LightScribe drive

I've been burning CDs on my drive, and then burn lightscribe labels.  Suddenly today, burner lightscribe program refused to recognize that I have a lightscribe device in my computer.  I can still burn CD, DVD, etc..  How to solve this problem?

Hello

Don't forget to use optical discs Lightscribe.  LS media must be Lightscribe surface face before combustion works.

Because Imgburn recognizes the optical drive lightscribe capable your app burning lightscribe must be reinstalled. Try to reinstall the underlying lightscribe systemfirst, before reinstalling your burning software.  The HP update is here.

The Lightscribe website is no longer active.

Since you have Imgburn installed, you can use it to search an update of the firmware for your optical drive.

After looking in the system recovery, I don't think I'm going to run until my PC has more serious problems than the issue of LightScribe. The recovery process of the system to the factory settings and then reinstall everything new is a bit more than I want to go at this point. Thanks anyway for the help, old_geekster. I'm OK with the mystery of LightScribe remaining unsolved for a little longer. When I get to perform a system recovery, I will update this thread with the results regarding LightScribe.

  • Drive LightScribe electric power plug

I n an HP Pavilion Slimline s5122f. My lightscribe drive has stopped working properly. It is impossible to reach the correct rotation speed. I bought a new lightscribe drive to replace it. However, when I opened the box of the new command, I was surprised that the white cube at the entrance in the supply (next to the Sata connectors) cable was not there.

Does anyone know what I mean? Am I supposed to remove the said my current lightscribe drive and drop it on the new drive?

    Please help, thanks.

I'm sorry feel you the way you do and think that I don't understand. However, I completely understand what you're asking, and that's why I asked for full names of brands and model numbers of readers and close-up photos as well.

    Yet once, referring to the guide of HP 'replacement of a CD or DVD disc' for your specific computer, you will notice that "Step 3"shows a picture of the back of a CD/DVD drive with a description of each connector;

1 - eject or control cable (not available for some readers)
    2 - power cable
    3 - data cable

NOTE: Your car may have three or two cables. Ejection or control cable may not be available if the drive does not require cable.

This image is identical to your original factory drive as shown on the "side-by-side photo Note Although on your photo, two readers of CD/DVD 'SATA Data (S1 - S7)' and connectors "SATA Power (P1 - P15). This is all that is required to use the CD/DVD drive. The semi-cable optionally connector 'Eject or control' is used on some HP Slimline models to eject the drawer and is connected to the "Eject" button that is directly under the CD/DVD drive. While it would be nice to keep this feature, it is not necessary and does not support this option in your case not available as long as the new drive.

To eject the tray CD/DVD without the 'Eject', left click the Windows button "Start ORB" at the bottom left of the screen, left click on 'Computer', the 'DVD - DW drive"do a right click and left click"Eject ".

When I insert the lightscribe cd, I get an error message saying: he can not read the cd (it does not recognize that the cd is a lightscribe cd). I've updated the lightscribe driver, so this isn't the problem.

    What should I do?

and no cd is not face down...

We will discuss this, Ok?  What is the exact model number or the product number for the old WIN XP to the computer.

You can verify that it is really "Lightscribe"?   To verify that the LightScribe disc, download and load 'Burn Image'.  Selest drive Tools tab, then capaabilities.  A look on the right for lightscribe pane. Is he "checked".

Why are you ready do not want to use it, in my humble OPINION.

    (1) intensive process that significantly shorten the life cycle of the laser engraving. (Here, was to replace disc).

    (2) November 26, 2013, LightScribe HP official site has been deleted. This has been replaced with the following message:

"Thank you for your interest in LightScribe disc labeling technology. This site is no longer active. LightScribe disk and software utilities can present themselves on a number of public websites. »

    (3) the surface of a LightScribe disc is coated with a reactive dye that changes color when it absorbs infrared laser light 780 nm. The engraved label will show no visible fading under exposure to lighting inside for at least two years

  • My HP Presario f 700 laptop does not recognize my CD/DVD drive and will not burn or play CDs or DVD movies.

My HP Presario f 700 laptop does not recognize my CD/DVD drive and will not burn or play CDs or DVD movies.

I have a lightscribe, CD/DVD player, and I started having problems about a month ago... I tried to burn a lightsribe CD and my computer told me that I didn't have a CD Lightscribe drive (I!)... then when I just tried to burn the music on the CD, he didn't do it either... Finally a week ago, I tried to play a movie on my laptop, and that does not work either.

When I insert in the film or the cd, the drive lights up and I can hear the work, but it is as if she has no connection with my laptop and my laptop is not picking up the CD/DVD drive try to play a movie or a cd.

A friend suggested that I go to the HP website and am trying to download a driver, but I didn't know what to do once I got to this website, and I don't know if it will work.

If you know how to solve this problem, or if you have had a similar problem with your computer, please help, thank you.

  • Slimline drive replacement DVD s5-1204

I was disappointed to find that the standard DVD player doesn't have Lightscribe support. I saw in the guide of upgrade there are 3 cables to the DVD player. My old Lightscribe drive has only 2 cables (SATA and power). What is the third cable? Can I trade in my old drive without the third connection cable?

HP slimline computers use a special CD/DVD player that has a third cable not found on standard disks. The three cables are power, data and ejection. You may be able to adapt a standard disc in the slot, but he won't go without cable to open/close eject when you press the eject button on the computer.

  • Software to burn Lightscribe labels?

When I bought a HP dvd1040 Lightscribe Drive for my old system, a copy of Nero Essentials has been included. When I upgraded to version 7, I couldn't find an option to create a Lightscribe label.

Software Nero has proved to be difficult to get the installed proeprly and there is no free support. In fact, their support was very good at all. He was on the upgrade and spend more money for bloatware.

Can anyone recommend some software of labelling with features more that basic (for example, was provided with my HP a6700f computer)?

The HP LightScribe Toolbox version is not very complete.

However, I found the full version of LSTB online for only $17 .00US for the downloaded version.  It is intended especially for LightScribe labels and gives a lot of options for graphics.

I highly recommend that and you can find it at www.lightscribetoolbox.com.

  • CD/DVD LightScribe burner

I have a 2B09WM of 2000 HP 15.6 "and a 2000 HP 416DX laptop 15.6 im trying to find out if theres a HP Lightscribe CD/DVD drive that will be adapted to the thesis of laptops models?  If yes that maybe on the drive model number?

Hello chulai6566.  I understand you're wondering if your laptop has a Lightscribe drive option.

I took a shot of the laptop Service and Maintenance Guide , and the optical drive (page 40) section says that there is a DVD-RW/CD-RW Lightscribe drive with a part number 646126-001.

You should be able to order that part through HP parts Surfer.

    Have a great day.
