• New SSD UEFI boot [U430 touch]

  Hi all

  My Lenovo U430 touch came with a Samsung 128 GB SSD.

  As it became a bit on the small side, I decided to replace it with a Samsung EVO 250 GB SSD.

  My first thought was to clone the old SSD and then resize partitions later. I quickly ran into trouble, the cloning has not worked. So I decided to start from scratch. So, I installed the new SSD and installed a Windows Pro 8.1 installation naked.

  Although everythings works one thing is still bugging me.

  For the new Samsung SSD to be bootable, I must:

  -Disable secure boot

  -Allow the start of the legacy

  Why is this?

  I thought about all the necessary codes were a BIOS / OS thing?

  * This was done a few months ago, it came just once again that I upgraded my BIOS and the laptop don't boot *.

  well done secure boot part of the key of Windows 8/8.1 that is embedded in the bios and check the boot image, so if you install windows 8/8.1 pro or normal CD it will give the error box saying non-secure OS detected which means that it rejected your copy unaudited operating system which is not verified in secure boot so that the why it must be turned off.

  Reason 2: for UEFI only works if you have a bootable UEFI your ona windows USB key copy, so it can use UEFI and GPT instead of MBR since MBR mode only works in legacy mode and no UEFI, for uefi to work you gota difficulty one copy USB windows 8/8.1 with rufus and select UEFI & TPG box and then hit create so it will iso copy USB as a device of UEFI boot so it can use the UEFI

  Hi bought this lappy 4 days back due to touch screen and the functionality of CONTROL of MOVEMENT of LENOVO. lappy even come with preinstalled MOTION CONTROL S/W. to know the use I called lenovo techies and they said to uninstall the s/w and to download this new online platform... I did according to the guidedance, but now, no download is available for LENOVO MOTION CONTROL 2.0 S/W COMPATIBLE WITH LENOVO FLEX 2 14... Please help me with "LINK to DOWNLOAD COMPATIBLE" I want to enjoy this feature.

  My advice, even if they don't work I won't much care to their topic, they are pretty useless unless you want to kill your battery. Gestures work sometimes and sometimes not, it gets more frustrating as the kinect for Xbox.

• U430 Touch - screen dead?

  Hello

  My U430 screen recently stopped working, and I would like some advice on what to do to fix it. The laptop runs fine otherwise, only the monitor does not work.

  Here's what I've tried so far and what I discovered:

  • Turning on the laptop on a new - no change
  • Connection to the laptop to another monitor via HDMI - the laptop is fully functional, and the computer does not recognize the dead, only the other monitor screen

  I also noticed when I opened my laptop before cracking noises, and hinge seems to be compensated. This leads me to believe that the cable connecting the screen to the laptop got captured or cut through the hinge - especially with the rest of the laptop work properly. Is there a fix I can do manually, or I have to send the laptop at home?

  EDIT: What happened today (13 February) during normal use of the laptop (sitting on a desk) after 5-10 minutes of normal use. The screen went black without any warning and it was the first indication of any problems with the screen - it had worked perfectly up to this point.

• Lenovo U430: 'there was a problem of reset your PC"error

  I'm trying to install Windows 8.1 in new U430 touch my brother. I created the recovery USB disk (formatted in FAT32). When I insert and proceed with the installation, there is only a few percent discount to zero and then says: "there was a problem of reset your PC. It does not give me information or choices other than to cancel the process.

  How is - this guy did reinstall the OS after upgrade to an SSD? Everyone did encounter this problem?

  When you say restore via OKR, you mean with the Virgin SSD installed, I should go to the recovery menu and update from there?

  Answer: No. partitions must exist and there should be some files in the hidden OKR partitions to restore. If you need to recreate the partitions for okr work.

  I don't have a way to install own OS. That is the question. I put in SSD in the other three laptops in the past and each of them allowed me to create recovery discs to reinstall a version of Windows on the new SSD factory. I find it odd that Lenovo would choose to remove this option.

  Answer: The copy of the operating system factory is in a hidden partition on the hard drive. To restore or install you must run OKR via the Novo button if the BONE does not exist. Options:

  1 recovery Dvd sets can be ordered from Lenovo. Just give them a call to inquire about this.

  2 do the OKR USB flash drive recovery. This will recreate all partiitons including the installation of the OS program.

  3 cloning the hard drive using the included DSS cloning program or by a third party program. You need to do a repair late to make the operational okr.

• U430 Touch: Wireless not working only not with windows 7

  My friend bought a U430 Touch with Windows 8. He hated Win 8 so I helped him downgrade to Windows 7. Now the work of dowsn t wireless. Ethernet works very well and we are able to get on the internet, but Wireless does not work. I been to Lenovo website and downloaded the drivers from their site of support, but nothing weems to work. Is there a special driver I'm missing?

  Too bad. Just worked on it. Downloaded the drivers for Win 8 WLAN and that fixed it.

• Lenovo C440 touch screen will not work

  I have a desktop with 21.5 Lenovo wireless "touch of the screen.  The touch screen used to work, but now it doesn't.  I have looked for ways to solve this problem, but have not come up with a solution.  Does anyone know how do my touchscreen still works?  Other answers to similar questions don't did not help me.

  I understand that you can not use the touchscreen on your Lenovo computer.

  This happens usually if the necessary drivers are not being updated or corrupt.

  I suggest you to install the latest drivers available for the device and see if that helps.

  Lenovo Transition software used to be available on the site Web of Lenovo 1170, but Lenovo have excelled themselves again and removed this essential piece of software from the site Web 1170. Not content with this Lenovo have also not their driver to trackpad-synaptics on their site of support of 1170 updated driver synaptics real work which can be downloaded from the site Web Lenvovo 1370.

  It's almost as if Lenovo are purposly screwing of support to older models of computer to devalue their.

  Transition from Lenovo will be probably available somewhere, preferably a Lenovo Web site. I suggest you Google "transition lenovo." The first result of the search seems to be legitimate. The URL is:

• U430 touch - N7260 driver

  This is my first post in this forum, but I just wanted to share my experience and possibly get a glimpse as to why it has been my experience.

  I've recently been troubleshooting why my wifi connection speed have been so slow on my pc. I have 60Mbps connection and I was running ~ 12 top down and 20.

  I decided to replace N7260 the driver that shipped with the system, with the version more directly at Intel and uninstall the PROset software. Now, I'm getting the speed ~ low 55 / 60 upwards.

  Personally, I recommend this action to anyone experiencing speeds slow wifi, but I also wonder... Lenovo, what gives? Why do you ship a driver that affects performance so badly?

  The problem is twofold:

  1 Intel provide drivers subpar

  2 Lenovo does not keep in touch with the fact Intel driver updates

  For my part, the road went intel on all drivers for this laptop and I saw improvements on the drivers more often than otherwise. Yes, I meet problems ocasionaly but quickly return to the previous driver solved the problem.

  Don't wait for Lenovo update the drivers (which are identical to those of intel at least for the IdeaPads) as they do not seem to care much even on their laptops to Lighthouse such as Yoga 2 Pro. They are all harassed by older drivers intel causing tons of questions, which have been fixed months ago by Intel.

• motion control for vertical actuator and data acquisition

  I am a researcher (a branch of civil engineering) geotechnical engineering and I have very little knowledge about the acquisition of control and data motion, so would need a lot of help from the experts OR. I have only knowledge base on these 2 aspects based on my reading of some materials on the Web site of NOR and youtube videos, so I hope that you bare with me . Here are my questions:

  I am trying to build an actuator which will be used to push a probe (a penetrometer with a load cell to measure the resistance of a soil sample), resembling the concept, photography in the attached file. I need to have these criteria for my system:

  (1) actuator, which can push the probe at speeds between 0.01 mm/s - 300 mm/s with precision and move the probe cyclically (upwards and downwards) in the vertical direction
  (2) load expected on the probe into the ground range: 0.02kN - 6 kN.
  (3) necessary to get the load cell load data and the speed of the probe.

  4) able to control the actuator to a PC (speed and posotion) and monitor data from transducers and data log time even the transducers.

  Guess my beginners is that I will need:

  For orders:
  (1) software - LabVIEW and NOR-motion assistant

  (2) controller - NI PCI-7342

  (3) driver/amplifier - analogue servo AKD Drive

  (4) motor - motor brushless servo AKM

  For the acquisition:
  (1) software - based LabVIEW development systems

  (2) amplifiers or other device - no idea what type on the conditioning of signals

  (3) data acquisition device - no idea what type

  Since I'm a beginner, is - that someone might recommend components (hardware and software) for the control and data acquisition. I'm on a tight budget, so I thankful if someone could help me to recommend components good enough to build my system.

  At these rates, you will need to run the sensor for the cDAQ.  You can configure the analog output on the Tritex nationally on the position.  There is an adjustable filter that you can set in order to get a clean enough to 300 Hz signal.  When you learn about the Tritex, make sure that let you them know what comms and e/s that you want to use.  If I remember, not all options have worked together.  The analog output may need to be my, but you can put a resistance through the acquisition of input data to get the voltage instead.  I don't remember all the details.  You should really not too much on the Tritex/LabVIEW side.  You will send your movement parameters (beginning of end of race, speed, position, accel, cut), and if you cycle (I believe you) or simply running in a loop.  You could also just be able to use the functions of jog.  When you get close to knowing exaclty what you need, PM me and I'm sure we can work something out with the drivers.  You need only the basics.  In fact, you could probably do this all your movements via digital and analog i/o.

• Remote control/software Apple TV with the App Store problems

  Seems ridiculous that a Sept 2016 4th Gen apple TV purchase has the same problems of connectivity with the App store. Impossible to connect, or even choose App store, or spare parts offline, erratic, glitch and acts as a problem of distance, but seems to be a software problem or interface. Obvious corrections or ideas to stabilize or least to increase connectivity to app store with 4th Gen Apple TV/remote control?
