LENOVO Y570 game settings & cooling fan

Hey guys I just bought a new ideapad y570 i7, nvidia geforce gt555m and I try to play games in it.

I'm not just a familiar with the features that lenovo y570.

so im asking

1. what settings should I use for thermal management when the games?

2. What is the diff between the standard heat dissipation and super silent and effective?

3. Finally, I would like to know that means a key theater? Smart movie and thingy? What is that for? it increase the graph if I'm gaming?

4. in what activities should I change the mode of theatre and how?

5 is it advisable to use the cooling fan?

Im sorry if im asking too, I am just get familiar with the new features of lenovo. This is my first lenovo btw.

Hello Alvians and welcome in the community.

1. thermal management must be set to an effective Heat Dissipation

2. the difference between the thermal modes is especially the level of noise-Supersilent(self explanatory), means standard of regular cooling with not too much noise, an effective heat dissipation means that the fan runs at higher speeds to allow better cooling, but it will be a little stronger than other modes.

3 OneKey theater is a function that changes the contrast of the image a bit and enhances the audio experience (I really like the cinema mode when I watch movies and series..). The intelligent mode is supposed to change depending on what you're do - listen to music, play games, watch movies, browse the internet... But from my experience I use than Normal or a film. And no, it will not stimulate the graphics in the games.

4. I recommend that you use the "Movie" mode when you watch movies or something like that, or just run it in normal mode. Well that's my opinion, but you should feel free and try them all out to see what works best for your needs.

5. cooling fan won't make a noticeable difference. If make sure that the back of the laptop is a bit lifted (put books under the screen of the laptop to raise it up a little to make room for better circulation of air).

And now, just a tip for the game-updated Nvidia drivers graphic 301,24 beta drivers.

To do this, download the driver here: download 301.24 beta driver

-Then go to install/uninstall programs,

-Uninstall everything that you see who has Nvidia in its name (a computer restart will be necessary).

-check once again whether everything is uninstalled (if not, uninstall everything that is left by Nvidia).

-Run driver downloaded, the file of 301.24

-choose "Custom Installation".

-Check the 'Clean Install' on the bottom of the installer

-Then just click Next and the driver will begin to settle.

It probably will be asked to reboot your pc once or twice. When he asks you to do, just click Restart now.

So now you have the latest drivers and games will run a little faster (most of the good games run faster).

Hope this has helped you in some way!

    Hello world!

I would like to know if you can help me with this problem.

I installed windows 7 Home premium and activated, everything was good and laptop works very well. The problem is that the cooling fan works at all times. Rarely it turned off.

I've done and that you check this box:

-Version of the BIOS. It is upgraded to the latest version. 5DCN40WWW date: 10/10/2012, extracted from msinfo32

    -Windows Update.

    -No viruses

    -Drivers Nvidia update

-Process. I looked for a process that could cause this behavior, but all are less than 10% CPU occupancy.

Well, this is what I did. Anything you can suggest for me would be great.

    Kind regards.

    Thank you for your help.

Problem has been solved, I need to replace the thermal grease. All is well now.

  • Lenovo IdeaPad U300s, 400, cooling system

Hi, I was wondering how the cooling system is good on the next U300s or 400.  I ask this question because my thinkpad T61 heats up just to watch a movie or play games.  I know that Lenovo has come with the new technology of permeable air keyboard.  But I was wondering, these machines come with good cooling systems (i.e. they won't feel so hot that my hand gets irritated on my thinkpad) and also they have built in fans? (because I know that some systems are fanless)

    Thank you

Hi lalaman and welcome to the community.

The units have a cooling fan in them.  The keyboard takes in air, and then it is discharged through a side wind and a vent near the hinges.

This method removes the inlet on the bottom, so has no danger of sitting in the machine on a bed or a pillow.  This should give you a very robust machine due to no slots cut down.

As much as any heat retention anywhere remains to be seen, but apparently having input using the keyboard should solve a lot of problems of heat retention.

  • My HP laptop cooling fan does not work.

Okay, so. I have a HP Pavilion 1145sg g6. It worked fine all morning, and then I put sleep temporarily (about ten to twenty minutes). When I went to turn it on, the screen was black and he said something along the lines of

"the system has detected that a cooling fan does not work correctly. Suite operation is not recommended at this time... may result in unpredictable behavior that may result closed random, loss of data or damage the system as possible. »

Then after a few seconds it stops completely. There is an option to continue with the summary of the system and I clicked once on it, but she didn't go through completely for allowing me to use my laptop properly (I arrived at my wallpaper and it stopped).

This has never happened before, and I never had any problem with my laptop, like this before. I have had him since last August, and it worked pretty well through until today. Of course, the system sometimes, accused but nothing serious, for the most part just aggravating.

    How can I fix?

Someone said here that they stung the fan with a hairpin and it started working. I took a toothpick and switched my laptop and tried to move the fan and the fan started WALLA on! I noticed that a lot of dust in there and that's probably the culprit first event hough I keep this laptop clean every day, this darn dust is sneaky and small. If you use a toothpick, make sure not to break anything especially the toothpick. last thing you want to do is cause more harm. Now that I think I don't remember when the last fan worked and if it wasn't for the message that popped up today I would not of the same notice I wasn't to hear the fan because last week I said "wow is not the substance of this portable super hot feeling", but I just thought that my fiance was simply playing games on the computer for too long and that's why he was hot. He never closes the computer off smh. in any case, I'm very happy I read this post of a person using the PIN to hair. That's what forums are all about. Help each other. I hope it works for you. Be gentle, try pushing the way fan propellers in clockwise. Use a flashlight to see if dust or anything like that is by the way to allow the fan to run its on.  I blew in the vents, but it did have almost all of the dust of the road.  All of these messages, it seems this is a common problem. Good luck

  • Re: Tecra M11 sudennly freezes and the cooling fan starts to run

My Tecra M11 laptop is running Windows7 and with a broadband dongle Telstra wireless internet lights up and works normally for a period of time.

Sudennly it freezes completely and 5 seconds later the cooling fan starts to run until I power off using the power button.
    Clues?
    Thank you

You must understand that on this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
I can imagine that some background process starts and increase the use of the CPU at the critical level when the motherboard sensors register at higher temperature of the processor and cooling fan starts to run fast enough.

Try to check in the Task Manager, if something like that happen.

I put t know how you have configured your operating system and to applications that run in the background, but also to try to stop treatments that you don't need and change some settings.

  • Qosmio F30-112: cooling fan runs very fast

    Hello

I want someone ask them, my computer laptop qosmio F30 - 112 recently whenever I start my computer, I heard that the cooling fan runs very fast (I mean) it wasn't stop differently than before his execution smooth only I heard when I play games but not continuous, then after that my computer now running slow.

Can someone help me what im going to do?

    Thanks: rtmasagca

    Hello

F30 is a little older series laptop I think about 3 years or more... you cleaned the cooling modules in the meantime?
I think there is a lot of dust and debris inside the laptop and I think that keeps air from traffic and therefore fans run faster.
Try the compressed air jet that should help to remove dust and debris.

    Good luck

    Hello

I got a Satellite A200-1CK and stop my CPU cooling fan. Not that my CPU is not getting enough cooling. But when I use my laptop to school for use for OS virtualization, it heats up, and the cooler will not turn.

The CPU cooler is broken or is it just a setting in the bios?

    Hello

I recently bought a C650 and find that the cooling fan will continue to run, even if the laptop is not too hot.

My Toshiba Power Saver setting is Plugged In: optimized battery.
I can't run the Toshiba Power Saver in the C:\Program folder.
Is this a software or registry setting or warranty issue?

    Can anyone help please.
    Thanks in advance.

    > Is this a software or registry setting or warranty issue?
To my knowledge, software issues not covered by the warranty.

But just a question; you have the latest version of the BIOS?
The fan table that controls the fan activity is stored in the BIOS, so you must make sure that your BIOS is up to date.

    > I can not run the Toshiba Power Saver in the C:\Program folder.
I guess you have a Win 7 OS running on this laptop.
The Toshiba Power Saver is a part of the Windows 7 power management. Therefore, the settings within the Windows 7 power management.

I had similar problem with my fan. Improve the management of the power of Win 7 as described here:

The doc describes Vista power management but it looks a lot like the Win 7s

How can I test the operation of the cooling fan?
what you recommend me to do?
    Help, please.

    CONCERNING

    Hello

As far as I know, you can find a lot of applications to test and maintain the fan settings.
But it is very dangerous because by using this software you change the thermal management of your laptop. These programs are not supported by Toshiba, for any damage caused by this program is not covered by the warranty.

YOU USE THIS PROGRAM AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The only issue is the Toshiba Service partner, but
    Contact them again.

  • Tecra A8 - cooling fan runs constantly

Have a new Tecra A8 (PTA83E) with core 2 duo 1.66 and Vista professional. I try some power management settings, but fan still works at low speed, it never stops even if the laptop is idle and cold.

Is this normal? On my old laptop fan works only if necessary...

    Hello

Fans are running because the laptop has to be cooled.
Believe me; the laptop would not cold if the fans would go not constantly at the lower speed.
I think it is? s better if the fans are running constantly, gently and slowly at low speed as sometimes loudly and jerked.

    What do you think???

  • Qosmio X 70-A - performance cooling fans

I can say with joy that this laptop is very well done and to make happiness perfectly but it would be very nice if you could either give free fan control or correct.

Laptop computer quickly becomes too hot and this would be fine if it could be refined a bit so that 60 degrees would be almost fan begins to rotate faster and 70 degrees completely fast.

The fan gets only at full steam 90 degrees which is abnormal and I think that this could lead to damage part

Message has been modified: translation has been added

Each laptop model has some cooling system designed for the hardware platform of the laptop and it is tested, so I think there is no reason to panic.
Is that Qosmio laptops have the best material on the inside so it is possible that the system is set to cool with the performance of the fans more.

I don't know what objectives do you need your Qosmio, but if use you it for daily activities such as internet office and write emails, you can use the power saver power plan and change advanced power settings. I think that this will reduce the cooling fan activity and your laptop runs much quieter.

  • Cooling fan continues to operate on the Z30B Satellite after installing Win 10

The cooling fan is permanently after the upgrade to Windows 10.
This is the case for the symmetric mode, but also in ECO mode (activated on the touchpad).

The two modes are defined in passive when running on battery cooling...

I tried to activate/disable relevant power settings in Win 10 and the ECO utility, but the fan continues to run: it seems that if Win10 is reversing the Toshiba ECO utility.

Everything worked perfectly before the upgrade.

This problem can be resolved, or do I have to wait for an update of the Toshiba utility?

    / Breinholm

I don't know if it will help, but try to reinstall the ECO utility.

    THIS Version 1.10
Temperature CPU Fan of 46% 53% speed

Hi, just bought this laptop (5 days), the cooling fan is not turned off, the computer feels cool so don't know why it has run all the time. Read other articles on the upgrade of the BIOS but wouldn't go the upgrade in case missed me something obvious. It is a laptop replacement after the last Toshiba laptop (3 weeks old) no longer works in total. Prefer if possible to fix this with the help, rather than lose the computer for 3/4 weeks for repair, any advice would be greatly received.
    Thank you

I put t know how you use your laptop computer but try to please use it with balanced power management. Change coolant also option method of optimized battery option. Cooling method you can find in the power options advanced > Toshiba Power saver settings.

    Please test and send feedback.

  • Re: Satellite L550 - cooling fan suddenly stopped working

About two weeks ago, I placed my laptop down on the ground. When I picked up two minutes later, there was an error on the screen that read something like "there is a problem with the cooling system, please contact your nearest centre of Toshiba. Since then, the cooling fan has failed.

I replaced the fan with a different, which also failed, then maybe the problem is the system not the fan? Is there some settings within the system that allows me to manually turn the fan on and off?

    > I replaced the fan with another
Which means that replace you it with another model?
Well, I think that another model of fan will never work because notebooks are specific products designed for certain series/models only. This allows you to change the t as well as on desktop computers.

In my opinion, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. Guys can replace the fan and order a new one. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

    See you soon
