I have Lightroom 5.7, compre una camara Nikon 7200 y al pasar las fotos in NAVE del desktop del computador al Lightroon, me not of that none is can show las imagenes. That I have do? Porque no me works Lightroom con esta nueva camara?

I have Lightroom 5.7 and I bought a new camera Nikon 7200. When you download the photos in format NAVE of my desktop Dell to Lightroom, it is said that the pictures are not visible. What should I do? Why this version of Lightroom does not work with my new camera?

Support for the Nikon D7200 was introduced in LR CC 2015 / LR 6.0.

If it comes to the camera you use options are

a. upgrading to the latest version of LR CC 2015.5.1 / LR 6.5.1

b. use the latest version of Adobe DNG Converter 9.5.1 and convert your NEF files to DNG file format and then use the DNG files in LR 5.7.

  • Curious question about previews of Lightroom and Camera Raw Cache

Posted in the Flickr Lightroom group as well:

I noticed something on the previews of Lightroom (3.6) and cache Camera Raw, intrigued me.

I create a new, empty catalog, and purge the Cache of Camera Raw.

Then I import ONE Nikon (NEF) RAW file with dimensions 2592 x 3872 (10 mega pixels - 10,036,224).

Then I export this NEF file to a TIFF 8-bit file uncompressed. You can expect this file size TIFF about 30 MB (10 megapixels x 3 bytes per RGB value) and in fact the TIFF file is size of 30,135,830 bytes. If you export the TIFF file same ZIP compression to specify the size of the resulting file is 10,834,038 bytes. The compression achieved here is obviously going to be highly specific to the image, but so far no surprises.

When you import I said make 1:1 previews and I spend in the Loupe and see the whole picture in the format 1:1. I also visit the development module and do a lot of manipulation on the image but not cropping.

At the conclusion of all this, I got out of Lightroom and examine file camera Raw Cache as well as previews of Lightroom file size. It would be my expectation that the previews folder should have a complete image rendering and Camera Raw Cache should also have a display form of raw data. What do you expect the size of these respective folders to be?

Indeed - in my tests that the previews folder totals a simple 1 675 264 bytes and Camera Raw Cache that contains an image DAT file cached one is simply 267 374 bytes. This doesn't seem like enough bits to preserve the image rendered, nor there at - it an image is full-size, nestled in the actual catalog - the file is not large enough to hold that. And yet I can use the magnifying glass to the format 1:1 mode and move an image to the image without loading delays (even when you import multiple files).

I wonder if I missed something obvious in my analysis and that, if someone might not care to speculate on what magic Adobe's practice here. Even if grant us them special algorithms to compress their insights that I don't see how they can achieve a compression so much larger than the file ZIP compressed TIFF realizes.

And for those who might think to ask - I have told these experiences with multiple raw images and on MAC or PC platforms.

I look forward to answers or interesting theories or maybe someone could reproduce the results of the experiment and report.

The previews in the preview cache are JPEG files. JPEG compression is much more effective than the lossless zip compression. No magic here.

Mr. Chan is obviously the expert on regards to the Camera Raw Cache.

  • Photoshop or Camera Raw, Lightroom and Photoshop (with Bridge)?

  • Camera Raw 8 the same choice of cultures like in Lightroom and Photoshop?

Seriously, how it would be difficult to give Camera Raw 8 the same crop choice being in Lightroom and Photoshop (for example, Fibonacci, Triangle, diagonal, etc.)? This disparity in the features is inexcusable and embarrassing. Surely, the teams to communicate?

    Curt,

I agree with you, but alas, this is NOT the case!
Select the CROP tool. Click and hold down to activate 'See the overlay.'

In the CROP tool dedicated to the Photoshop application, there are options.

In the dedicated LightRoom crop tool, there are options.

In Camera RAW (of ANY vintage), there is ONLY the rule of thirds (which appears by default when you select Show overlay and not by name or by choice).

  • New to Lightroom and get into trouble importing Pentax PEF/RAW

I started shooting with a Pentax K - X in RAW only (not the RAW + JPEG because I am forcing myself to get comfortable with RAW). Until yesterday, I used only iPhoto in terms of management and storage of files. Sometimes I drag a photo to Lightroom or Photoshop for spot touch-ups, but now I want to start using Lightroom to manage and store all my files so that I can get rid completely of iPhoto.

I turned so RAW or 20 pictures (not of DNG, PEF) but when I put my SDHC card reader in my MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.4 w / 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 w / 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3) card reader have not to be mounted on the desk, and I couldn't find it via the broswer Lightroom or the other. I'm looking for the best way to import and store my RAW files, but I can't even take the first step.

I did a search on the forms for a number of keywords (PEF, Import), but was still confused after everything I read. I tried to do my due diligence please don't blow me if this has been answered before. It is my first month with my camera, my first week with Lightroom and my first day with the Adobe Forums.

Any help is very appreciated! Thank you!!

  • Do you think new MacBook 12 "can use Lightroom and Photoshop cc?

    Hello

Do you think that the new MacBook 12 "can use Lightroom and Photoshop cc? I'm about to see buy this MacBook.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Best regards

    Vivianne

It should work. For a few intensive processor image adjustments, it may trolling, but take a cup of tea and coffee. Ditto on the generation of said images of 1:1 of the big RAW files. But I opened Lr CC right now on a 2009 Core Duo MBP 13 "and it works. Jackpot is important and this will be slower that say a high-end 15 "or iMac, retina, but for what?

And BTW, the screen RESOLUTION is huge.

Consider that a MBP 17 "has a resolution of 1920 x 1200. It is decidedly old school.

12 "has a retina display, at the native resolution of 2304 x 1440 to 226 ppi. This is how many things on the screen. Almost as much as an ordinary 2.5 k iMac. Yes, the pictures would be smaller, but you just get the thing... which is easier because it is smaller. His retina at 15 "of your eyes, which means that it is as close as you can get before you see pixels. Then you'd see a ton in addition to your image at 1:1 without scrolling autour, and yet the menus and icons Lr would be regular size of Mac. They would be the crowd a little more obviously than on a 15 "screen, but you'd still see tons.

And BTW, you can also run a 4 k monitor it.
