I have a Thinkpad T61 and I wonder what kind of processor i3 current is compatible with my laptop?

I need a processor that can handle older games like Morrowind with ease, I currently have a pathetic Centrino processor.

    Goodegg says:
    I want a current i3.

Well, it's just not going to happen.

The fastest CPU, only one of these cards will have X 9000, which is a 2.8 GHz Core 2 Extreme. It is also $ 200-250 depending on his luck.

If you need a current CPU, you will need to get a more recent/current machine.

    Hello

As far as I know the laptop has 40 GB, 60 GB and 80 GB built-in HARD drive.
If you also use a 100 GB HARD drive but I don't know about m 120 GB hard drives.
The problem is that Toshiba does not provide all the official documents and information
on the max supported size of HARD drive and therefore we can only speculate.

You could simply test the HARD drive.
If the BIOS does not recognize the new HARD disk, you can send it to the garage.
I think that this should t be a problem.

  • Upgrade the hard drive or consider a new ThinkPad?

    Hello

I have an IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad R51e with a 40 GB hard drive. I'll soon be at the limit of ability, and I think to upgrade the hard drive.

My laptop is under warranty until May 2009, says I guess some of you maybe understand my dilemma. Even the technology IBM says it was a difficult call. He suggested an external drive, but I really wanted to do as it would go against how I personally use my laptop.

He gave me a 80 GB hard drive part number 13N6709 (it is the biggest hard drive I can go internally with the R51e) which will cost me $261,00

I tried looking for answers to these questions, but the more I read more my head began to spin.

There are a few questions (with the help of the people in this forum) I'm eager to know before investing more money in this laptop.

Do I need other parts to install the new HDD?

The Pro Windows XP was preinstalled by IBM/Lenovo. It will recognize my serial number to install it?

All my recovery disks will still work with the new hard drive? Or do I have to buy a new game?

I'd be better to just buy a new laptop?

If, therefore, for those knowing what are the features that are on the R51e IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad would get the most bangs for the bucks?

I'd appreciate really no knowledge that any of you can give me.

    Sincerely,

    Kat

  • Upgrade the hard disk on Tecra M9 will void the warranty?

    Hello

I want to upgrade the hard drive on a Tecra M9 120 GB to a 200 GB Hitachi Travelstar 7K 200 hard drive SATA 3 GB/s. The coverage still apply for the Tecra after this upgrade?

    Kind regards

    charlieMOGUL

Upgrading the HARD drive would not affect the validity of the guarantee.

But I'm not sure on the size 200 GB HARD drive the BIOS supports a HARD drive size limitation and not all dimensions are supported. If the HARD disk is too big, the BIOS would not recognize the new HARD disc.

The problem is that Toshiba doesn't provide any information on HARD drive sizes possible.
I think that you should just look at it

If you have tested this HARD drive, please report it here in the forum I m very interesting if the 200 GB would run properly.

    Good bye

  • Lenovo-ThinkPad-W541-20EFCTO1WW: is it possible to change/upgrade Quadro K2100M of GTX 980 M?

is it possible to change/upgrade GPU - Quadro K2100M of GTX 980 M in ws laptop Lenovo "ThinkPad W541' (20EFCTO1WW)?

I like the laptop, but the GPU portion is not for pc games, so iwould like to know weather is it physically possible to change this QuadroK2100M in the Lenovo ThinkPad W541 games GPU i.e. GTX 980 M?

    Thanks in advance!

The GPU is soldered to the motherboard, so he can't be replaced.

The K2100M should still work good for the games.

The 980M is also a map of 100 watts, while the K2100M is a map of 55 watts. There is no way the W541 can handle it, even if you can replace the GPU.

  • Wiping Hard Drive, Reinstalled with Windows 7 with upgrade disk product key error

My computer has been acting upward, so I back up hard drive and erased the hard drive with the BACK CLEAN ALL command. I then reinstalled windows 7 from my Windows 7 Upgrade disk and restore my files on hard disk. The computer works fantastic and returned half of the memory of the hard drive. A few days later, I get a message on the screen that I have 30 days left until I can produce a product key from the original Windows installation, does not accept the upgrade product key.

I tried the product key located on the bottom of my laptop for Windows Vista comes with the HP computer. It does not work and it gave me no disk backup for Windows Vista from HP.

I called Microsoft and they told me to contact HP for the product key. I see on this forum that someone else has written a similar plea, because it is a plea, and HP said to contact Microsoft. In other words, Microsoft says to contact HP and HP says to contact Microsoft.

I use Microsoft since Windows 3.2 operating systems and have bought a lot of products of them. It's my 3rd HP laptop, my wife is on her 2nd HP laptop. Well you know what? If I don't get this resolved quickly by one of your companies, and I'm not remember Microsoft, I'm through the two of you.

I don't see where Microsoft is not being fooled off but when it's to the detriment of a loyal customer, so don't worry. HP is also responsible for this. An upgraded version of Windows 7 (to upgrade from Vista or XP) should be smart enough (and I thought it was) to remember that I had the original version and its product key should be enough. Also I don't never told me that I had to keep the old product keys, and it doesn't matter anyway because the product key is always available in my laptop HP, but it does not work.

I'm not buying another HP without your help and actually buying an Apple Mac for my wife and my next computer if it is not resolved. I think that HP is probably as bad as Microsoft so that it will not be solved and I'm not shelling out more money for something I already own.

  • Some problems with the upgrade of RAM on Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

    Hello

My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad T500 and its main features as follows:

    -Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz, 6MBL2).

    - 4 GB PC3 - 8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067 MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM).

-ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256 MB.

I really need to upgrade the RAM to work with SharePoint 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2. and my big question is:

    * How many memory locations that I have in my Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

I read on (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-55644#t) that the maximum memory size for T500 is 8 GB.

Yes, in case if my Lenovo ThinkPad T500 laptop has only two memory slots, so, I'll have to buy 2 memory cards of ThinkPad 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 Low-halogen SO-DIMM, in order to get the 8 GB... and I have to throw my current memory cards...

    My other question is:

    * Is easy to install/remove RAM in Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

Sorry to ask the second question, but I have never dealt with before material.

    I would appreciate your inputs.

Thank you for your consideration of my request and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

The T500 has only two slots of RAM, so the upgrade to 8 GB would mean that your two existing 2 GB modules would need to be removed.

Replacement of the RAM is simple; Remove the four screws for the Palm and the locations of memory will be under the palm rest.

  • How do I reinstall Windows 7 Upgrade disk on the new hard drive

    Hi all.
I had a hard drive crash on my Dell XPS420 who settled with Vista. I've upgraded to Windows 7 (from the offer of activation of 3 site) about 18 months ago. I am trying to buy a new hard drive and install Windows 7 onto the new drive. I only have 7 disc ultimate improvement. I don't have a Vista disc. What is my best course of action? Thanks in advance for the help & support.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
