  • LifeCam Cinema - LifeCam.exe has stopped working

Just got a new webcam MS LifeCam Cinema that I ordered, but unfortunately, the software crashes.  The question is not the device itself, because I can see the video in the video settings Live Messenger window, and the test microphone also works.  However, whenever I try to run the software LifeCam itself, I get the pointer for a second, and then it crashes and I get the message "LifeCam.exe has stopped working".

I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 x 64, completely up to date with windows update.  I uninstalled the driver from the CD and it redownloaded go web site (did not work).  I checked all the posts on what I could find, the most common suggestion was to uninstall the Nero software, but I don't have any Nero software installed.  Any help to get this thing to run would be really appreciated.  I want to especially this for video recording, to get the LifeCam program to work is essential.

How many other USB devices attached to this machine?  Are you using non-powered for connection hubs?  I assume that you have already tried to connect to a different USB port on your computer?  Rear ports are better than using all the front ports on most machines (due to wiring and connections, I think).  If you change the Windows ports will really rediscover your hardware and quickly (without downloading) reinstall drivers current.

  • LifeCam has suddenly stopped working after many years

Original title: problem with my Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000

Problem with my Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000.  I used my LifeCam several times when using Skype, but now it will not work.  I examined a large number of questions and answers that are listed in the support forum but nothing I found fixes my problem.  I am running Vista Home Premium on my HP #SR5050NX PC with a 32-bit operating system.  I used this webcam for many years without any problems, but now it will not work.  I reinstalled the current drivers on the Microsoft site and it appears in Device Manager that the drivers are correct for the LifeCam VX-6000 webcam.  When I try to open Microsoft LifeCam it locates my camera and the green light comes on but no picture.  When using Skype, he finds the camera LifeCam 6000 but gives me a message that it cannot use this device because it might already be in use by another application, but no other application works.  I have also a Cisco Webcam that I have in the past to select which camera I wanted to use while Skyping but he stopped working at the same time my LifeCam 6000 ceased.  I get the same message... This webcam cannot be used because it might already be in use.  The drivers are correct on this camera as well.  What can I do to fix this?

Thanks, I appreciate your help and your support!

  • LifeCam Studio has stopped working after the firmware update?

    Hi all.

I bought one of the new LifecamStudio 2 days ago. I installed the camera, following the instructions of course. At the end of installation, I was able to get my self in the window of the Lifecam software, up to now, no problem, the device worked. Suddenly, a pop-up message will appear, telling me that the firmware of the device should be upgraded, then I pressed OK. The update of the firmware started but was abandoned shortly with an errormessage, saying the upgrade was not successful. I tried to reinstall the firmware, but now he tells me Hat I have the latest firmware installed. The nproblem is therefore now that, when I instert my camera in USB port windows find the camera, but as soon as I start any program it uses the camera he's leaving a Lifecam icon (in the hardware Manager that is) to an unknown unit. Software Lifecam studio told me that there is no camera installed. I installed the camera on other computers without a bit of luck.

    / Stefan

    Fixed it :)
In the Device Manager under imaging devices I've seen "Webcam" - before the botched fw update, it said 'Microsoft LifeCam Studio' and was a diff driver.  I rolled back the driver (or if it does not work you can force it to use one of the program files \ lifecam) then reinstalled lifecam - my cam works now.  Now - what's the problem with this update utility and why it changes what is driving the camera uses?

  • Driver AMD stop works to start video

    Hello

For 2 months I have a problem with Skype when the video begins in the Skype application. The screen freezes for a short time, and then I get the message that my AMD display driver has stopped working and has been reset. It also happens if I just go to settings - video settings. The same problem is also described here: http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Skype-Crashes-Video-Driver/m-p/3240988/highligh...

I already tried to install different drivers AMD catalyst - 14.4, 13.12 and driver WHQL provided automatically from windows update. I also tried to completely delete Skype and re - install, I have also removed my webcams and re - install (MS Lifecam Studio and a Logitech Webcam). Everything nothing helped and showed exactly the same end result. I also did a full refresh of 8.1 to win with the inner function where all 3rd party applications to withdraw, without change.

In other applications such as the build in camera 8 Win and Teamviewer app webcams work fine.

I don't really know how to solve this problem. I'm happy for all the advice.

Please see a newspaper closed, more a result of run DirectX diagnostic.

Edit: 5600K - A8 APU where I use the integrated graphics card.

Just to check if this problem is only the latest versions of Skype, try to uninstall the version 6.18 and install the 6.14.0.104 version.

    Hello world.

My Lifecam VX-6000 stopped working a few months ago. When it is plugged in, it is detected as 'USB20 camera' and I have installed the drivers and software from the CD first, or search for a specific location with the drivers, Windows will say he can't find good drivers for the webcam.

I tried a fresh install of Windows XP without success.

    Hello

What happened when you tried the steps?

Is there any error messages, you can post in this thread?

    What have you tried already?

What is the PC brand and model?

If it failed on a new install of XP, the device may have failed.
