  I saw that too. For now, the workaround is that if you select 'Edit watermark,' when you are done editing be sure to reselect the same watermark. If you do not, the watermark menu will be empty.

  It seems to be a known bug that occurs only in the current version. If all goes well, it can be fixed in the next update. There is a page for her on the Photoshop/Lightroom Feedback site. I've added my vote to the page:

  Not because the LRDATA file is fair previews, what LR displays on your screen for a faster loading of the image and will be recreated. The previews only stored in the folder LRDATA is the basic overview created at time of importation for the display of thumbnails and previews of 1:1 for images that you have actually looked in the Loupe View or I guess that appears in the develop module.

  If you have several files on your system that have pictures in them and you select one of them that you have not looked at in a while, you will notice LR creation of previews for these images, there will be 3 white dots in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. It's LR creation of previews for the thumbnail view. If you scroll quickly in the grid view, you'll notice a few thumbnails of images are gray, until you stop scrolling, then the upper left tile will come in clear view and the white dots will appear on the other images.   If you switch to another folder that LR begins again create preview images in this folder. The total number of previews created and stored based on caching of the preview you have in the catalog settings dialog in the management of the files tab.

  If not, you need not the LR Previews.lrdata folder. Whenever LR is not very good this folder with a catalog he recreates it to store previews in.

  I thought I had a pretty good understanding of how best to use LR for my needs until I'm stuck in the search for answers to theses. Would be great if someone could help me.

  I store all my files from LR on my IMac and save them to an external drive. As I only use my IMac to post-process I have never encountered any problem with this procedure.

  NOW, I would like to delete the files from my IMac and simply not work on external drives. (having a second as a back up).

  That's if I started to question the process:

  -where are my edited files located?

  -How can I export my full catalog published to an external drive?

  I don't know if this makes sense. In the end, I would like to work from my external hard drive only and were all corrected images available.

  OK, there are many solutions to this.

  My solution is to download my photos on Flickr, so anyone can look at my pictures from any device. If there is no privacy, you can restrict who can allow to view the photos to only those you. There are other photo sharing services.

  Another solution is to use Lightroom CC and then anyone can view photos of most of the devices.

  All this (Flickr or creative cloud) can be managed inside Lightroom. Once you start to export pictures, you must handle this outside of Lightroom, you have created a new task for yourself and you want to use much more of your hard drive.

• Lightroom CC - edition in the external editor with images located on the external hard drive problems

  I have recently moved most of my image containing folders on external hard drive. In general, everything works smoothly in Lightroom (running latest CC). However, if I try to use an external editor of in Lightroom, I managed opening image in Photoshop CC if it is chosen. However, if I try to edit in a NIK Collection programs (i.e. Viveza 2) or affinity Photo I get error messages. The copy of Tiff is generated within lightroom, but at the spearhead of the external editor the following messages are met...

  • Viveza 2 - 'News file. Plist could not be opened"
  • Photo of affinity - "'could not open the file - / Volumes/4Tb iMac/2015-10-20-202036/Macintosh of the castle of my book 2 Backup/Backups.backupdb/Neil HD/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS5/Plug-ins.localized/Photoshop Filters.localized/Unsharp Mask.aip/Contents/Resources/he.lproj/InfoPlist.strings the file type is not supported.". " My external backup drive is " " " 4 TB my book 2 backup" but my images are on an external drive called "4 TB My Book 1" ".

  However, if I move the folders containing images of problem on my desktop (iMAC 27 2015) in Lightroom external editor command change... works very well. The images open with Nik Collection and Photo of affinity and save in Lightroom when save. Everyone knows about this problem? And if you have, is there a resolution?

  Looks like I solved my problem with Lightroom. I disassembled my external backup drive, but upheld the disk external drive containing the photos up and then restarted my mac. After the reboot, I open Lightroom and chose the image on an external drive for mounting in affinity Photo and Collection of Nik. Both image successfully opened in editors. I reassembled the backup drive and rebooted time machine and repeated the same opening picture in external editors. Once again, works great. Have no idea where the original problem. Looks like a bad path was stored in a config somewhere file.

  I try to load the student/teacher edition of lightroom on a mac. I have the redemption code that is entered correctly. The Download_Package is in my file downloads as arvato bertelsmann. When I click on it I get an error message: 'Download_Package' cannot be opened becaue the sponsor's identity cannot be confirmed. I'm stuck. How to load the program.   When I bought my academic edition, there was a yellow card inside the box with instructions to submit the information required to receive the serial number. Basically, you need to submit an academic e-mail address and University photo ID. The link to the place where to submit this information was on the yellow card. After I presented the information the serial number was sent to me in about 5 min.

I presented my academic e-mail address and other info, as requested on this yellow card. Less than 5 min. I received my serial number. Very simple. I had no problem whatsoever.

  There is only one version of the program Lightroom itself. The only difference lies in granting licenses and pricing. If you are eligible for the academic discount, by all means use it. You buy the same Lightroom program that someone else does. It does not expire, there are no missing features, and it can be upgraded when new major versions are available. These updates will cost the same as they cost to anyone else, regardless of how they bought Lightroom.

  You can move confidently until you have received your serial number. The only thing you do differently pays an initial purchase price lower because of your academic status.

  There is only one version of Lightroom. The only difference in the "versions" is licensing. Yes, the teachers ' edition is the full version of Lightroom. The only difference is that it will be included instructions tell you what you must submit to verify that you are eligible for the discount. I think there was maybe 5 minutes between the time wherever I presented information and that I got my serial number.

  I just upgraded to 5.5 of Lightroom and Photoshop CC 2014 today and now in Lightroom when I select a DNG file and click "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014", Photoshop appears but nothing else happens. The file does not open.

  I can copy the DNG file to my desktop and open it with Photoshop directly and that works. In addition, by selecting a PSD file in Lightroom and make the "Edit In" Photoshop work. Only with files DNG is 'Edit In' inoperative.

  It worked before the big update of today.

  Just after I posted my question, I thought to uninstall Photoshop CC 2014 and reinstall it. That fixed it.

  I bought Lightroom 4 update installed, convert my catalog and set the preferences to 'change' in another application to Photoshop Elements 9. It works fine in Lightroom 3, but when I try to send photo Lightroom 4 items aa, nothing happens. No window to select the options, any lau = nch elements. Any ideas on what is the problem? • 3.6 Lightroom will edit not to PS5

  When I try to edit a photo in Lightroom 3.6 CS5, shortcut keys and selection of the menu will not work. There has been no change to this machine, both Lightroom and Photoshop are up-to-date. Even the menu selection to change in CS5 is greyed out and unselectable. The week last it worked very well. What is the cause?

  I do not know if you disable and uninstall to re-run the Setup program, but it can't hurt.

  I just add lines to the regstry to fix mine.
