    Next step after checking that

    1. Insert the card

    2. open the Image Capture (look for it in Spot Light)

    3. in the left lower part of the dialog box is a place to install the default program.

    4. switch to do nothing

  • Can I configure Mac OS Yosemite or Lightroom so when a card is detected Lightroom opens?

In earlier versions of Mac OS, I got hurt to find a way to set up so that when the camera card is detected, Lightroom opens.  So I had to turn on LR and then put the card in the reader.

I have not loaded iPhoto, but when I plug in a card and LR is not lit, Image Capture automatically opens.  I can't find any place for IC preferences that allows me to turn off sound automatically open up when a card is inserted.  When I click on 'Preferences of services/service' in IC, it opens to the Mac, preferences system/keyboard/shortcuts/which shows shortcuts "images".  Deselecting some or all these shortcuts does nothing. And Capture of Image help is almost devoid of content.

In LR CC, I find its place in the preferences to make LR the default application to open when a card is detected.  And "services/services preferences" in LR leads them same shortcuts mentioned above.

    What Miss me?

This time I got lucky on the good discussion of Apple and the answer to:

Disable the Image Capture app | Apple support communities

Apparently, the first time that a new camera or card is inserted, Image Capture opens.  You can then use this obscure way to change Mac OS instructions so that this camera or card, Lightroom will open instead.  I just tried - and it worked.

  • Why my pictures only opens raw? they open automatically in jpeg format

Hi all! new here and I would appreciate any help I can get. It's waaaaaaay all over my head and very frustrating for me. I am new to all this and little overwhelmed with all the info. I've been shooting in raw and use a nikon d40. I just noticed when I go into edit my photos, they are automatically converted to JPEG. I have pse6 as cs5. Acr will open automatically as it should if I shoot in raw said. I also noticed when I drag my photos they change all say .jpg?

Can someone help me with this? I would like to change first of all in the cab. I download about iphoto and they read "nikon raw", however bridge cs5 and pse6 all read .jpg. I'm so confused, thanks for any help

I use a mac. When I download, I'm using a sandisk card reader in iPhoto. In my camera, my read .nef images and iPhoto, they read camera raw. But as soon as I open them in pse6, cs5, or they fill all read .jpg

Exactly how you open them in elements or CS5 or bridge?

Your real problem is that iPhoto matter the original images of the card and stores inside the iPhoto library. You cannot get the iPhoto raw file without actually digging down in the library. If you right-click on the actual iPhoto Library (prolly inside your user/Pictures/iPhoto Library), you can use the command Show Package Contents. Inside, it will be a subfolder named "Originals", which should contain your original raw files.

Unless you really want to continue to use iPhoto for some reason, (she is Manager of fortune ok but if is not really designed for editing), you should try importing the map images in a folder on your hard drive by using a copy of Finder prolly, then navigate to that folder in elements or bridge.

The other thing to consider is research as a replacement for iPhoto to Lightroom.

  • How to stop the "Firefox" account set up the tab opens automatically

My default home page is set to Yahoo, but everytime I open a new tab from the home page, the "Create a Firefox account" tab opens automatically every time. It is annoying because I double tabs I want open and need to keep close account of Firefox page. I don't want an account Firefox then how can I stop this tab always open?
    Thank you.

Yes, this page is to create a Firefox Sync account.

In order to change the URL of the new tab:

    1. Enter Subject: config in the address bar
    2. Accept the warning
    3. Find the line browser.newtab.url
    4. Double-click the value (present value should be https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/40.0.2/firstrun/) and enter another URL or on: newtab
    5. Click OK and close all: config tab

    Note
The pref browser.newtab.url does more than 41 of Firefox.

This is for security reasons: too many modules and malware use this feature to set their own new tab URL.

Then, you can use this add-on: new tab override.
When the add-in is installed, open about: config, find pref [email protected] and change the value to the desired URL.

  • How to stop a download to open automatically

How to stop a downloaded file open automatically, because it is really frustrating when I download music and videos as well as the files play automatically.

It is a question, I intend to answer that I discovered the answer today and could not find it in the community. Apple support also could not solve this problem.

    Answer:

In Safari preferences in the general section, there is a small box at the bottom that is checked by default, clear this check box.

    The box is called:

Open your 'safe' after downloading files

    'reliable' files include movies, photos,

PDF documents and text, sounds and

    Archives
