  2005 old MacBook Pro Active. But the start screen starts shows the colored vertical lines and large white space in the right corner. Malfunction of equipment with LCD?  I tried methods listed on the support page. Problem persists.

  'Impact' point on the lower right part of the screen indicates that the computer was to be abandoned, or that it was something press against the screen, like a finger or something.

  It sounds like accidental damage, not a malfunction of the equipment.

  Firstly, my apologies because of my English skills.

  I recently had a problem in my Macbook Air 13 (2014). I was on the internet with Safari and the left side of the screen started to Flash some lights.   I have a 2008 Macbook Pro which is having some problems, I was able to fix them, but eventually the hard drive failed. I know that because at startup until it would have a white screen Uni (no logo) and you can hear a clicking on in the lower left corner.   Usually start up to a blank screen without the Apple Logo, may report one of the following:

  • Hardware failure
  • Boot drive is not recognized as valid and updated updated
  • OS X essential software is missing, hurt moved or renamed or corrupt
  • A firmware update is necessary

  No matter who, in order to boot from an external drive "bootable", you would normally hold down the Option key until you get a screen that offers a number of devices to try to boot from.

  Alternatively, you can try holding down the C key to try to boot from the external drive.

  If none of these startup options work, then the bootable disc or the USB port on your MacBook Pro can be the question.

  Since you have a Mac pre-2013, if you hold down the D key while booting, the built-in Apple Hardware Test should start up.  This can help to identify hardware problems.

  I own a MacBook Pro of the 2015 at the beginning and I recently discovered a problem with the retina display (so-called "gorilla glass").

  I only have the MacBook since January this year, and I have recently discovered a small hole about 1 pixel wide screen.   I got a brand new iPhone6 (2 days) on the Apple Store. Everything works fine; However, when the battery is dead instead of the low battery message (empty battery with the CAP) popping up on the screen looks distorted with red, black and yellow lines. • Toshiba Satellite U400 - purple lines on screen

  Hi, I had my laptop for about 2 years now, and recently, I noticed that when the screen is dark (as a background or black background dark) purple blurry horizontal lines appear at the top of the screen. Like at the top of 2 millimeters of the screen.

  I also noticed that when I put pressure on the area around the touch pad the screen begins to glitch out and go spastic. Like all the purple lines. Especially around the bar at the bottom of the screen.

  If I set the background to white lines disappear however and the affects to put pressure on the area around the touch pad are much less visible (if at all, I have to test it more)

  Also when I plug in an external monitor (VGA) there is no problem on the external display.

  So my question is, someone knows something similar and also it would be a software or hardware problem? And what do I do now?

  Looks like a hardware problem. If the screen deforms when the base is pressed, then the graphics chip is probably defective. An FSL may quote you a new Mainboard.

  Do you have this problem on an external monitor too or only on the screen internal? Maybe it s not a graphics card problem. Check it!

  If you have the same problem on the external monitor, you must go to an ASP. I think that map graphic or let's say the motherboard needs to be replaced. :(

• Green vertical line on screen - Satellite P30 Pro

  A single thin green vertical line appeared about a sixth of the way across the screen. It works up and down continuously and immediately displays the screen is activated.
