Link Hypertext & Web view

In the new InDesign 5.5, the link Hypertext & Web view only seem to be able to work in the Overlay of the Creator window Preview / Panel.

But when I saw it by Folio Builder and the iPad, both of this interactive overlay does not work.

The rest of the features like Pan, Video etc all works well.

Can someone please?

Thank you!

OK, I was able to recreate the problem with hyperlinks and I went ahead and submitted a bug report to Adobe.  The key question, however, I wasn't able to recreate.  Check a few things and let me know if it fixes the problem.

With your button, make sure that you have "navto://articlename" make sure that the name of the article is the same way, it appears in the Panel (which must match the name of acrobat.com) so not 'articlename_h' or 'articlename_folio' or something like that.  Update section of the folio builder Panel... and preview the FOLIO group level.  If she does not have article you made navto it will not work.

Let me know if it helps

My client publish folio free and retail, and we want to understand how to use the Web Viewer via links (url) or through more traditional campaign vehicles. He wants to send a message to Facebook/Twitter like this:

We have published this publication ipad 'XXXXX '! Please get a glimpse of some article here (link to web viewer).

And then buy it on iTunes Store!

So I have a few questions:

    (1) folio free ipad are visible in the web viewer with no limitation (it's ok).

    (2) free folio - Viewer web only - which never launched an iPad app and use only the web viewer. (it's ok).

In a folio detail (as you describe in #3), users who click or press the link can see all folios free and none of the folios protected (unless they have right). They will be able to view the items counter, but only until they reach the threshold that specifies the editor. After that, the rest of the items are protected by a paywall.

This applies to both built-in web viewers. However, with a web viewer integrated, you can give right to users to connect and consult the content that they have right to.

  • I can create a single web-viewer application?

I have already created an iPad app/newsstand magazine, with a link to web viewer also integrated into our website for iPad no users.

I have now was tasked to create a mini mag interactive with a very fast turnaround - so maybe not possible and spending compliance from Apple within the time limit. Is it possible to create one version of web viewer app initially, without going through the process of Apple. Company-signed is not an option that would require to be hosted on a public Web site.

Everything I've read so far, I don't think that this is possible - but thought I'd put it out there before giving the powers-that-be a definitive 'no' :-)

I have the DPS and Apple developer Enterprise license and Enterprise license too

    Any input welcome

    Thank you very much

Of course, you can do a publication that never launched an iPad app and uses only the web viewer to display the content. Note that web viewer runs only on desktop computers, not on shelves.

I use iWeb to update a Web site and the objects appear in Safari unless you have a hyperlink when they download.  Is it because iWeb can only support a limited number of links, hypertext, or any other reason?

    It has been much discussed.

See my solution in this post:

Re: Re: iWeb Publishing Solution in El Capitan

  • URL of Web viewer links

We have implemented a web viewer integrated by following the instructions on this page:

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/embedded-Web-Viewer.html

Here is a link to the results:

    http://www.forconstructionpros.com/Viewer?WV=s%2FSustainable%2520Construction%2F049ab0e6b2 f34f82813b4b7b3f57067a%2FSust%2520Fall%25202014%2520v29%2FCover.html

There is unexpected behavior when clicking on URL links (try on the second page).

The linked URL opens in the same browser instead of opening a new window.

Because of this, when you click the back button in the browser, it takes back you to the coverage because there is only a single URL for the spectator to all the embedded web.

On the other hand, here's an example of a web viewer embedded.

By clicking on a link on this page, opens a new browser window, so when the viewer closes this window, they can continue to read the magazine where they had left him.

How to change that? Is this something that can be done with the way the integrated web viewer is built?

Is there a workaround in how the URL links have been built in InDesign?

    Please advise,

    Dave

In the hyperlink overlay Panel, be sure to set the link to open it in the browser of the device and not the browser in app, and then update the folio of the DPS dashboard

  • Can web viewer external links open in a new browser window?

We have as a default behavior for all links off the title would open in a new browser window when clicked. Now by clicking on a link reuses the window current and required the user to the publication.

I was hoping that maybe change the value in Folio overlays Hyperlink "Open in Folio ' to 'Open in device browser' would work, but it doesn't seem to change anything on the web viewer.

He will be supported in publication v29 of tomorrow.

  • Web Viewer links

Is it possible to find the web link to your folio without sharing your article?

    It is safe.

    Open this article:

Scroll down to the section of the topic:

"How to manually build a web viewer setting.

While this article describes the recipe of the URL for the web viewer that is integrated, it applies also to the standard web viewer as well. Just adding "http://contentviewer.adobe.com/" before the string starting with "s ////

The instructions to find your account GUID are just a bit low Pluss in the same article.

    I hope this helps.

  • Only the URL of published non-Web Viewer URL of social sharing links

Initially, I created an application multi-folio DPS App Builder (Social sharing enabled according to the instructions), but I forgot to activate the Web Viewer on my account.

This, by the documentation under Enable Web Viewer in this article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS9293e1fb3b977c5c-6c5b4101331de1fd6a-80 00.primeras html, causes all SHARED links to the URL of the Publication. Oops!

I have activated since the Web Viewer, republished my Folio AND generated by my app, and the share button Social in the application displays the URL of Publication and not the Viewer Web URL.

I just need to be patient?  It has been a few hours.

Also: is it possible to get the URL Web Viewer outside the sharing through the app?

  • Why are they the Web viewer and device sign in different boxes?

We create an AEM application that uses right V2. I just noticed that the sign in the dialog box for the Web Viewer looks like this:

    Browser.png

But the sign in for iOS devices dialog box looks like this:

    Device.jpg

Ask yourself why they are different? Differences that matter to us:

    1. the screen of the Tablet says "Username" but Viewer says Web 'Email address' (we prefer email address)

    2. the screen of the Tablet is not a link "create an account", but the Web viewer don't. This is important. We need this.

Is it possible to make these screens match? Why are they different?

    Thank you.

Keith, the 'create an account' link on iOS is in the 'Account' dialog box, under the button "connect". iOS is the only application that has a dialog account, because iOS has a few other configuration options to manage the different store not present scenarios on other platforms. Do you not observe it at this place?

About the chain, the difference is involuntary. User name is the more generic term and one we use throughout all the viewers of the mobile device. We chose the username because some authentication providers do not require an email address, so he labelling 'e-mail address' may be incorrect.

  • navto://relative/parent does not work in the Web Viewer

    Hello

We have recently added in one of our app a menu navigation that points to a different section of a publication. We have also added the option to revert to the parent with the navto://relative/parent link collection.

It works very well on tablets and mobile phones, but it doesn't seem to work in the Web Viewer version.

Here is an example. The navigation menu is in the upper right corner, and the link to exit the publication is called "Quitter" (the last choice in the menu).

    https://app.tcmedianouvelles.ca/webviewer.HTML#project/e33d9e2b-e00b-4c5d-8348-de8a1df3174 9/view/WSY20160611-8dv5gUoLL / has...

Is this a bug or this type of link is not yet supported in the Web Viewer?

    Thank you

The navto://relative/parent format is not supported in web viewer. A tester told me that there is an additional complexity in the determination of the parent in the viewer web because Viewer users don't always access the app of the top-level collection.

  • PDF file generated from Reporting SERVICES hangs when opened in Adobe reader 11 and saved as with "optimized for fast web view."

Large pdf (over 1000 pages) generated files form SSRS crashes when opened in Adobe reader 11 and saved as with "Optimized for fast web view" activated. This saves fine with disabling this option. However, our customers are not ready to accept this solution because they do not want to change any settings. Please suggest if we should create a ticket with microsoft for SSRS allow the generation of pdf quick display of Web pages or is it an option in Adobe to fix this problem without changing the settings.

The SSRS file has Fast Web View: 'No' and that's how Microsoft SSRS generates these files.

Thank you for the complete maxwyss response

As you have indicated, the PDF SSRS seems to have some elements that are quite similar to be supported for fast web view.

We asked customers to disable the fast web view, but the customer is big enough to make a change individually on their machines and so were looking for a solution.

I saw in several forums and a few discussions here as well as disable the fast web view option works for pdf fails.

Which was just wondering if its known that multiple PDFs genarted by third parties may have problems with the optimization, the Save as optimized for fast web view could be disabled by default installation of acrobat reader rather than be enabled by default

    Thanks again for the reply!

  • Articles protected being shared to web viewer

I encountered a problem with the items protected in an internal enterprise V31 being totally shareable with email application (it's the only option of sharing within the app). In the last few items protected were not able to be shared and not able to consider if the target of the navigation in web viewer. Is there something I need to do differently to prevent all items in public like that? Now, the only way I can control what is shared is by creating a unique rendering of the folio web viewer.

DPS does not block an article protected app link sharing. The "block" is when a user receives a protected article sharing link. If the receiving user has no right to view the corresponding article, they will see a paywall - in this case, the mobile app both within the Web Viewer. If the receiving user has the right to view this article by clicking the shared link displays the article.

You mentioned that the protected article was "totally shareable with email" - can provide you more details re: what you see on the part of email? Are images or text being included?

It is also important to note that if the parent folio is 'Free', the items inside will be also treated as such and not considered protected.

  • Site Web Viewer question - buttons within WHO

I have not seen this as a problem "known", but I think it could be a common. Buttons in multi-state objects are not displayed when you use the web viewer. It does not seem there are a lot of States or buttons that trigger the issue.

The question as I was creating a custom menu in a section to browse the pages.

    Steps to reproduce the bug:

    1 create a multi-state 2-State on page 1 of a folio

2 al ' State 1 or 2, create a button 'navto' to the next page of the current article.

3 send page, publish account with 'sharing' is enabled.

    4. notice of publication with web viewer using the latest browsers Chrome and Safari for Mac.

Results: MSO buttons not displayed on the latest browsers Chrome and Safari for Mac.

Expected results: MSO on-screen buttons and function.

    Hello

I am one of the engineers responsible for the Web Viewer. In the last days, we have provided an update to the Web Viewer that should solve the problem you describe.

Could you please you try to display the article once again, see you if the problem has been resolved?

If she was not, could you send the link to the article in a reply or send me a direct message, so we can diagnose what is happening?

    Thank you.
