Launch Windows scanner and Camera Wizard

How can I manually start the scanner and Camera Wizard?  It runs automatically when I plug in my camera, but if I want to copy photos in different directories, I must perform these tasks as a group.  As soon as I made a group, the wizard stops and the only way I know to restart is to unplug, then reconnect the device.  Someone knows a way to start the Wizard manually?

Thank you

Perhaps, you can manually start the scanner and Camera Wizard:

With your camera or scanner connected and open
on... try to go on... Start / run... and type or copy / paste
    What follows:

    wiaacmgr.exe

Now press on... Come in. This should launch the Scanner
    and the camera Assistant.

The following Wizard can also be worth a try:

    Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard

Also, you could manually download photos:

    Something to try...

Connect the device to your PC via a USB cable and turn
on the camera... If open windows... Close them.

According to... to... Start / my computer... the camera can be
    listed as a drive letter...

If_yes_right click on the drive letter and select... Explorer or
Open... This should display the directory of the memory card.
You can copy and paste or drag and drop the files from there to a
    folder on your hard drive.

(The same steps work if you have a media player...
When you go to... Start / desktop media slots...
Drive should be listed under... "Removable disk" with a drive

  • is - it version XP from Microsoft scanner and Camera Wizard work on Win 7?

original title: the version XP from Microsoft scanner and Camera Wizard work on Win 7?  It is much more useful to manage his photos.  The version of Win 7 does not even recognize the camera.

I don't know what else to say.  I have an old XP machine, so I used that.  Child's play for what I wanted to do.

Thank you for volunteering J, for this quick reply.

My question gets pictures from a camera to a PC, my problem is that the XP version is very useful, and the version of Win 7 is not.

Where the question: can I use the XP version on Windows 7?

    You are welcome.

    Sorry for this misunderstanding.

You have said that your camera is not recognized then
I assumed that you were unable to download your photos...

Anyway... as far as I know... the XP Scanner and camera
Wizard cannot be used on Windows 7.

The info can be useful to experiment.

Windows XP scanner and Camera Wizard is:

    wiaacmgr.exe

On a Windows XP system, the path to the file is:

    C:\Windows\System32\wiaacmgr.exe

There is also a copy of the file located in the:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\wiaacmgr.exe

I wonder what would happen (if there is one) if the
wiaacmgr.exe file has been copied from the XP system
and transferred to the Win 7 system?

If you decide to experiment with the wiaacmgr.exe file...

Proceed at your own risk *.

On a XP system if a scanner or camera is connected
and turned on... you can left-click the wiaacmgr.exe
file (even if it is copied on the desktop) and it allows to detect
    the device.

Will it work if copied on the Windows 7 Desktop? I have no idea...

  • I connect my Canon camera, wiaacngr.exe opens a window asking me to select the program to start. But it offers only two options: M/S Office Word and scanner and camera wizard.

    original title:wiaacmgr.exe

I found a lot on the Internet about wiaacngr.exe not opening not or refuses to recognize the camera.  My problem is almost the opposite!   Whenever I connect my Canon camera, by USB, my current laptop (Windows XP Pro SP3 of v5), wiaacngr.exe opens a window asking me to select the program to start.  But it offers only two options: M/S Office Word and scanner and camera assistant, neither of which I want to use.  If I close the window...  Not much, but it's a nuisance.  I would be happy if she has proposed to launch work stations.  I then click on the box "Make this every time" and will never see the window.  Otherwise, I'd be happy to remove the program completely.  Can someone tell me how to achieve one of these?  S ' Please!

  • the scanner and Camera Wizard box is empty

The wizard opens when I put my SD card reader into the USB slot, but there is no choice in the selection of the action box. How can I fix it?

    Hello oldmellow,

    1. are you referring to the AutoPlay dialog box that appears when you plug in the USB key?

    2. have you checked if the card reader is detected in Windows Explorer?

3 was this work very well at all times before?

If the SD card is not detected automatically, you should check if it appears in Windows Explorer.

Open my computer and check if the scanner and camera appears here.

    a. to open the scanners and cameras, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and other devices and then click Scanners and cameras.

If your camera or scanner is not listed in the scanner and Camera Installation Wizard, try to install it using Device Manager. Check if the device is detected in Device Manager. You can see the bottom of the article for more information on this:

  • Prefer the scanner and Camera Wizard in Windows XP on Vista

I searched the web on this and found that there are a lot many people like me who like the scanner and Windows XP Camera Wizard to import pictures better than vista.  However I have not yet found a solution on the web for this.  I have 4 boys and like to put their photos in individual folders marked after each of them.  I can't do this in vista, and I can't do that in Windows live photo gallery.  The scanner and made XP Camera Wizard is very easy to do.  Does anyone know of a solution to this or a 3rd party app that does the same thing?

    sssuperd,

If you can navigate to the photos inside the unit through 'My Computer' then you can select the 50 photos that you need to highlight the images then 'Right click' on a highlighted area and select "cut"(en sélectionnant"Couper"les fichiers que vous avez sélectionnés seront effacées de l'appareil photo dès qu'ils sont fait copier vers la destination que vous avez sélectionné). "» You can now open the folder you want the images and right click and select "Paste". I will list the order the steps below.

Step 1. Connect the camera to the computer.

    Step 2. Open "Computer".

Step 3. Double-click on the camera.

Step 4. Go to the images you want to transfer.

Step 5. Select or highlight the photos you want to transfer.

Step 6. Right-click on one of the pictures that was selected and select "cut"(si vous voulez ces images à supprimer de la caméra après transfert) or "Copy" (if you don't want these photos to remove from the camera after transfer). "."

Step 7. Open the folder that you want to make these files transferred to and right-click on an open area and select 'paste '.

Please let us know if you will have more questions.

  • How to enlarge the photos that I am scanning in the scanner and Camera Wizard &?

    I have Windows XP

You can increase the dimensions in pixels of your scans by
    changing the following setting.

"On the screen"Choose scanning preferences"left click".
    the "Custom settings" button

On the 'Advanced properties' screen... increase the DPI
the default value of 150 to 300 or more.

If you get an unwanted white border on your scans...
automatic detection of the art could be at fault. When on the ' choose
Preferences screen scan... left click on the button "Preview".
and you can see what will include the scan.

If the bounding box does not adjust automatically to the edge of the
photo... you can manually drag the edges. Simply place your
pointer over the edge of the bounding box and what
you see the double arrow... click left/slide to the right
position. You can also use this method to scan only one
part of a photo... the analysis only includes content
    of the frame.

FWIW... There are a lot of analysis of information on the following Web site:

  • Trying to download my pictures from an iPhone 3G, the link to user advanced in XP Windows Wizard scanner and camera does not work. Is there a solution?

There are about 1500 photos in the film and about 1000 other photos.  It worked when the film was smaller.

I'm not sure if you are saying that the wizard will not start
or the wizard launches, but will not download pictures.

Might be worth trying to manually launch the Scanner and
    Camera Assistant:

The executable for the scanner and Camera Wizard is:
    wiaacmgr.exe

If you connect your camera via USB, turn it on and and
Reach... Start / run... type the following and press on... Come in...
    To start the wizard:

    C:\Windows\System32\wiaacmgr.exe

Also... with the camera connected and turned on... If you
Reach... Start / my computer... is the recognized camera
with the letter t? If_Yes_you can copy and paste photos
from there to a folder on your hard drive.

  • How to reinstall Microsoft scanner and camera Windows XP Wizard?

I have Windows XP Home edition four years ago, and microsoft scanner and Camera Wizard disappeared. Right now I can't download my pictures from my memory card on my pc drive. How can I re - install. Thank you.

The executable for the scanner and Camera Wizard is:
    wiaacmgr.exe

If you connect your drive and go to... Start / run...
type or copy / paste the following and press on... Come in...
    To start the wizard:

    C:\Windows\System32\wiaacmgr.exe

The following steps can also be worth a try to have downloaded
    your photos:

Insert your memory card into your Media Player...

    Reach... Start / my computer...

What is the memory card show as a drive letter? (if your Media Player)
has several slots, there will be several "hard drives" listed... the
SD card will be one of them)

If_Yes_right click on the drive letter correct and in the menu... Choose...
Open... now you should see the directory of the memory card or to explore.

From there you should be able to drag and drop or copy and paste the
files in a folder on your hard drive.

Also, you can try to adjust your AutoPlay settings:

Right click on the removable drive that represents the memory card
and in the menu... Choose... Properties / Autoplay tab and open the fall
window and select pictures. And... ICT... "ask me each time to choose
an action "." Maybe this will restore the AutoPlay window when you insert
    the map.

You could also try... on the left by clicking on the button "Restore default settings" / apply /.
    Ok.
