Levels of gray (SLG) in HUE

Hello

I have a very simple question: after processing the images from my camera, I get grayscale images (SGL). I would like to colorize images with a cyclic color palette (Type TINT woul be perfect!).

Simple ideas? ;-)

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards

Mathias

Unfortunately no, look at this:

I have a Photosmart C4280 printer. I want to make thrifty use of my ink cartridges when printing documents (as opposed to photos). I generally use the quick project and grayscale for documents option. Can I use ink less or more if I used the quick project with the option of black ink?

More economical printing would quickly the project and black ink only.  Grayscale setting uses the color cartridge to print in grayscale, because it offers better quality.  The quality is better with shades of gray, but it uses more ink.

  • Levels of gray to CMYK conversion issue?

Hi, I have a print job that is currently using a tiff in grayscale for black printing.

My problem is that I need to add a spot color. When I convert tiff CMYK it splits values among all 4 channels.

Does anyone know how convert a grayscale in CMYK tiff file, but keep the black of the gray-scale right on the K channel.

Or I can flatten the CMYK channels and get them on the K only.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated

    Antony

I'm not sure that's what you're after, but consider this:

Choose Edition > color settings > CMYK > Custom > Black generation > maximum

When you change the Mode of the b & w tiff CMYK image will deliver in K

Return to your normal configuration when the project is complete, so that future work will not be affected.

  • my hp officejet 6700 stopped printing in color. the levels of gray is OFF. Help.

I have HP Officejet all-in-one Premium 6700, use Windows 7 64-bit; no error message; just will not print in color. Use a black non Hp cartridge, which ceased all impressions; bought the new black 932XL cartridge; now the printer prints, but only in color B & W, other cartridges are HP and will not empty (1/2 full). Advanced grayscale setting is DISABLED. Still will not print in color. All the test pages are B & W. diagnosis & questions do not address this problem.

For the problems of quality of printing, such as missing colors, there is a document located here with steps to help solve the problem.

In addition, if you print a Page of Test of autonomy of the device it also print without color in color blocks?

    I hope this helps.

I was wondering if there is an easier way to quickly change from grayscale to color.  With my old HP printer, I had only to click twice to change color, but on this new I have to click several times, preferences-advanced-disable grayscale.  Most of our print (since we removed) is done with grayscale to save ink.  Is there something I'm missing or not correctly do?  Not a life threatening problem, just annoying.  Thanks, Twinkie3

    Hello

Unfortunaterly, you must go to the tab advanced change colors in grayscale or vice versa. You can use the properties of the printer to print, this will save one or two clicks.

  • Acer screen k272hulbmiidp gray

Hi I'm looking for some feedback on what could be the cause of the following question on my k272hulvmiidp. When I have the monitor connected to the windows or my MacBook Pro laptop by display port, the screen will become completely grayscale except the video playing on it. Happened whenever I have play a video on youtube in 1080 p and have the video works is not in full screen. Also, this would happen when I play 1080 p inside VLC in windowed mode. The rest on the desktop windows come in levels of gray and the color video. The strange thing is that this happens in the Mac OS as well as windows 7. It must be something with the monitor, but I have no idea what setting might be causing it. The MacBook Pro is running graphic iris intel and nvidia gtx 760 mobile running laptop. Devices probably have enough energy to drive the video monitor, but I am at a loss to why the screen goes gray and video remains in color through poster port. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you. That's what was causing problems on the screen. All together now.

  • Problems with the 'levels' of control... it is

After I move the sliders levels (black, gray, white) and the preview looks good, I click OK and the image returns to its pre-set state.

For example, I try to gray to black in a jpg of a design, and it looks great in the preview but drops back to its original state after accepting the previewed change.

I know that there must be something I'm not set up to do this, but I don't know what!

    Any help will be appreciated.

    I use PS CS5 with Mac 10.9,5

    Thank you.

Yes, looks like some bad adjustment needs are engaged.

You can try to reset the Photoshop preferences. Here are the steps:

    1. quit Photoshop

    2. open Finder

    3. click Go (in the menu bar), and choose go to folder

    4. type in ~/library and click on Go.

    5 open the folder Preferences

    6. move the Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings folder on the desktop.

Otherwise, you can follow the steps in this article to restore preferences:

    Using Photoshop | Preferences

Then, re - open Photoshop and try to add levels.

Let us know if that helps.

    Kind regards.

  • How to change the color of text that is only gray?

My Photoshop text color is that gray and I'm doing it is red, but it will always be black please help?

What is your document mode? If his levels of gray in all colors will be shades of gray.

  • In RGB mode, why paste 50% gray in a layer mask actually put K 59% in the mask?

Create a new (small) document in RGB mode, 8-bit, transparent background.

Fill the layer 1, resulting with 50% gray, 100% opacity.  The reports = (128,128,128) RGB eyedropper.

Copy the layer to the Clipboard.

Create a new layer 2. Fill it with green #00ff00 (content doesn't really count).

Add a layer mask to the layer 2.

    Wear this mask during installation.

Paste the contents of the Clipboard.  The pipette noted the content of the mask as K 59%.

    I expect 50% gray (or K 50%). Why have I not 59% K?

    Additives:

I'm using CS3 on Mac. I didn't get to see if the same thing happens with newer versions of PS.

Apply the layer mask in the layer 2. Excerpt from the transparency in a new layer.  The pipette gives the RGB of the

    new layer as (106,106,106), with pixel-by-pixel variations plus/minus 1.

Take the difference between this new layer and layer 1; the pipette gives the RGB difference as (22,22,22),

Once again with variations of plus/minus 1.

Paste the contents of the Clipboard into a new layer.  The pipette gives this new RGB content

layer as (128,128,128), both without and with a black & white adjustment applied.

Create a new layer, add a layer mask, fill the mask with 50% gray. The pipette gives the content of

the new title (128,128,128) (now as expected) master.

The 50% gray used above is just for simplicity. I am really interested in inserting a complicated RGB

image containing only shades of gray in the layer mask. This example shows that the collage will not

preserve the levels of gray. Indeed, when I replace the first 50% of grey with a black and white gradient.

the differences between the initial gradient and in the mask included roughly quadratic between 0 to 0,

    22 128 and 0 to 255.

It is a grayscale image, interpreted according to your work of gray.

Use Gray Gamma 2.2 and you will get 50%.

EDIT: actually I think you could use sGray, who has the accurate sRGB transfer function - which is not strictly a pure gamma. But it wouldn't be right with for example Adobe RGB.

  • Shade of color shows ONLY shades of gray on the gradient layer...?

My color chart seems to be defaulting to only shades of gray on a gradient layer, and I can just find a way to let him replace the color I chose.  After that I created a new layer of gradient fill, when I have the layer selected in the layer list on the right side of the screen, color samples show ONLY gray.  If I click on the sample, it brings up the color selector, but no matter what color I select, the swatch shows shades of gray.  If I select the background layer, it goes back to show my color.

There's probably a simple explanation to this problem, but I was searching Google for literally hours without finding an answer.  I found some similar questions have the response "go to Image, Mode, and make sure that RGB is selected."  Mine is already set to RGB, so it's not the question.

How can I change the colors in a gradient fill layer, and why my color chart displays grayscale only when I selected gradient fill layer, even if by clicking on the color chart reveals the color picker?

To change/edit the gradient colors, double click on the thumbnail of the gradient in the layers panel fill

Then in the gradient fill box, click just to the right of the gradient word to change the colors

In the gradient editor, click one of the stages of the color at the bottom of the gradient bar and click color to change the color of this judgment

There is much more to the gradient to the room Editor to explain on the forum, so you can view the following for more information

    Using Photoshop | Gradients

The reason for which continues to show your color in levels of gray, is the layer mask is still active with adjustment layers in photoshop elements and layer masks are grayscale

  • Is it possible to convert specific pages in gray scale in a PDF?

We got a job for our client on PDF printing. Probably created in Word. It is about 3/4 color and the rest black and white. Problem is that Word creates "intense Black", which triggers a color printing on our color copier. If it was made in InDesign and done properly, it would be just K and the copier which recognize and give us a black click only. Obviously, color costs that many clicks more black clique if I want to specify say pages 50-53, 58-59, 66-78 etc and convert only these pages in real gray-scale so that the machine can recognize as grayscale and give us a black click. Is this possible?

    Acrobat Pro X 10.1.7 on OS x 10.8

    Thank you!

I have created Preflight > Fixup for this scenerio a couple of times.

I found that if the area of the document (or type?) was the RGB, that as shown will not work. I have a version for rgb, but just converted the document to CMYK when I finally ran it.

Any correction seems to apply to the entire document. (@Adobe - why?) Let me define a range of pages in the page range area)

Transfer pages from one to the other after that use would be necessary, but less expensive than Pitstop for occasional use.

I expect that the Copier, driven by a TEAR, allow page ranges to be defined as cmyk or grayscale.

With our Fiery I use mixed to set levels of gray in a joint task. (Joint is not available if however imposing in the INVESTIGATION period)

  • help, change white 100% transparent, transparent 50% Gray 50%, 0% transparent black? photo examples

How should I take a black and white photo like this:

    http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc361/xekon/grey_zpsb7b193a3.png

and convert it to various levels of gray are different levels of transparency like this:

    http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc361/xekon/grey-opac_zpsc92a055b.png

I need converted as shown above, because I want the background colors of a web page to come through the image.

I can't use simply magic wand to remove white, because I'm really eager to spend some colors although the levels of gray. The darker the gray level, less color going through.

So if you took the original and convert it, you get this kind of effect when its sitting on a red color of web page:

    Source language:

    http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc361/xekon/grey-bg_zps433287cd.png

    transparent:

    http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc361/xekon/grey-opac-bg_zps5efed620.png

The photos above, I did as you can see. but these are objects simple rectangle and I did split the image into different layers, a layer for each different amount of gray bar, and then I changed the opacity for each layer respectively.

I can't exactly cut a picture when there is a greater variety of grey levels in the more complex images such as this one:

    http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc361/xekon/logo_zps0c354824.png

So far my searches have not answered the question, most describe how to blend two images to get a similar result, but the background must be mixed in photoshop. (I need to mix effect occur regardless of what uses of the Web page background color, so I just need to convert levels of transparency only.) After hours of wading through the material, trying to find an answer I hope get help from good people on the forums here, or perhaps a link to a tutorial showing how do.

What I need to make the impression that it should be a fairly simple task if you know your way around photoshop, I use photoshop for years, but I've never needed to do something like this before.

What you're saying is that you want a picture that mixes varying amounts of black in all that he appears above?

Copy your image, create a new document of the same size with a black fill layer, then create a layer for the fill layer mask.  Now target the layer mask, then go to the control panel strings and choose the channel mask and make it visible.  Now paste your image and Image - adjustment - invert (because black is transparent).

  • Change an icon images to grayscale or color levels when it is disabled/enabled

I have a button in my application that is configured to be active when a tilelist (profile1EntertainmentAddLinksTilelist) has at least 1 point in it. I have a text but also a color icon in this button.

I currently have 2 functions of code 'convertToGrayscale()' which converts components into levels of gray and 'convertToColor()' which converts the components to the color.

What I want is so that when it is clicked the convertToColor apply to it even when disabled convertToGrayscale would apply to it.

I know there is a 'enabled' property in the buttons, but is not to be a fundamental property of "disabled".

Another problem is, within my button, I already have an enabled property so that when the tilelist component with a component, only then is enabled. Is it possible to add the convertToColor function in the property enabled so that it is activated when the tilelist component has more than 1 point in it that the button is enabled AND it converts the color? This is the bit I'm struggling with that.

    Enabled = "{profile1EntertainmentAddLinksTilelist.SelectedItem}" "

This solution uses the change and valueCommit event.

  • Setting levels of ink for newspaper in Photoshop

I have a number of images, the goal will be for use in publications of the journal. I learn to adjust the images (color and grayscale) for the printing features web, which mainly involves the desity ink to 240% down and making it point max on a mono color 80%, which includes the images in grayscale. My question is what is the best way to account for this. I converted the images using the specific profiles that adjust for this in Photoshop, but in some cases, more precisely in grayscale images, I have one more point over 80%. It would be correct that I should go back and draw the color manually (with curves) to adjust the 20%, or Photoshop does something with the profile that I use to convert that takes care of this?

    The Octagon wrote:

Do color conversion seems to work very well, but the levels of gray is where I'm still having a problem. I had a CMYK image, set my profile to grayscale for fattening of 20% and after conversion, I still see on a 95% point in the darker areas. I think what confuses me is that Photoshop adjusts the appearace of the image to reflect a fattening of 20%. Does this mean that when I converted my profile that the values that I find both are earning points has occurred? If I find a point of 74%, it really was 54%? I put a sampling of color on a spot which read to 94%. When I went from the profiles to a point 30% of gain, the number rose to 88%. -What is sense?

Dot readings that you reflect the value true file.

When you convert Photoshop gray tries to preserve the appearance of the brightness. 10 fattening and fattening 30 reflect different print conditions, but they appear very similar to the screen. But the 30 fewer than the 10 ink coverage. Photoshop is trying to explain further in the case of print 30 gain, while the images appear identical, but in fact they are not the same. To check ink coverage go to filter: blur: average. You will see that a 10 point gain actually has more coverage than a gain of 30 points.

All that being said, I don't know why you would need a limit of 80 ink on shades of gray. My guess would be 95. You can do this with a simple curve and shoot 100% downwards until you reach the desired level of ink in the shadow areas. You can even make the curve of a nondestructive adjustment layer.

It is sometimes difficult to find the darkest area. In a grayscale image's levels. Hold down the option key and drag from left to right. The parts of the image that begin to appear are your very dark areas.

For the newspaper halftones, in addition to the cover of the shadow's 1/4 and in the middle of gain. This area makes a lot on a rotating and the stock of newsprint. The values here flatten as they go to 3/4 and the image turns into mud. Sometimes 3/4 lock and slide down the 1/4 of your help, it's something like a curve in s with a restraint on the shadows. You could even incorporate this with your dot boundary curve, so just a curve. Highlights may suffer but they will suffer in all cases, stock journal is grey after all.

One profile, I use sometimes is called identity of Gray. You will not it, but all you have to do to simulate ink coverage is going to Lab mode, select the L channel, and then go grayscale. This retrieves the L channel and the poster with your gray working. If your grey work is not the grey journal, then perform a convert to profile to the grey of the newspaper. The appearance of the image on the screen will stay the same, but the file numbers will adjust for the higher gain of the newspaper printing condition.

Sharpness is instrumental in the halftone good newspaper too. Who comes last, after all the curve adjustment. Sharpness may push up of ink from the ink values for small edges, but that's what you want. You don't want to destroy with curves after sharpening.
