I have a strange problem with the keyboard on a newly acquired Lenovo 3000 N200 0769.

The laptop came from the work, it had been messed up trying to remove Vista and it would not boot from the CD or enter the BIOS, it was stuck just trying to run Rescue and Recovery more and more without a partition of work service.

I managed to get Windows7 installed on the machine and it works great except for a number of things.  The touchpad does not work (not recognized by the system).  I suspect the material in this case, so I have a forthcoming replacement touchpad.

The biggest problem is the keyboard.  It does not at all when the machine starts.  This means that I can't get into the BIOS, and I can't "any key" to boot from a CD.  As soon as Windows (or Ubuntu, I used to help recover the machine) load the keyboard driver, the keyboard to life and it works perfectly (I'm typing this message on the keyboard)

Because the keyboard works perfectly when the drivers are installed, I am inclined to think that the keyboard material is OK.  With Windows installed, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version, no change to the problem.    I tried using a USB keyboard (before flashing the BIOS), but it does not either until the operating system loads.  I also tried to reset the BIOS using the contact in the hard drive compartment.  This causes the BIOS to complain and offer F1 or F2, but the keyboard does not work, so I still can't get.  I reinstalled the keyboard and the touchpad connector on the motherboard.

Any ideas?  I would like to replace the keyboard if I did fix it (or I ran out of options!), but I bet that someone else ran into the front.  I tried Lenovo ringtone for support, but when they found it was out of warranty, they said "I'm not allowed to talk to you."

    See you soon

    John

    You have the problem solved.

I was doubtful touchpad.  AMD got one off of eBay just finished install 10 minutes ago.  The keyboard works properly as soon as the machine starts and the touchpad is recognized and working properly as well.

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 - could I strap a video about this card?

    Hello

I know that this question is asked before, but I have not found an answer that is relevant to me. I have a 3000 N200 series, version 0769. the original specs are: Windows Vista Home edition, processor Intel Celeron 550 2.0 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB of HARD drive, video card integrated in the Chipset Intel 965 M (64 MB dedicated).

Now, since the original specifications, I've upgraded to another (identical) 1 GB of RAM and a T7100 Intel Dual-core clocked at 1.8 Ghz CPU, and I am now running Windows 7 32 bit. The reason for which I've upgraded to the T7100 is because I saw a variant of the N200 with this CPU.

My question is: am I able to Update my graphics card? I know that some 0769 variants have an another version of the graphics card, I think than a 256 MB GeForce. Can I get something like this up on my own? Or I hit the wall when it comes to upgrades?

Please help me, I need a better graphic performance ASAP (work stuff). In addition, I don't have the money for a new laptop (possibly a new card mother or graphics card, but no more than that).

    Thank you!!

Well, you can't go graphics without Exchange the
motherboard with Nvidia graphics, which also
had a different radiator Setup to handle the additional heat
GPU. So I doubt a swap would work without modification.

Swaps the motherboard used, IMO, are not profitable.

RAM can be up to 4 GB, with 3 being a good compromise,
and cpu Core 2 Duo T7500, which would be too minor for
a helping hand to the T7100, unless you can find a good deal.

Probably other processors that were also added later.

In my opinion? Put the money towards a good laptop used
    with the specifications of need/want.

Oh and the weak bios? There are a few bios modding communities

There, but it's a high risk of adventure! See this post for an example:

I received the laptop above, she had a broken hard drive. I replaced the original with a Hitachi model HTS54161J9SA00.  160 GB Sata. I have problems to receive the hard disk drivers. I have downlaoded many on a floppy and tried to install, but they do not work. The laptop when you go into the bios recognizes the hard drive. But when you try to install windows xp, it says you is he lying none present, hard drive because I have no drivers, I have no recovery for this system disc can someone help? Thank you, Jason

    Welcome to the forum,

assuming that you are trying to load XP, which doesn't have the SATA drivers on the cd, you must change the SATA settings in the BIOS in IDE compatibility mode, see here.

  • 3000 N200-0769-ENG via the Touchpad scrolling don't work

I have a new lenovo 3000 N200 0769-ENG (vista Home premium sp1) and have problems with the touchpad.

The touchpad works with the lenovo driver, but its recognized as one mouse only. So I don't have the ability to set the vertical/horizontal scrolling, the only available option is to configure the buttons.  And the touchpad no longer works if I tried the new driver for the synaptics site. The bios that is installed is October, I don't remember the name but I think than his 68ET37WW.

Is it possible to scroll with the toucpad at all? or is it a driver problem?

    Concerning

    Lars

Just want to connect and update this post.

Today, I had options for scrolling and advanced working for the first time!

I installed the latest driver that I could find. (synaptics_v13.1.3.0) and low and here this worked!.

I tried the latest drivers before with xp, vista and win7 without luck, so I had given up to make it work.

So, Lenovo, thank you's for nothing!

  • Lenovo 3000 n200 ram expansion

Hi, I just bought a lenovo 3000 N200, it comes with 1 GB of ram... the thing is, I want to extend to 3 GB. When I bought it, they told me to come back Monday to install an aditional GB (you was a combo) and a promotion of lenovo, I won another GB (hu a little lucky!), can it be upgraded to 3 GB of ram? and if so, should it be 1 GB per slot or it takes 1 GB + 2 GB (2 slots)... Thank you very much in advance for your answers!

It would probably be the case. But for normal use, 2 gig should be easy to do.

  • Problem with CD/DVD-unit of Lenovo 3000 N200

    Hello

I have a problem with my Lenovo 3000 N200 newly purchased. The CD/DVD-unit worked from the beginning, but now is not present among the readers, that I can see at the opening of 'computer '. The player is visible is the C drive ("SW_Preload (C'"). ")

The CD/DVD unit actually reads the CD: s or Swedish I insert, but nothing more happens and "Microsoft Management Console" device CD/DVD-("MAT ** bip ** z A DVD-RAM UJ-850 ATA Device» apparaît, mais avec un petit point d'exclamation marque sur elle.)

I sought unity for readers, but have found no and readers used are apparently own Microsoft driver for CD-ROM units ('C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys', 'C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\GEARAspiWDM.sys' and "C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\PxHelp20.sys").

The thing I did at the same time the CD/DVD has probably lost its good driver or something was to install Norton 360 from Symantec.

I would really appreciate help with this question.

I did, as a last resort, try the solution pa Cecilia on IDG proposed, tinkering in the registry in Windows Vista.

I didn't like the idea at all, because I thought it was just something I have to do if I had been messing around in the registry or had done something 'strange' (such as actually Windows Vista installed myself, or upgrading or uninstalling drivers important etc) but at the end of the day, he worked , and it was much easier that I well during playback

When I put the computer power options to do nothing when I close the lid, the screen turns off and light up again.

I also connected the laptop to an external monitor and then put the laptop to sleep, but then the external monitor does not turn on either.

This problem also occurs on laptop my father, a laptop HP Compaq 6710 b with Windows XP (downgraded from Vista to XP also).

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 wireless problem

    HY,

  • 3 beeps on Lenovo 3000 N200 starts

Bought a lenovo 3000 N200 on eBay that was dead, looked as if it was probably a failure of the motherboard to nothing lit up.  Got a 2nd motherboard user with the same number of eBay and mounted FRU 41R7886, now when I turn on the laptop the drive light lights for a few seconds, after he died, I get 3 beeps, cooling fan seems to stay on and there is nothing on the LCD or on an additional screen that I have connected to the laptop. Tried to remove the DIMM 2 and turned on again and the symptoms are the same as before, except no beeps. Can anyone help as to the likely cause of failure? Thanks, Dan

Problem solved, thanks for all the great answers.

I tried the memory two sims in my Lenovo 3000 C200 laptop and got exactly the same symptoms, dead PC and 3 beeps, discovered that one memory sims I was using was defective. This replaced and Lenovo 3000 N200 now up and running.

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 - cannot access Rescue and Recovery - MBR poss problem?

I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 sick who was running XP home. I could not start XP and can only access the Rescue and Recovery utility in the Lenovo recovery Partition that would be to rebuild the hard drive to factory settings IE. Windows XP with no data. I managed to copy the data using a Paragon backup cd and then made the fatal mistake of attempting a repair MBR, which was a very tempting option on the Paragon rescue cd. Now, not only it does not boot to XP, but I can run is even more Rescue and Recovery to reinstall XP which is the problem!

If I boot with windows install disc and take the option recovery console it stops, statement that "recovery console could not find the hard drives connected to your computer. Setup cannot continue. "

I was wondering if someone another backup MBR restore could help me with this?

So, if someone has a Lenovo 3000 N200 work and is willing to try to save the MBR to send it to me, then please get in touch. It is probably useful to make a backup for yourself where the same problems happen to you!  In my view, there are a bunch of programs that backup the MBR for example MBRtool, MBRWizard and so on.

Any ideas, offer accepted with gratitude.

Yes I know I could buy the Lenovo recovery disk, but it is a matter of principle for me avoid paying £50 or so if I can avoid it! We'll see if we can help here...

    Thank you

    Simonides

    I am pleased Andyp!

The solution was to set the primary partition to inactive and value the recovery partition Active, then restart and use the Lenovo Care button (now finally works) to access the function of recovery so I could return the laptop to factory State.

No doubt there are plenty of ways to do it, but the approach I took to solve this problem is released under

    1. use another PC to download Paragon backup and restore (I actually used the trial edition now but the free edition may have a similar feature)

2nd burn a CD bootable backup and recovery 10.0.

    3. start the CD Lenovo, and after a long wait, a menu should appear with 11 options, the first of them being Paragon backup and restore.

    4. Select Paragon backup and restore.

5 select properties in the pick a task window and you will see two partitions, a big enough (in my case Go 143, called Preload) and the other is quite small (6 GB called SERVICEV001).

Note: this is an opportunity brilliant to use the Back Up Partition option to make a backup on external drive USB of the two partitions as the reconstruction of the hard drive with Lenovo Care button you will lose all data.

6 right-click the partition preloads and select Edit and set idle

    7. made the SERVICEV001 partition right click and select Edit and set the Active

8 remove the backup and recovery of CD and put it somewhere safe

    9. restart the PC and Lenovo Care button (might be called something different) should now work, allowing you to restore the hard drive to factory settings which will erase all data of a personal nature. You did a backup?

10 Windows should then start as usual, reinstall Paragon backup and restore, and restore your data.

Finally, look at this as a lesson to

    (a) you get a writable DVD and use the Lenovo menu under windows to create a floppy disk from Lenovo rescue and recovery started.

    (b) use Paragon or equivalent to create copies of images of each partition and ordinary differential copies of the primary partition.

I hope this will help other owners who have a hidden rescue for example partition. IBM and HP and would like to receive feedback.

Finally, I must acknowledge assistance patient e-mail provided by Taisia Smirnova Paragon support by offering me this solution.

    best, Simonides

  • Computer laptop Lenovo 3000 N200 that does not start as a system file is missing or damaged:

«I have a laptop Lenovo 3000 N200 that won't start as "" Windows has no start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM "»»

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 on the habit of power and shows no lights

    Hi all

I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop. One day he just off its autonomy while watching a video, and now shows no signs of life. Used to power on, no light when it is connected with a power supply, nothing.

I tested the power supply and tried another new and get the same result. So I don't think that the battery/power supply is the issue.

I have a feeling that it is something more serious, the laptop is out of warranty and IBMs fresh out of warranty are stupidly high. If anyone knows what could cause this problem and if it is possible to repair with a spare room (off ebay or elsewhere), I'm able to disassemble the laptop and replace a part.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Bass sounds.

Some say remove memory and see if it gives an indication

of life, like any beeps at startup.

Try without battery, try to unplug it, remove the battery and press and hold the

power button for 30 seconds and plug in again etc.

Try to remove the hard drive, but this looks like a dead motherboard

If you have any sign of life after trying everything you can think of.
