  Check if you set ringtones for specific contacts. A framework for a specific contact overrides the default setting.

  For the time being to uninstall all ring your apps Associates (including ringo lite).

  If you go to Menu-> settings-> sounds and ringtones-> Notification ringtone can't change the tone of your notifications?

  If you go to Menu-> settings-> sounds-> ringtone ringtones can change you the tone for your default ringtone?

  If this is not the case, try:

  Turn the phone off and then on again. You can change the tone now?

  With your phone, remove the battery, leave it for a minute, put the battery back and power on the phone. You can change the tone now?

  If these two do not work, you should try a factory data reset. Make sure you know the email address used for Motoblur and the password. You can check by logging on to the site of Motoblur. If you have purchased any brand of apps that you use the same gmail account when you set up your phone because your google account out of the market is bound to this address.

  I have the Droid X, have sought, but impossible to find a solution.

  I use Zedge and set ringtones for text and e-mail. I make the adjustment, and it has the proper sound when I select. However, once the selection click on the back button and the ringtone always resets to the notification ringtone, that I set Menu button, settings, Notifications, sound, Notification ringtone. Because I saw nothing after searching this forum, I guess that is not a bug and I do something wrong, or there is a problem if I install Zedge.

  Any ideas?

  In case it helps someone else, looks like the rings in the folder Zedge was the problem. I have created a folder Notifications in the sd card, copied the Zedge ringtones, then restarted. When I selected ringtones from apps (text or e-mail) they are now configured properly.

• The new passports e-mail blackBerry see the notification but aren't in the Hub or individual folders by email.

  That is what happened a couple of times briefly, but now seems to be a recurring problem.

  When I get a new email for one of the dozen or so accounts I have, it gives a notification message and sound but does not appear in the hub when I go there to read.  If I click on the notification message soon enough, I can read the email but when I go out, it is not housed in the hub, and I can not open again. The messages are gone from the e-mail server I use as well.

  This only applies to e-mail no matter the imap, pop, etc. I receive all messages without problem.

  Hi, if you go to SETTINGS - NOTIFICATIONS, then click on any PROFILE that you want to make changes to NORMAL for example that you take to a new page & then press CUSTOMIZE APP NOTIFICATIONS will then brings you a fresh page scroll through ELECTRONIC MESSAGES... then click on any email account (if you have some) and it will take you to the screen where you can select different tones.

  I was delighted to see I can finally update my Bold 9700 to OS6 and did both.

  Unfortunately, I discovered all the preset alarm and original settings notification sounds are gone now, and most of them have been replaced by rather lame. Is it possible to retrieve or download the old sounds OS5 Bold 9700 from an official source (!)?

  I really wouldn't be forced to adapt to the new sounds and alarms.

  Scroll down the page until you get to the section "What's new", click on ringtones OS5 OS6 for download all previous ringtones.

  I downloaded 3 ringtones for my 8320.  I tried to put ringtones customized for specific people.

  I went to the list of contacts - edited my contact and apply a custom ring tone.

  Then in the box - less advanced - profiles I tried specifying "use an active profile EXCEPT for: and selected the friend I assigned a specific ringtone."

  When my phone rings that person or I receive an SMS on their part... It still sounds generic ringtone for all calls and sms.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Welcome to the blackberry forums.  Ringtones ringtones and SMS are set up differently as my friends shared above.  I agree with JSanders, SMS is a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it - it won't take you long!  It took me awhile to do - but I did it! I followed these sub JSANDERS management.

  It's complicated for SMS ringtones, but possible. Follow the instructions here:

  This work around will allow you to receive specific alerts for e-mail and messages from specific senders:

  (Works with OS 4.2 and later)

  1. go to the profiles on your BlackBerry and create a custom profile, naming the name of your sender targeted.

  2. Edit and change the custom ringtones that you prefer for this contact message notifications, Messages of level 1, MMS, phone and SMS for this profile. You don't change things like the calendar, tasks, and Messenger alerts do not matter for individual users.

  3. once all your ringtone settings are defined for the new custom profile, save the changes. Now, you will be in your list of profiles and see your customized profile that there are listed with the standard.

  4. now click on the wheel, and then select new Exception.

  5. title except for what you want (would be smart to again name the name of this particular contact).

  6. in the line, click the trackball or trackwheel and select the user in your address book. They should show now in your line.

  7 scroll to the bottom and change the option use the active profile in your custom group newly created profile.

  8. you can dislodge the "Custom phone Tune" box if you already have a custom phone tune for this contact, or leave it and set it in the new custom as well profile.

  9 save the changes.

  Now once you have followed these for each SMS contact - click Save as indicated by the number nine.  Go back to your profile and click on normal or hard for the sound profile. Make sure that you have all of the exceptions already in your area of exception for those you did a SMS tone for. If you do, remove them so you your SMS does not work.  You can actually set your ringtones under each one that you set up as well. When you change your SMS sounds, you can click on the phone and change your ringtone to that specific one.  Hope you can understand this.

  For all messages (text, email, phone) I'm not get notified with the right method identified in my profile. All I get is the LED flashing... no vibration or tone.  I checked then double my notification profile has been properly settled and have gone through the troubleshooting guide over and over again and everything is set correctly - it simply doesn't!

  I checked that I have the sound on my phone while listening to ringtones etc.

  It's very frustrating and I hope someone can help me!

  You can run most any Android application via the Amazon AppStore which included or you can install an app called wink that will allow you to download and install any application from the Google game store. To their list of individual would take days.
