Link to the main timeline (scene 1)

Well, this seems like it should be very basic, commonly done and simple, but I can't understand it! I have a simple put in place with a layer containing a few images with image tags. Each image tag has a clip. When the first clip from the movie ends, I want the playback head to return to the main timeline and play the next frame marked frame depending on which contains the next clip. Sounds pretty basic, but I'm new to Flash. Here's what I put at the end of the first MC:
gotoAndPlay ("Scene 1", "NomÉtiquette");
What Miss me? Thanks flash gurus.

do not use the information scene in navigation and not use the goto functions. Use the goto methods and labels of image (or numbers):

    Hi Kratistoss,

    Thanks for posting. Here's what you need to do:

    (1) go to your Menu called symbol.

    (2) for any text that you want to have a link with a label on the main stage, add an action click by pressing the brackets to the left of the element.

    (3) this should pull up with a bunch of actions, a dialog box, press the click one.

    (4) in the white space, add the following code: () .getStage () sym.getComposition ("whatever_your_label_name_is") .play;

    (5) repeat for each item you want to link to the main timeline.

    How can I edit a movie Menu template? I use a Motion - celebrations and events - model of menu for Christmas related to 6 scene markers. Five scenes are represented by a thumbnail and name on 1 Menu scenes that appears when the button on the main menu page scene selection is reached. However, the scene 6, which has also a sticker and marker corresponding scene, is on another page (Menu 2 scenes) that does not link to the home page (does not appear in the scene selection Menu that has just 5 thumbnails and an arrow to return to the main Menu). In the area of work under the clip monitor Main Menu 1, Menu 1 and Menu 2 of scene scene appear together and by clicking on the thumbnail in the scene 2 menu the link to the clip 6 works except when Preview Disc is played, in which case the Menu 2 scene disappears. The scene marker is correctly linked, it just does not appear in the menus of the finish. The first five items of the Assembly (related to the scene selection menu) are all the video clips, but the 6th clip is a slide show. I read several threads on menus but found no mention that a slide show scene marker is treated differently by a menu template. Is it? The 5 first clips are all in the format AVI - DV with imported project files previously saved in this format, so that they could be related and engraved on a DVD. The slideshow is imported from PSE14 and 6 attached clips have already been burned successfully on disk (without menu) as a try-out. However, I was not satisfied with the resolution, then saved individually at the only other resolution DVD - SD576. Now I'm stuck at getting this sort menu. I operate 10 WIN. Any help will be accepted with gratitude.

    Hi, thanks for your response. I can rephrase the question very easily: why I've been so stupid? My problem was that I couldn't see a link in the menu between the Menu scenes 2 template and the main Menu. It turns out that the link was there all the time (a sideway arrow just above the main Menu link) but I thought he was part of the link from the main Menu and never clicked on it. When I burned my project to a disc and played on television, the sideway arrow was a different color and, of course, another link... the link I was looking for. Then, my apologies, problem solved, lesson learned - click on everything you see. Thank you. And I was very happy since the upgrade to 14 before except when it makes me feel stupid, which is frequently.

  • Toolbox for CreateJS: how to control the main timeline from outside the canvas.

    Hey everybody,

    I'm currently doing something simple, but my animation film breaks whenever I try to change my code. I created a basic animation in Flash where an object moves from the left side of the canvas, to the right and then loops of the last frame of the first image. Nothing else. The animation is simply placed on the main timeline. I exported the animation with the Toolbox for CreateJS through the extension of the Flash and animation series as it should. I'm trying to start and stop (reboot of the first image) the animation with the mouse on and off mouse events. I want that the events to fire when wriggling over/stop a div outside the animation canvas tag. Is this possible with CreateJS? I'm trying to find a way to control the main timeline without being inside the canvas tag.

    HTML example:

    http://www.thephotoncore.com/testing/example_test.html

    Example Code:

    < id article 'container' = >

    < canvas id = "canvas" width = "550" height = "400" style = "background-color: #cccccc" > < / canvas >

    < section id = "animation_control" >

    < p > hover over to start and stop animation. < /p >

    < / section >

    < / section >

    Thanks again for the help!

    Hi DjPhantasy5,

    All the clips on the scene are children of the scene,

    So now the "mouseover" all clips on the stage could be stopped with stop and on the "mouseout/mouseouthandler()" all the children could be restarted with gotoAndPlay like this:

    function Stop()

    {

    If (stage & stage.children)

    {

    var t = stage.children.length;

    for (i = 0; i< l;="">

    {

    child var = stage.children [i];

    If ('stop' in child)

    Child.Stop ();

    }

    }

    }

    function Restart()

    {

    If (stage & stage.children)

    {

    var t = stage.children.length;

    for (i = 0; i< l;="">

    {

    child var = stage.children [i];

    If ("gotoAndPlay" children)

    child.gotoAndPlay (0);

    }

    }

    }

    See http://www.liauw.nl/forums/adobe/djfantasy5/index.html

    But it is also possible to expose "ball1", for example, by adding it to the document.

    This can be done by adding the code for "ball1" as follows:

    / * js

    document.ball1 = this;

    */

    Then stop the animation would look like:

    function Stop()

    {

    If ('ball1' in the document)

    document.ball1.stop ();

    }

    etc.

    Have fun!

  • Trajectory using 3D - OK to the main timeline broken into symbol

    I spent many hours of frustration trying to figure why this is happening. It is totally broken. I need to use a path using 3d in a symbol. Because of the way in which the project is being implemented (flexible), there are several FLAs that must be converted to symbols.

    So when I convert the FLA that contains a path with 3D, the object moves away from the path in the symbol (the 1st framework remains in place, but everything else is off the beaten), even if it remains correct in the main timeline.

    And once I have start to edit the object in the symbol, the object refers to the way ok, as if it had been a weird display problem, but 3D is all wrong - the vanishing from the object point has changed. The same thing if I create the 3D path using the parameters of the tool "global" or "local".

    What is happening is, of course, the registration point in the symbol, but I was confused by what I saw.

    The reg in the main scenario is at the top left, and he is a symbol. So when executives are pasted into the symbol the reg point moves toward the Center from the position of objects on the stage. So if the scene is 400 x 600, then the reg point moves 200 + and + 300.

    What is happening is that the 3D vanishing point remains numerically identical, so he also moved the reg point. The confusion occurs because objects on the 3D trajectory also move and appear in the wrong place, but the road and the first object remain in the same place. But once any object on the path is published (eg. click an object and it up and down again with an arrow key) they all break the path again. Right now, compared to other objects, but incorrect to the point of leakage.

    If the vanishing point must be reset for the symbol-200 and -300 of its current values. Easy, isn't it?

    Well, no. Because that redefines the vanishing point in the world, and all 3D in the main storyline is the new point of flight, which is different from the scene. And if this symbol is reproduced in the main storyline, the vanishing point will be according to the main scenario and it wll look all wrong again.

    So what you really have to, is to move the point of reg of the symbol to to - 200 and -300. Easy if it is a simple symbol with a couple of short times, but if it is complex, it is not easy.

    You need select several images and drag the end of the selection range to the end of the timeline, and then select all and move + 200 and 300 + to have the reg point at the top left of the area of 'scene '. This can be a real drag when you have a long timeline and you miss a little in the selection range or realize that you have some layers locked, hidden in folders or below the fold.

    WHAT WOULD BE REALLY USEFUL would be to have the ability to simply change the point of a symbol reg digitally. A new extension, perhaps?

  • Targeting the main timeline of in a MC

    Hello all, I have this project that basically works like a slide show. I'm doing things common sense and avoid scenes so I am building each slide as a separate and then mc placing them on the main timeline. What I'm trying to do is get the playhead to move forward on the main timeline to the next image once the mc reached its last picture. I found code that works, but it looks pretty ghetto:

    var _root:MovieClip = MovieClip (root)

    stage.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, Text2);
    function Text2 (myevent:Event): void {}
    _root.gotoAndStop ("slide2");
    }

    I guess I have two questions:

    1. What is the right way to target a frame on the main timeline of in a mc in as3?

    2. the way I do build does make sense, or is there a better solution?

    Thanks for reading!

    This code is an accident waiting to happen.  An ENTER_FRAME event is raised repeatedly, at the rate of the file.  This does not mean that it looks like... such As... When something enters a ' framework' everything you need instead of this code is to put the following line in the last image of the mc...

    MovieClip (root) .gotoAndStop ("slide2");

    Since you asked on 'clean'... children should not talk back to their parents and tell them what to do.  The good news is that they should be independent and care only for doing what they do. It is the parent to keep an eye on the kids if they are so trend.  The only thing they should do is to know when they are made to the world the fact.  This is done by sending an event.

    If what you're doing are implemented the child to dispatch an event to indicate that they are doing what they are doing (in the last image in your case).

    dispatchEvent (new Event ("imDone"));

    and set up a listener for this child object in the parent of the parent timeline to listen to this event...

    childName.addEventListener ("imDone", eventHandler);

    function eventHandler(event:Event):void {}
    gotoAndStop ("slide2");
    }

  • Go to the next section in the main timeline of a class

    I am trying to go to the next section in the main scenario of a class with no luck.

    I have a clip called winner_mc that is created in the document class.

    winner_mc is related to the winning class.

    The winner class creates a clip called nextlevel_mc which is linked to the Nextlevel class.

    Then when I click on the movieclip nextlevel_mc I want to go to the next section on the main timeline.

    I tried this for the Nextlevel class:

    package  {

         import flash.display.MovieClip;
         import flash.events.MouseEvent;

         public class Nextlevel extends MovieClip {

              public function Nextlevel() {
                   this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, goNextLevel);
              }

              public function goNextLevel(e:MouseEvent):void {
                   MovieClip(root).nextFrame(); //also tried parent instead of root
              }
         }

    }

    Can't seem to get this to work. Would be very grateful for help. Thank you.

    apply nextFrame() to this (cast as a movieclip) and see what happens.

  • How to target button in movieclip on the main timeline

    Hello!

    I have a few buttons of submenu in a movieclip in the mainline. My first level of navigation in the main timeline. The submenus are grouped into movieclips on the main timeline. I basically used the same code on the main navigation for the navigation sub except the code for the submenus is located in this movie clip. My instruction trace bed button is clicked (which was a quantum leap for me) but I know that I need some kind of code _parent in there so that he knows to go to the label back on the main timeline. Can anyone help? I feel like I'm so close.

    Also is this a correct way to set-up? I couldn't figure out how do it in an image. Any help would be so appreciated. I didn't know that this basic framework would be so difficult.

    function clickSection(evtObj:MouseEvent){
         //trace shows what's happening... in the output window

    One of the reasons that I never won any price for my vision of the design are because I am often... If it works, use it.  There are many ways to approach a design and yours is very good if you understand.  If she was going to smash something, it would have happened now.  Some people don't go to the extreme of having absolutely no code in a file, some even no content library, he wrote everything in files and class not by necessity, but to simply believe that it is the best way, or a challenge to prove their skills...  They have the it.  He participates a practicality with design that allows to make Judgment calls and if you feel that your approach to design is convenient for what you understand or which meets the needs of the project, then you have the right to follow your own path.

    That said... in the case where a person must inherit from your work somewhere down the road, that's when your approach can be victim of judgment... If someone can not follow, either found it difficult to put all the pieces together, or find them, then you become the contact person for the moans fall that follows.  But you're not likely to have to hear about it.  Yet, one day, if you are in a position where you inherit a person guestroom... and start whining about how they did it, you will come to appreciate the reasons to consider how approach you your designs.

  • referencing the main timeline from a loaded swf file

    I just poked around google as both of these forums, but the only answer I see that was a success, is kglad, and for some reason that its messages are not, I just see ":" and then the guy say thank you! Not uber useful.

    In any case, I'm just trying to understand how to reference an image tag on my main timeline to a swf loaded (through my imageLoader). Does anyone have a link or can tell me what I should look for in? dispatchers of the event?

    to reference the main timeline of the SWF loading from the main timeline of the swf file that is loaded, use:

    MovieClip (this.parent.parent)

  • Is it possible to get a reference to the main timeline in an external class?

    Hello
    After spending over 2 hours on google on how to access the pit of the main timeline an external class
    I have not found any solution.

    Anyone know how to the main script in an external class to access?
    And you can see a movieclip (the name of the instance) of a clip that is drawn on the scene and not
    place dynamically with addChild in an external class?

    I hope to hear from anyone.

    I discovered a solution. Don't know if it's good, but it works for me.

    What you have to do is on your movie fla on any keyframe:
    Hello from the var: YourExternalClass = new YourExternalClass ();
    hello.someFunction (this);

    and in your external class, make a public service:

    public void someFunction (mainTimeLine): void {}
    trace (mainTimeLine);
    mainTimeLine.getChildByName("instancenameofyourmovieclip").alpha =. 5;
    mainTimeLine.getChildByName("instancenameofyourmovieclip").rotation = 30;
    }

    See you soon!

  • stop the main timeline in AS3

    I searched the forum and maybe to find relevant solutions, but I still don't understand. How to make simple "stop()", "play()" and check "currentFrame" on the main timeline of an AS3 class file?

    I have an animation of script for Flash AS2 older I'm conversion in AS3 and also import an AS3 swf into.

    Everything works fine, except that I had to remove the "stop()" on the main timeline (if the animation does not loop) and trying to do it from the main .as file in the document.

    I get an error when you try to access the "currentFrame" of the scene.

    HOW CAN I PUT A 'STOP' ON THE MAIN SCENARIO?

    - - - -

    If the banner is your document class, this means that your main timeline must have only 1 frame (because the banner extends Sprite) and this means that it is foolish to check currentFrame and it has no sense to goto any image.

    do you know what you do picking the Sprite class or do you really want banner to extend the MovieClip class?

  • How to call a function within a movieclip on the main timeline in CC animate canvas?

    Hello world...

    In AS3: Function (fnc name: myFunction) inside a Movieclip (mc1). I'll call you timeline mc1.myFunction ();

    But how to call AnimateCC canvas?

    If you have an instance of MovieClip named "mc" with the following code in to:

    This.Fun = function() {}

    Alert ("Hey!");

    }

    You can call this function (increased to 'this' within the MC) using the oon following the main timeline:

    var root = this;

    this.mc.addEventListener ("click", function() {}

    Console.log (root.mc.fun ());

    });

  • Close button in an interpolation that takes back you to the main timeline

    I have a HTML5 canvas document that has 5 separate click to open the motion tweens.  Within each tween, I have a "close" button that I want to return at the beginning of the main timeline.  Right now he's just at the beginning of the timeline to tween movement in an infinite loop.  How can I get to go back to the main scenario for each of the interpolations of?  (For reference, I am a beginner with Animate and JS code and have not been able to find this answer in my many searches on the web).

    you want that code in the main timeline to lead the scenario primary back to its first image and stop, or you want to code on the timeline of a movieclip lead the main timeline at its first image and stop or something else?

    If you want the code on the timeline of a movieclip to lead the main timeline, use:

    this.parent.gotoAndStop (0);  assuming that the parent of the movieclip is the main timeline.
