. Once I tell myself what I can do our new image so it will be towards the rear-chipset to the current, but it's getting the newer chipsets recognized that I'm having a problem with.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Well, I found this one. Not proceed with USB, but I managed to connect a SATA external cd-rom drive to a docking station that recognizes the computer! Then on another machine, I burned the installer of NETWORK card on a CD, and this one is back in business.

I was surprised, he did not "legacy USB" mode in the BIOS as I have seen in other portable USB 3.

If you have a docking station Latitude, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find an external SATA drive. Mine a number of Reference Dell 'K01B '. As far as I can tell it is out of production, but they can still be found on ebay and amazon. In any case, it worked for me. Good luck!

Dell, consider adding a USB mode inherited to the BIOS on this system. Thank you!

  • How to activate the change of Latitude E7470 Lan/Wan?

We have just received 7470 s Dell in our environment, I did go to the power management in the BIOS and check the two boxes under Wireless Radio control, but I have it on the wired network and wifi is also related.

How did you configure the RL/switching on these models? Y at - it a step that I missed? BIOS seems to be updated to the latest version more.

    Indeed!

In the meantime, we found the solution.

These BIOS settings need additional software for Windows work.

After the installation of Dell WLAN Driver HotKey (http://www.dell.com/support/home/be/nl/bebsdt1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=GPW8G&fileId=3531254795&osCode=W764&productCode=latitude-e7470-ultrabook&languageCode=du&categoryId=NI )

  • Cannot get 2560 x 1440 on U2713HM via DVI - D of Latitude E7470

I have a brand new Dell Latitude E7470 connected to a Dell E-Port Plus Advanced Port Replicator (model PR02X). I have the E-Port Plus, connected to 2 monitors - a brand new P2414H Dell via DisplayPort on Video 1 and a Dell U2713HM via DVI - D on Video 2 (see diagram below). Can I use two screens, but although the E7470 correctly identifies the U2713HM, it offers only as the highest resolution up to 1920 x 1200.
According to the website of Dell and this forum, the U2713HM supports the complete resolution of 2560 x 1440 via DisplayPort * or * DVI - D (no HDMI), but even if it is connected to DVI - D, I can't put it in 2560 x 1440.
Why is this and how to get the resolution full 2560 x 1440 via DVI - D link? As it is, it seems blurred and just awful.
A little background extra. I have a setup of 3 monitor with the U2713HM in the middle and shared between the E7470 laptop and my office. I have my desktop connected to the U2713HM on the DisplayPort, so I can't use the E7470/E-Port Plus to the U2713HM DisplayPort. When I go to the U2713HM on the desktop on the DisplayPort, I get the full 2560 x 1440 resolution and it's fantastic.

OK, no ports DVI on any Dell E-platforms will be higher than 1920 x 1200.

    Maximum resolution P2414H = 1920 x 1080
Video of P2414H in ports = DP, DVI, VGA

    Maximum resolution of DP and DVI - D U2713HM = 2560 x 1440
Video of U2713HM in ports = DP, VGA, DVI - D, HDMI

    The installer suggested =
    Docking station video 1 DVI out--> DVI to DVI cable--> DVI P2414H 1920 x 1080
    Video docking station 2 DP on--> cable of DP to DP---> U2713HM DP in 2560 x 1440
    Computer DVI out--> cable DVI to DVI--> U2713HM DVI in 2560 x 1440
    Exit desktop VGA--> VGA cable VGA--> Samsung 275 t VGA 1920 x 1080?

  • Latitude E7470 external screens with Dock problems

    Hello

I have a Latitude E7470 for work and when I started to use it with my docking station for external monitors, I was noticed a similar problem as grew up in the thread below. One of my two external monitors would be (seemingly at random) twinkle time or periodically to a point where he was distracted. In addition, I see the graphics card down several times after the publication of this kind of problems.

I implemented the "fix" that has been bound (and marked as the answer to the thread) over lunch a week ago, and more things are unhinged from there. Basically, I'm at this point cannot connect to all external monitors through the docking station. I resorted to having one monitor connected via HDMI, but hardly conducive to the work environment and I would really like my monitor Setup several back (even with the problem of flashing, at least).

Is it possible to undo the actions that I ran, or is there a fix more up-to-date for this problem?

    Link to the "difficulty":

Any response and advice would be greatly appreciated. I really do not have to resort to obtaining a different style docking station (USB 3.0) if I can help.

  • FileVault and Bitlocker, Windows 10, OSX10.11

I'm curious as to the viability of using FileVault on my OS X and Bitlocker partition on my bootcamp partition. I tried before with apparent success on Windows 8.1 and tried again today with Windows 10, using the EFI System.

First of all, I enabled FileVault before using 10 Windows in Bootcamp. Then once Windows 10 has been installed, I have enabled Bitlocker. Two boot partitions and to report being encrypted, but I've seen web old descriptions indicating that the MBR needs to be changed to make this installation work, or that Windows must be installed on the punched.

Here is the read disk structure (128 GB MacBook Air SSDS) diskutil. Any thoughts are appreciated.

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

    0: GUID_partition_scheme * GB 121,3 disk0

    1: disk0s1 EFI EFI 209.7 MB

    2: Apple_CoreStorage Macintosh HD 88.3 GB disk0s2

    3: disk0s3 Apple_Boot Recovery 650.0 MB HD

    4: Microsoft database 31.8 GB disk0s4

    5: Windows Recovery 366,0 Mo disk0s5

MBR is valid on facilities that use the legacy BIOS Setup. What year/model is your Mac?

  • Dell Latitude: Scan with Windows 10

I have a HP Deskjet 3520.  in a moment of pure, pure madness, I've upgraded to Windows 10.  Now my printer won't scan to my computer in pdf format.

If I try to scan to PDF it is right there with a message "connecting to a computer" which remains for about 5 minutes, then he told me "the computer does not respond.  Check that the USB cable is attached or wireless works correctly and try again."  Yep, check it out and try to print of tp.  Yes, so the computer is obvioisly talk to the printer, try scanning in format PDF - not just the same message.

Previously, he fortunately scanned word copy paper in pdf documents but not now.  My computer is a Dell Latitude E5500, already served by Windows 7.  Now I don't know even how to find out what is my basic computer.  I don't know that Windows (Microsoft I guess) kept sending messages that my upgrade was ready and that if I install all my data and stuff would be ok.  Well, it's not ok.  I don't want to do something harmful - I just want to be able to scan documents to PDF, so I can send by e-mail.

    Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

You have installed the FULL features software for your printer?

If you haven't, here is the link for the download.

  • How to remove the trash on my computer dell laptop latitude who has windows xp?

I am an elderly person not at savvy, computer then pls forgive me for asking what may seem like a stupid question. I need to know how to clear the trash on my laptop. It's a Dell latitude Windows xp. And I thank you all in advance for any help rendered on this!

    There are several possibilities.

If the file is on a network resource or a removable device like a USB key, just delete Deletes without going through the trash.  It sounds like what is happening in your situation (which is your "DVR photo/video plug and play" device?).

Look carefully at the message when you press the delete key - he probably said, "Are you sure that you want to delete 'Filename'?" rather than "Are you sure that you want to send 'filename' in the trash?

    Another, less likely, causes:

If the file is too large, you should get a message saying that the file will not fit in the trash and delete will delete everything without moving to the trash.  I don't think that I've never seen a 'too big' file is to be deleted without the warning message.

What is "too big"?  By default, the Recycle Bin is set at 10% of the size of your disk (partition).  If you go into my computer, you will see different drives displayed.  In general, you will use 'drive Local (c) '.  If you right-click on this icon and select Properties, you will see the used space, free space and capacity.  Your trash for this default player is 10% of the 'capacity' - but with a catch: he will not exceed 3.99 GB no matter how great the drive.

You can see the actual amount of the space allocated to the trash by clicking right on it and then select Properties.  Depending on the number of drives in your computer, you can see several tabs here, including a 'Global' tab and one for each individual unit.

A more even less likely cause:

In addition to size, the Recycle Bin properties tabs also have a box that says "do not move files to the Recycle Bin.  Delete the files when they are deleted immediately.  I doubt that you have this box checked, because then the behavior you describe should occur for all files, not just some of them.

  • Then my dell Dell Latitude C540 run windows 7

I have a Dell Latitude C540/C640 laptop... It came with Windows XP... I want to know if it can run Windows 7 Ultimate, professional etc. If I can change it...

Try to run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, as this will check your computer if you would be able to upgrade to Windows 7, it would aso provide information about the version of Windows 7 that you can upgrade to as well as the software or hardware that you will need to change just in case you do not pass the recommendation. • use or need driver broadcom ush for latitude e6500 running windows 7 Enterprise o/s

I have a Latitude E6500. I've recently updated by the IT Department. with the o/s of Windows 7 Enterprise inst. Formerly, I was running on a Windows XP platform. After analysis of my state of the machine on the Web site updates of Dell, I conclude that it recommends 15 different updates. My main concern is the Dell recommended update checkpoint security. I got two separate recommendations. I also got a message on my computer the Broadcom USH driver is not found.

I would like to know if I need to install the full control Point security update Dell_ControlPoint-security-D_A18_R269916 and also the DELL_CONTROLPOINT-SECURITY-M_A06_R204039 update

Do I have to run both or just one of them.

Also, do I really need to install the full driver package to access the driver for the Broadcom USH or can I select only this driver?

If the full device driver package is installed will then need a security card to access my machine?

Should I have the Broadcom USH driver at all - I use card air and DSL access?

Where the hell are these drivers? I went to the Dell site and downloaded all the drivers available for win 7 64 bit, installed same 32-bit in frustration and found that the same driver is not available on the Dell site... for one or the other! I looked everywhere on the web and can not find this driver set (Control Point security update Dell_ControlPoint-security-D_A18_R269916 and also the update DELL_CONTROLPOINT-SECURITY-M_A06_R204039)... where is this driver package to? :)

  • Latitude D620 and Windows 10

Will Dell releasing the NVIDIA updated drivers for this laptop plus compatible with Windows 10.  The pilots of the stocks in the pre-release version of Windows do not support a low resolution.

I know this is an older laptop, but it works very well and is always quick and current.

I bet it's the 64-bit version that is the problem... I have nine computers and eight of the nine that I've successfully upgraded to Windows 10 32 - bit (Some Home and some Pro)... I stayed in the world of 32-bit and I'm glad I did... I have no reason to go to more than 32-bit 4 GB of RAM (3.2 to 3.5 depending on the system) is very well what I do... I'm not a gamer I don't need a video card super uber (all my video cards are 512 MB of ram)... And most of the applications are still 32-bit only. Tests were conducted on the same computers comparing 32-bit and 64-bit, and only a few applications (Photo/video editing, etc.) are significantly faster with 64 bit. For most 32-bit is fine, but the industry has been pushing 64-bit heavy for these past years (for really no good reason for most users).

I was actually upgraded the Latitude D620 about two weeks ago and had tried a different video driver then but this morning she appeared in my head I tried the wrong video driver (my card in my D620 is a NVidia card)...

When I downloaded the Vista 32-bit driver Nvidia today he immediately installed. Now, I again have a nice resolution... EVERYTHING in my D620 works with no exclamation point in Device Manager.

My D620 is on 24/7 365 days a year running my weather station software downloading on the Internet around the clock. I bought there are almost 4 years used for about $120... good enough dealio...

I have only a laptop that has not managed to install Windows 10 (Fujitsu Lifebook A6120)... Even not to keep anything saying it can't install... She may be destined to remain Windows 7... all my computers, with the exception of a Winbook (also improved to win 10 Windows 8.1) are at least five years or more... And all are running Windows 10 32-bit Home or Pro with no problems.

Refer to the issue of having not to reduce, enlarge, close buttons on applications using the Nvidia of Vista 32 bit on Latitude D620 driver... I realized after I posted that it is easy to close applications... You just point down to the taskbar of the application and the small window appears in the taskbar indicating your APP... This window has a big RED X to close the APP... That is how close the applications easily. And like I said is that the APPS that have missing buttons... Normal PC applications buttons are there very well... So it seems that my DELL D620 will continue on and on and if I have a failure I'll pick up just another D620 used for cheap...

If you absolutely do not need 64-bit (and I can't imagine why anyone would need 64-bit on D620 I would reinstall Windows 32-bit 10 and see how you (should go well and to enter the 32-bit driver for Vista for the D620 leave the Dell Web site...) SEE YOU SOON!

  • Dell Latitude d630 and Windows 7

Does anyone know why Dell does not support Win7 on a Dell Latitude d630?

This machine was built with Windows Vista 32 - bit o/s on 24 November 2008. The date of the original invoice was on May 22, 2009. Win7 was not released until October 2009. The guy I bought it from had installed Win7 and I don't have the disks of backup or restore with it. It works fine except it doesn't have enough RAM, (which is not a big deal). The problems occurred when I tried to update the drivers and found that there is no driver for this model with Win7. When I called Dell, they said that they do not support Win7 on this laptop.

So I was just curious to know if anyone knew why? I won't lose money, upgrading the RAM if Win7 is going to be a problem.

Although W7x86 lists 1 GB as the minimum, I found 2GB for the sweet spot minimum.

More RAM is always a good investment, and even if you decide not to run W7 on this PC (I hope that your friend bought the license outright to pass on to you), more RAM will be beneficial to XP, Ubuntu or another OS, you decide to run on it.  However, more RAM is unable to completely cure your slow, because this might be a result (partially or totally) infections by malware, software problems, corruption of the file system or a bad hard drive... a reinstall to your specifications may be in order.

You can also try searching the forums (or Internet) to get an idea of real world experiences.  I think that there should be no problem... I managed a few s D830 (similar systems - a step towards the top, but even age/line) at work who has installed and have run W7 flawless.
