Libraries of songs

I just discovered that in iTunes Media, I have two collections of songs that are not totally identical. I have a folder called iTunes songs and called music and I do not remember that I created and which could have been created by iTunes. So what is the normal folder?

And, at some point, I'll need to combine then... is there a way to do it automatically, or what I have to do the thorough which is a?

On the iTunes library files - https://support.apple.com/HT201610 - does not mention that a complete library of work also includes other files and also files in the iTunes folder.

For a folder 'Songs', this is not standard iTunes and must be something that you have created in the past. There is no easy way and clean for dealing with the media in different places, this is why you need to either be extremely organized, or you should never do anything in the iTunes folder.

You can consolidate your present library to the location of the folder media.

The problem with this is to consolidate only places one copy multimedia files in the main folder of the media, it does not move them.  You can simply delete the folder of songs and hope that he had nothing in there that iTunes was already familiar.  If you think he could have then you can add files to your iTunes library and process duplicates, one by one if it turns out those that you already added copies in the library.

  • After that update firmware is there something else to do for libraries over 5000 songs?

I have tried several things to reading all the forums pages... lots of good info...

I did update the firmware and I don't think that the "rocket" is the playback of the songs on the 16 GB card.  It reads a bit... I can see them all in windows, but not on the "rocket". I looked at msc and mpt mode. I downloaded mp3tag and all tags are ID3v2.3 ISO 8859-1.

I also deleted a bunch of songs and set the "rocket" in msc mode and wmp11 past and thru my documents made to drag files directly to the card... way of 16Go easier than WMP11 with the synch thing.

Once she regenerated media... I could not access it on the "rocket"... it's like they aren't there. Yet, I can look in my documents and see all the files on the 16 GB card.

I did it too: in MSC mode, try to delete the file mtable.sys in the root directory.

I read that below of the firmware update page and my question is probably stupid... and I'm new to this forum.

I can see through windows that I have about 5800 songs on the rocket and the memory card. Most are on the "rocket" 8 GB.    I have format as stated below for more than 4,000 files libraries?

Song database supports up to 8000 songs (requires separate peripheral format via the settings menu for more than 4000 library files)

    Thanks for your help

In the settings menu, go to system settings and scroll up to where it says Format. This is what the phrase "song database supports up to 8000 songs (requires the format separate device via the settings menu for more than 4000 library files)" means. Using the Format command will delete all the songs from your rocket, so make sure they are still on your computer first... but in addition to erasing the songs on the "rocket", it optimizes the memory of rocket somehow in order to allow the 8000 songs, as opposed to the 4000 that it supported before. Once this is done, make sure you are in MSC mode and drag and drop all your songs back on, and everything should be fine. Good luck!

  • Songs are not in alphabetical order

I just updated my iphone 5 to ios10 and I realized that the songs in my music are further organized in alphabetical order by song title, but by the artist. I think it's really complicated to find a song that I like since I usually search by the title of the song and not the artist.

Is there a way to sort the songs in alphabetical order by titles of songs instead of artists?

    Thank you.

(Hope that makes sense, English is my third language)

Go into settings, then music. Under libraries, click sort and albums

  • iTunes update computer libraries "not recognized".

New update of iTunes (12.4.1.6) caused iTunes to no longer recognize the libraries on my computer.  I was able to reload the libraries, but playlists are lost.  I think that something like this happened with the last update, put everything on the cloud (which I don't).  It's different.  How the recognition of the library which existed before the update to restore or transfer the information from the iPhone to the computer (including playlists)?  Thank you.

I have a similar problem.  All my playlists disappeared and 99% of my content is not displayed.  The songs are all there - I can see them in folders.  I followed the procedure to try to use a previous .itl file, but iTunes simply creates a new empty an overtime I start.

Unless you're 'home sharing', which he does not seem like you are, two libraries (macbook and iMac) are distinct, so a change does not affect the other.  Best way to test would be to remove a few songs you can download easily and see if it changes.  But I don't think it will be a problem.

  • iTunes media recording folder do not songs

Hi, a little a technophobe here so apologies if this is a stupid question...

I had iTunes for years and he always saved my music in the iTunes Media folder. Yesterday, I lost all my music when I restored my phone to iCloud (my friend says that it is impossible to lose the music during this process, but I can't find it anywhere). First of all, I went to 'previous libraries' but for some reason any later than one saved from 2014 and even then, when I clicked on it, nothing happens. I then went in the media folder, and there was a lot of music around 2014, but nothing since. I don't know why he has continued to record music. I went into preferences in iTunes, then advanced, and the area where it is said that he will save the music in this folder is checked, then it should always be the case.

Could someone please help. And if anyone happens to know where this lack of music would be (about 300 songs), it would be even nicer! Some of the songs were purchased in iTunes and some have been trained on CD - I don't know if that makes a difference. My software iTunes & phone are both updated.

    Thank you very much

Maybe you had already moved your library or iTunes media folder to a different location? See the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library for steps to restore an old construction of the .itl if necessary. See Open a different iTunes library file or create a new one - Apple Support and make sure that iTunes opens the correct .itl to start with. If must be search the entire computer for the files of the form *.itl. You're going to seek one more recently changed before that you've apparently lost your media. I hope that everything is still there.

  • IPOD Touch - not all songs play without WIFI?

Synchronize all my songs to our new IPOD touch by connecting IPOD to computer/ITunes, try to understand why some songs will play without WIFI and some (those who play will not have the little icon of the Ipod).  I thought he had to do if the song was purchased on ITunes, but not true.  I click on the button "Icloud", he turns to a circle with a button, as it's the download, but then it stops 1/2 way through.

    Try the following steps:

    On your computer:

    1. If you registered for the Apple's music, you can activate the library music iCloud.
    2. Click on the iTunes menu > Preferences.
    3. Scroll down and check the "show Apple music and iCloud music library check boxes.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Select all the pieces and add them to your library of music to iCloud.
    6. Once songs have been added to your iCloud music library, you can activate iCloud library of music on your iPod touch.
    7. On your iPod touch, tap Settings > music.
    8. Scroll down and tap on iCloud music library.
    9. A dialog box appears asking you if you want to murge your local and libraries of clouds or replace the library of your iPod with the library of cloud.
    10. Click on replace.

    To download songs:

    1. Open the music application.
    2. Press the tab my music at the bottom of your screen.
    3. Choose the songs, artists, albums and genres you want to download.
    4. Songs, albums, artists and genres are in different categories.
    5. Slide downwards on each song, artist or album and click more.
    6. A dialog box appears on your screen.
    7. Click on download.
    8. Restart iTunes. Quit iTunes, then open it again.
    9. Restart your iPod touch if necessary.

    Good luck!

  • How to remove songs from my iTunes library?

I have two libraries of music on my new iMac, a call ON THIS COMPUTER and the other called MY LIBRARY.  I am trying to delete songs in MY LIBRARY list and nothing happens.  I've highlight it, hit delete and nothing happens.  Please help.

If you see these at the same time, it is possible, it is a library that is shared on another computer and can not be deleted.

  • When I turn my library of music in format mp3. I have duplicates.how can I know which songs are mp3

I have a mp3 player.i sansa player - tunes doesn't recognize Sansa, so I need to transfer my music in windows media player. to do this I need to convert all my music in mp3 format.when I do that, then I can burn all my music and import to wmp.question is that when I convert to format mp3, how will I know which songs are mp3?

You can create a smart playlist which, for example, collecting files converted based on the date that they are added to the library. It depends on how you want to proceed. If you want to permanently convert, I have a script called ConvertFormat which range the originals after conversion. Alternatively, you can temporarily change your media to the converted files folder are stored in a folder of new media, then once the process is complete you may add these files to your WMP library, reset the media in iTunes folder and delete the new additions to iTunes library, thus separating the two libraries.

  • Where can I report a broken / bad songs and albums on Apple music?

I'm trying the Apple music but already found a couple of broken songs (for example shorter than it should be, at 03:00 the song only plays at 01:28 and ends abruptly).

RDIO, Deezer and Rdio (now fire) have dedicated teams to take care of their libraries and to ensure that metadata are correctly applied to the press and the media are, at least, fill.

Is there a best channel to report those "community forums"?

No Apple is allowed to respond here.

You can try their comments page, but do not know if this will help.

Currently with music music/iCloud Apple library there are "issues" of the way in which it matches music files. There are many discussions here and in other forums on this particular issue. Apple knows about the problem and are working on a solution - had this from two different technicians to Apple BTW. But when it will be resolved is anybody's guess.

  • repair of iTunes - fusion of the xml files or combine libraries

My iTunes xml I messed up a little bit and now all my old songs have the same Date added date, if they have been added to 4 years ago or on 02/07/15.

Titles added after 02/07/15 have correct dates.

I am trying to find the better (not necessarily the easiest) way to fix them.

It is important for me because I sort my titles by date added.

I have a huge library and can change them one by one in the xml file.

I think that the ideal way to change the dates maybe with a script that would take the correct dates back to the old xml and replace the incorrect in the xml of the last.

However, I do not have such a script, and I don't know how to write one.

So my other option is to merge libraries.

I will do this on a separate drive in order not to spoil the libraries either old or new.

I have a bunch of backups, but had not noticed the problem posed by the until after all the backups had already been updated with new and incorrect files.

I also have a fully functional library on a player removed from my MBP dead last year.

So I now several copies of a messed library and an obsolete library containing the correct information.

If I had to start with the old library I would need then to add all new titles that were added last year on my new computer.

I can sort of filter by modification Date to clear the majority of them.

I know that iTunes has a feature to add to the library , but before I use it I want to make sure that will accomplish what I am trying to do.

I hope that someone with real experience in doing that reads my post.

Useful suggestions of someone else is appreciated.

Too bad (as if someone was actually going to answer).

I have since discovered that the added Date cannot be changed.

So now I have copied the old library on an external drive, made iTunes open this library, and then added everything in my current library which was not in the old library. I now have a library with the correct dates for the majority of the files, but all my files since August 2014 have now to the current Date added date.

Better to have 16 months from the incorrect dates of 6 years.
