Hello
I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-75 (with Free DOS):
BIOS version: A4CN24WW (V 1.03)
Im trying to install Windows 8, but it just doesn't work. no question, if I allow secure boot or turn it off. No matter if I choose from the "OS Optimized Defaults: [Win8 64 bit]»
I changed the boot priority so that the DVD player is on the highest place (1).
has obtained a Win8 DVD work, has also got professional win7, but I prefer to install Windows 8.
Although Win7 is OK also if it will work then.
I don't know what to do else that pass around these options. and it doesn't help me at all.
Whenever I start the laptop and choose to start with the DVD player lights up and nothing happens.
Someone please help me with this annoying problem of hella.
Thanks in advance.

Hi dynamitenews
1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
2. what happens when you try to start the computer? You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.
Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/BIOS-frequently-asked-questionsIf nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

He tells me that it is not allowed to boot from a DVD! never had a computer like that!
How to make it possible for a start on a DVD?
laptop model?
If your laptop has UEFI, remember that your linux is x 64 version and compatible UEFI.
You can also try turn on the F12 on the BIOS menu:
Press F2 at startup
look for F12 boot menu and it helped
Press F10 to save and exit
at the next startup, press F12 and choose the DVD as boot device

Cannot install the boot from the DVD - OEM of Windows 7 (full)
Generally, I am able to reset the priority of readers, so a computer will boot from a DVD. It's my first time on Win7 and I can't make it work. Insert the disc in Windows (XP currently installed - 'not real') indicates the drive is not compatible with this version of Windows. I thought that booting from the DVD would help, but I'm prompted to "press any key to boot from the CD/DVD" and every time he ignores me and goes backward to boot from the XP/hard drive.
At this point, I tried to affect the CD/DVD drive that all the priorities, not only the first condition. I tried to use the other DVD player because there is another - still no luck. Isn't this updated software in place to work this way? It should be bootable, no?
Thanks for any help...
Here's a question I would ask. Your computer is 64-bit compatible? If it isn't, it's probably one of the reasons why you would receive this error message. Please run the Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if your computer is ready for 64-bit.

Windows 7 for Lenovo G50-70 - the computer will not boot from the CD
Hello world
I hope that someone here will be able to help
I bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1. I want to install Windows 7 on that I know well because I can't use the new windows. I changed the settings in the BIOS to get the machine to boot from the CD, but it won't be fair. I also tried to restore the system to boot from the CD, but it installs just the Windows pre-installed, new instead. Also, I can't access the CD from the drive while all my other computers are capable of (what is strange)
Can someone help, please?
See you soon
PS. : I can turn on the computer through the small "boot botton" on the side and select the DVD drive to boot from. But this is not followed by the message "Press any key to boot from CD" and the computer starts just W8 yet;
I contacted customer service and followed your advice. They refused to help him on the ground that there nothing wrong with the machine in their opinion, and since I wanted to change operating system. All preinstalled spyprogrammes Lenovo has been erased with this downgrade. So far, I've owned a laptop computer brand new and expensive for a year I used only to waste my time, trying to make it work, that was not why I bought it in the first place. What a RIP-OFF!

Tecra M3 PTM30A will not boot from the cd to reinstall windows
Hi all
Totally new here and I have a question. I replaced the hard drive in the laptop, the old man died.
I set the bios to boot from the cd. He reads the Windows XP cd for a minute then jump to trying to boot on the network adapter.Do I need to have the cd of recovery or must it be able to boot from a plain old XP cd?
If it can boot from a normal cd is the stuffed ROM or am I missing something? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help you.
Hello
> I replaced the hard drive in the laptop, the old man died
Your new hard drive is recognized by the Bios?
> Do I need to have the cd of recovery or must it be able to boot from a plain old XP cd?
You can use a recovery (if available) disk or Windows disk copy. In the Bios, you must set the Cd/DVD-ROM as 1st boot device and press F10 save and exit. Turn it back on. Thus, your computer you should start the installation of the Cd drive.

Found a box that prevents the bios to booting from anything other than the hard drive in the BIOS, under Security. Stupid because it still allows you to change the order of boot without any error message.
Once I changed I could boot from the cd and fix corrupted files.

Cannot install Windows XP as a second OS on the Satellite L305-S5926
Just got a Satellite L305-S5926 (a series SATA drive), I want to add a Windows XP partition (first choice) or convert them into a single Windows XP system (second choice).
First of all, I did shrink a partition using Disk Manager in Vista to release about 73 GB of disk space for use by the Win XP partition. Then with the BIOS setting for the Sata Interface AHCI (default) value, I rebooted for Win XP installation CD and had a blue screen of death (BSD) with a Stop error after you load all the drivers and tried to start XP.
I then created a floppy disk with the drivers of Toshiba Sata Raid/AHCI and restarted the installation of Win XP CD using F6 to install Sata drivers. Always had the BSD. Restarted and went into the BIOS and changed the setting of the Interface Sata to compatibility and then restarted in the Win XP installation CD.
Use both the F6 option or not the F6 option, the progresses installation more than before in the start-up phase to the place where you get to choose the partition where you want to install XP.
At this point the only partition is to see the partition C: Vista living in. It is not the 73 GB of free space I created by reducing the Vista partition at the beginning. The results are the same, they are, under Vista, I leave the space as free space or if I format it, it does not appear as a place to install XP
At this time I have not yet tried the cleaning disc entirely and install XP first then by installing Vista only because I'm still waiting for a Toshiba Recovery disk before proceeding with this approach.
Any idea what I can do to create the second partition with XP? Anyone tried install XP on this model as the primary OS and if so how did you do?
Thank you

HP Touchsmart 15R017dx: install windows 8.1 on new SSD from the recovery disk
Hello
I recently bought a 275 GB SDD to replace a Go 520 crushed SATA HDD. Because I don't have a recovery disk created, I ordered the HP Win 8.1 recovery disks. I followed the instructions and the Disk 1 formatting process completed successfully and I was prompted to insert disk 2. At this stage the process crashes after the dvd player starts rotating. Nothing I o will cause the process to continue. The problem is the size of different readers?
Thanks for any help.
Hello:
See if, by your own plain W8.1 installation media, you can reinstall Windows 8.1.
https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows8
The only downside is the OEM product key in the BIOS.
However, there are workarounds like the one shown below to find out how to get the product key in the BIOS to work on your new installation...

Try HARD drive recoveryTurn on the device, press F8 and choose fix my computer.
Now choose the recovery of HARD drive in the list of available options.
This should set the camera back to the factory settingsBut this procedure works only if the HARD drive is OK.
If the HARD disk is not OK, it will not work -
I recently created a movie using Windows Movie Maker software in my Windows 7 computer. I used pictures and video clips and audio tracks in my Zune 120 software included. After downloading the project onto a DVD-R disc, download included only the pictures and video clips... no music. Before you download on the DVD disc, I presented in Premiere the film on Movie Maker, which clearly shows the video and audio files. Any help would be appreciated.
