Linksys E4200 and connectivity Motorola SBG6580

Here is a picture of my home network. The problem I'm having is, I can't get the WD MyBook Live Duo to be seen on the entire network. If it is connected to the Linksys, all computers connected to the Linksys can see it, but not those related to the Motorola. If I put it on the Motorola, the same thing happens, but in the visa versa. I bought the Motorola for its DOCSIS 3 capabilities, not for the wireless. I prefer to use the Linksys Wireless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Devices must be on the same subnet (e.g. 192.168.1.x) to be able to see each other. You could make the Sb IP 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 for the E4200 and connect a cable from LAN of the SB E4200 (not WAN) port lan port.

  • Linksys E4200 and VoipBuster sip call

    Hello

Just recently bought a router Linksys E4200 and it was rocking so far! I've updated since a WRT320N. However it seems that the call SIP (using my account Voip Buster) no longer works...

I don't seem to be able to register with the Voip service. Port is 5060 standard (if I remember correctly, I'm not at home now) and I've already enabled on the router the special tick for Voip calling ALG. Router is upgraded to the latest firmware and it's the V1 router.

With all the foregoing, I cannot yet connect to VoipBuster using SIP. It worked like a charm with the WRT320N, so it's something with the router.

Can anyone help? Thanks a bunch!

    Try the following steps:

[A] with the help of the Cisco Connect software (if at all, you have installed the router using this software)

1] open the software and go to the option that says "settings of the router.

[2] then click on the option that says 'Advanced settings', which will take you to the router configuration page.

[3] lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) of 1500 to 1400 or less (usually found on the main page / basic configuration of your router)

4] click administration and disable UPnP.

[B] If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can connect to the router's user interface using its default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and enter "admin" as password empty username field. This will take to the web interface of the router and then follow the steps as indicated above to make the changes.

Second, it also depends on the type of VOIP provider, you must open the ports on your router. H.323 uses 1719 and 1720 for signaling, dynamic ports for media. SIP tends to use 5060 for signage, dynamic again for the media.

Follow this link and open the ports on your router to your VOIP: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=17241

  • Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, Acer laptop wireless, Linksys router and connect Lexmark X 9350 wireless network.

I'm tired... I tried everything I can think of, as well as everything I can find online in order to connect my printer Lexmark X 9350 WiFi for my Acer laptop which is connected to my home network wireless via my linksys router. At the same time, the printer has been set up through my existing wireless network and was working properly. (FOR A SINGLE DAY!) Then I got the bright idea to installNorton Anti Virus Security. Since then, my printer stopped working through the wireless network. It works as a stand-alone Copier and fax machine, but nothing of the printer.  I contacted Lexmark via online support, but their suggestions did not work or were so confusing that it would take a computer technology to interpret the instructions to correct the problem. I learned more about the Wi - Fi networks and computer by trial and error, I should be able to re - connect my printer the eyes bandaged.  Help, please... This problem is ongoing for weeks. Thank you so much in advance.

Just a thought, as you say it started with Norton check his firewall exceptions:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

Have a read of the link above re Vista file and printer sharing.

Permissions/Share info is there as well.

If you use Norton, make that file and printer sharing is enabled in THE Firewall (or LAN enabled, depending on how their Exceptions are formulated in their firewall)

    Welcome to the HP community!

I understand that you are having some difficulties to configure your HP Officejet 4620 eAll-in-one printer to print wirelessly with your new Motorola SBG6580 router and your computer Windows 8. I want to help you with this.

You mentioned that your printer is getting an IP address. If the IP address starts with 169.254.X.X then the printer is unable to connect and has assigned this IP address on its own.

The easiest way to configure the printer wireless, is to follow the impulse of software. In this way, the printer is currently Setup on the network using the computer's network settings. Did you install the full software functionality for you printer? If not you can download it here: HP Officejet full feature software and driver.

  • E4200 PC connects to the router and the network home and says its connected to the internet but wont

    Hello

I have an E4200 and upgraded to the Cloud Connect. It was buggy, and so I went down to the firmware before that.  I have all the computers works well in the House except my office.  It connects to the network, he can see the other computers on the network can still do a windows update. But when I go to use google chrome or internet explore it just won't connect to the internet.  Has anyone already experienced this? It does not work either if it's a wired or a wireless connection, it was fine before the upgrade downgrade and following. It is on this desk that I installed and uninstalled cloud connection thew.  I know enough to set up the network, but when it does not work... .so I'm lost for what to do. Help, please!

I did a restore of the system to a point before I upgraded to Cisco Connect Cloud, and that did the trick. Thank you for your willingness to help. All is well now.

  • Linksys E4200 - can update firmware and roll backs damage my router?

    Hello

I had to restore the firmware on my Linksys E4200 (v2) because I had problems after upgrading the firmware. I tried to upgrade again and again met with problems. In short, I improved a few times and restored several times. Currently I'm on the old firmware and I without any problem.

In the old days, it was not wise to update the firmware of some peripheral hardware too often, because some devices has agreed that a limited number of updates to firmware... don't ask me why :-)

Is this also the case with the Linksys E4200 or can I upgrade and roll back as often as the requires, or as often as I want to try to upgrade because of new features...?

    Thank you

    SJW

As long as you do the right steps during the upgrade/downgrade the router (loading the firmware using a wired computer, not to interrupt the upgrade/downgrade process, load the right file, etc.), the unit should be fine.

Set the 5 GHz band on the router to a single, 20 MHz, and channel 36.

Search for again the 5 GHz SSID.

    Hello, Robert

First, you must be sure that your laptop is BT or not. Each notebook with BT has a label of BT on the background site. Check it out at first. Later, we can continue to debate how to connect your mobile phone with Equium A100.

  • Wireless router E4200 and share a printer on the subnet

    Hi all

Now I've been tinkering for 4 days trying to resolve a problem with this, but I couldn't understand it, so I'm hoping to find someone who can help.

My question is sharing a printer on my main network and the wireless,.

    the description of the parameter:

    I have my main network 10.1.1.0/24 (RV082)

I plugged the E4200 router in an IP 10.1.1.82 and the wireless network is 192.168.1.0/24

Set up a printer/scanner with an IP 192.168.1.72 to share on both networks.

Now everyone on the 192.168.1.0 network is able to access and print but none on 10.1.1.0

I put a static route on the RV082 to direct applications of the printer be redirect to 10.1.1.82 but without success.

The E4200 is configured by default out of the box, I had to just put the static IP address, gateway and DNS and, of course, the key to wireless security, nothing else.

the NAT is enabled on the E4200 and RIP is disabled, I tested the connection by disabling NAT and allowing the RIP, during which I was able to connect to the printer, but Internet went down for wireless users all (192.168.1.0 network)

So I need help to solve this problem please.

    1. I would recommend to connect the printer to the main network. He two subnets can access the printer regardless of the configuration on the E4200.

    2. If you want to only an extension of your existing network wireless, I would recommend using the bridge mode on the E4200. In this way, wired and wireless networks are in the same IP subnet and everything is much easier.

    3. with NAT on (default), the LAN is inaccessible from the side WAN. This is why your RV protects your local network from the internet. And that is why the printer is not accessible from the RV subnet unless you configure the port forwarding on the E4200.

    4. it is thus with active NAT, you must send the necessary ports for printing on the E4200 and you must configure computers on 10.1.1.0/24 to use 10.1.1.82 to print the wireless network uses 192.168.1.72.

    4. with disabled NAT, you must configure a static route on the RV to route 192.168.1.0/24 to 10.1.1.82.

    5. with disabled NAT wireless clients have no internet because the RV does not NAT the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet. The RV is that NAT because it is own LAN IP subnet 10.1.1.0/24 but not for 192.168.1.0/24. This means that the RV will forward packets 192.168.1. * unmodified in the internet where they are rejected. You must configure the RV to NAT for example 192.168.1.0/24. You must apply to the Cisco Small Business community, whether or not this is supported on the RV.

So in summary, I recommend to use Bridge on the E4200 mode and function as a single IP subnet. That would solve all your problems.

  • Linksys E4200 - Skype internet killing

    Hello

Recently, I went from a router D-Link GamerLounge for a new Linksys E4200 using the default firmware, upgraded to the latest version.

The router seems to work fine - except when someone uses Skype, and performance of the network decreases drastically. I have tested it with Skype running on a wireless laptop and test my Wired PC network. Here are the results of ping www.google.com with and without Skype:

    Without Skype (wired PC ping):

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 132ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 83ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 183ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 105ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 48ms TTL = 46

With Skype (running on the laptop wireless, PC ping wired):

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 132ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 83ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 183ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 105ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 48ms TTL = 46

I searched a bit on the internet and have not found anyone with a similar problem. Someone at - it suggestions? I guess I could try to upgrade the firmware again or something.

Probably due to the quality of service. You said it was a GamerLounge, which I suppose has automatic QoS for the games.

You can configure QoS on the linksys as well, it's just not the installer for the game by default.

  • Linksys E4200 - range WUSB600N V2 / signal issues

    Router Linksys E4200 dualband and Win7 64 bit Linksys WUSB600N v2.
Both in the same room, the distance is about 10 meters.
I compare the results on 5 GHz btw the stick of Linksys and btw another laptop with Intel Advanced-N 6200 AGN wifi chip.
Running a wifi 5 GHz N on the stick of Linksys, leading to the signal strength low and reduced its speed.
Practically, I can't improve the signal than the Intel + 15 to 20 dB...

    Negligible:

    distance / Intel / Linksys:
    <1 m ="" -26db="">

    5 m /-50 dB /-65dB

While Intel radio affects 300 MB/s, the Linksys is somewhere around 200 MB/s only. in the same room
Anyone else knows a bad signal with the WUSB600N v2, as well? I bought the stick to stream HD media, but with - 65dB is not much of an improvement to what I had on 2. 4 Ghz, 802.11 g (())

Sorry, but how is this releated response must keep the problem I described?
disable the firewall on the router spi?
I checked the possibility of automatic channel selection and channel 20-40 establishments width (automatic channel selection does NOT work correctly from either). I still have the experience that the stick has lower than intel one signal. regardless of the setting of the router firewall

  • E4200 and Wireless N and coexist with Wireless G

Looking for suggestions for wireless G coexist with Wireless N on e4200.

I have a wireless G Router for VERIZON FIOS ActionTec network.  I just added the E4200 router wireless n.  I have the latest firmware, 1.0.03.  Hardware version 1.

We get a few laptops for vacation and would like these to be able to use Wireless-N.  I liked phone/itouch/roku device using the ActionTec router Wireless G/B.  I would keep the router ActionTec Wireless-G/b, so that 2.4 and 5.0 ghz Wireless N only.

I have two routers configured so that ActionTec is primary with DHCP and the e4200 is secondary, the installer mode bridge, with DHCP off and static ip 192.168.1.2.   This used as an indication-> http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/3.0_Networking#12506

I have a SID for the ActionTec Wireless G network and it is set to channel 1

I have a different SID for e4200 N wireless network, even for 2.4 and 5.0 and I left the defaults on the other wireless settings.

Are there any other suggestions for the settings for these routers/networks coexist?

can't test the settings wireless n for another week.  and display the results.

    Update

so for the ActionTec FIOS router main making wireless G and e4200 as secondary in bridge making Wireless N mode seems to work...

so after a few changes that I currently use

-on Actiontec, main router, the value G WIRELESS channel 1 and SID-> g

-on e4200, secondary router, in bridged mode, value 2.4 GHZ WITHOUT WIRELESS N only, and channel 11 and 20 MHZ and SID-> WIRELESSN

-on e4200, secondary router, in bridged mode, value 5 GHz WIRELESS N only and autodetect AND SID-> WIRLESSN5GHZ

If all networks have different SIDS, do not roaming.

-seems new hp windows 7 laptop computers work FINE with 2.4 GHZ Wireless N, variety and very fast, but do not yet work with 5 GHz (bought on Black Friday 2011)

-seens old windows computer hp laptop xp works with 2.5 GHZ Wireless G, but doesn't seem to work properly with either 2.4 GHZ Wireless N or 5 GHZ Wireless-N

-seems new hp windows 7 everything in working GRAND with 2.4 GHZ Wireless N, variety and very fast

-seems to work bridge WES610N with 5 GHZ Wireless-N, even if only 48% signal, my Roku device works fine on the bridge, and connected laptop appears 20 000 low 4000 on FIOS

so I think that the wireless card of the customer in the old hp laptop was screwing the rest of the Wireless N network and not several devices still use 5 GHz.
