Our photos were in iPhoto and Aperture until the upgrade to El Capitan. Photo and the opening are now gone. Is it possible to include both of these libraries in Photos of El Capitan? (When I added the second library of Photos, the first library disappeared.)

Import of several in a "single" lbrary Photos iPhoto libraries
Several libraries of iPhoto in (1) import only library Photos?. I would like to combine all my "iPhoto" libraries in the new library 'Photos '.
Photos can open each of your iPhoto libraries in turn, but it cannot merge libraries.
If you have access to Aperture, merge your iPhoto library using Aperture, before converting to the libraries of Photos.
If you use iCloud photo library and sign up for enough cloud storage to organize all of your photos, you can merge libraries in iCloud. If you designate each library in our as your iCloud photo library, all photos will be publish iCloud and sync to your current library, so the last library you use as the iCloud photo library will hold all the photos and albums. But it will take a paid subscription iCloud, if your libraries are large.
Otherwise, you will need to export photos from the separate libraries and import in the library merged.
You can simplify this by investing in a PowerPhotos. It allows you to browse several libraries of Photos in a convenient way of having to open the pictures and move photos between libraries. You can merge libraries and keep records and metadata tags.

Help deleting photos duplicated in photos &; Iphoto
I'm looking to remove (thousands of) unwanted duplicate from my mac photos. I understand that the Photos and iphoto share the same original photo file in order not to duplicate these and create more clutter on my hard drive. I also understand that the removal of a photo of Photos does not iPhoto (which keeps the image on my hard drive) delete it. Is someone can you please tell me if both share the same library? I see a library that looks like this on my HD: Iphoto Library.photolibrary. I thought delete the iphoto application and its library (after a backup) and working on the Photos application library cleaning to permanently purge all unwanted photo files. (I don't want to purge the photos at two stages of creation of the work twice). I then just use the photos as my main photo resource app and let iphoto behind. I guess my main question is, are there two separate libraries? And if so where can I find them in order to delete the iphoto library without harming the photo library? I see also that there are various photo in double eliminator software programs but whatever the big question is how really to delete unwanted files from the HD of my Mac? Thanks, Larry
. Is someone can you please tell me if both share the same library?
Photos and iPhoto have different libraries, because the formats are different.
You a reveal the current photo in the Finder library, if you open the Photos > Preferences. In the "General" preferences tab is a button 'show in Finder '. This button will reveal your current library, you don't need to remove. Your iPhoto library will be in the same folder, unless you have moved it.
I would like to make a backup copy of your library on an external drive iPhoto, before remove you it from your system disk. This way you will be able to start from your iPhoto, problems library. I would not delete the application iPhoto in the Applications folder. Apple stopped selling iPhoto and I very hard to get it back. You may need it later if you need to detect the problem of your library that can only be fixed in iPhoto.

Best practices for large libraries of Photos.
What is the best way to manage the photos using photographs, when the library is too big to fit on the disc inside.
It will work for adding new photos.
(1) copy the photos again to an external or an NAS drive.
(2) in Photos:-Preferences > general Deselect import.
(3) importation of external, or NAS, walk in pictures.
It would seem that this leaves the new pictures on the external, or NAS, by car, but retains the database on the internal drive of the Mac. New photos appear in Photos as if they were in the photo library on the internal disk of Mac? Publishes new photos the same as if they were on the internal drive to the Mac?
Will this work?
The management point of view there are two issues here, how to manage a library existing which is too big, the second is the addition of new photos, but to keep on an external or NAS drive. Any thoughts on how to unload existing photos in the Photos, but leave them in the photo library. Any thoughts?
It would seem that, if selected, iCloud should save the pictures on the external hard drive. Is this correct?
Photos, especially if iCloud photo library is running, do not work well with NAS.
There is no problem with the move your library of Photos consolidated on an external drive.
Everything you need yo do after move is to double-click it to 'teach' pictures where it is now located. Do not always have this drive and running before launching Photos or it will create a new library on the boot disk.

Photos says my aperture migrated library, but I can't find my photos
I just upgraded to El Capitan OS. I was with opening for pictures before and now I can't access my photos. Photos says migrated from the library, but I can't find my photos. Help!
What version of Aperture were you running, you may still be able to use it.
Normally the Aperture library is stored in your pictures folder.
You can hold down the option/alt key while opening the Photos and you should get a dialog
"Choose library", you can select your Aperture library, and your images will be imported in Photos.

Cc2015 with Lightroom on mac Photo HDR merge only translates into a black
In lightroom on mac cc2015 Photo HDR merging only results in a black preview and fusion in a black - HDR.dng.
What Miss me?
Several people have reported problems with Photo > Photo merge in CC 2015.2, with no workaround reported:

If you are on 2015.2 or 2015.2.1, your best bet is to do what many, many others have made and revert to the last stable version, 2015.1.1: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-roll-back-to-lightroom-2015-1-1-or-lightroom-6-1-1/

I have lightroom 5 and I'm trying to merge some pictures to make a panorama, I saw on the tutorial there is a function under the photos to merge into panorama. I do not see this option in my lightroom 5, it is something new in Lightroom 6? I don't have photoshop.
Hi santanu_rudra,
The Photomerge option is available in 6 of Lightroom, and not in Lightroom 5.

Importing Photos iPhoto library
I watched the improvements coming from the Photos app for several months and I'm ready to take the plunge to move my 30 k iPhoto library more photos to Photos. I do not use any storage cloud based. I have my iPhoto on my local disk library, saved on a disk external hard connected through time machine, as well as a complete copy on another external hard drive. I spent a lot of time marking the faces; that is the most important for me and I want to make sure that they give. What is the best way to get all my current iPhoto library metadata to the new photo library?
I know I ask a simple question, but I'm being too cautious with that. Thanks for any help you can provide.
To migrate your iPhoto library to a library of Photos for the first time all you have to do is drag the icon in the Dock of Photos in the iPhoto library. Who will migrate your iPhoto library to a library of Photos and place it in the same folder as your iPhoto library. Should not be used twice the space on your hard drive for Photos uses hard links to access the photos used to create the iPhoto library. These two documents describe how hard links work:
Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture - Apple Support libraries

I have a computer brand new with Windows 7 Home Premium OS, but none of the libraries work. When I click on any one of them (music, videos, images or Documents), I get the same message: "Music.library - ms" is no longer. This library can be removed safely from your computer. Will not suffer folders that have been added.
If my computer and the operating system is new, why would something NOT working? Thanks for any help.
I don't know why it wouldn't work, but here's how to restore them:
1 remove all your libraries (it doesn't delete any of your files in libraries)
2. right click on the word 'Libraries', on the left side of any window to the Solution Explorer, then chooserestore default libraries
