  It would seem that your serial number should work - but if not, then you must contact Adobe directly on this issue (as we here on these public forums can help with that).

  Is what version of LR?

  And if you get a message, what is it exactly? (try Googling that)

  I have a plan with adobe and download all the updates, but have not updated for a while. right now I use LR5. I tried to upgrade the other day, at LR6 repeatedly, and the download crashed every time. I spent most of yesterday trying to get support from adobe, and even they have not been able to understand or the other. What does not occur if it's my catalog has been updated, but without LR6 I can't access it because the catalog is now too new for the LR version, I have at my disposal. My question is should I update LR 6, because I don't have it, and even if I asked it adobe did not it me my serial number?   You have subscribed to the CC in Lightroom, but you do not use? You always use 5 Lightroom?

  Even though Lightroom upgrades your catalog file to Lightroom 6/Lightroom CC 2015, your Lightroom 5 catalog is unchanged and still usable in Lightroom 5.

  In addition, I think that your post is confusing to me, I don't really know what the problem is or what you're trying to say. The catalog can be upgraded to a Lightroom CC 2015 catalog, if you were not using Lightroom CC 2015. Are you sure you don't have the 5 Lightroom and Lightroom CC 2015 installed?

  Double-check that you have purchased.  It sounds like it could be a 1 year subscription that is not prudent to purchase (because you can get a 1 year subscription to adobe for lr and ps for $120 us.).
