Linksys WPC55AG, WPC54GX on wireless LAN, "connected to the AP, but Internet is not found.

Aloha, finally a forum thar actually solves the questions, mahalo.

These two wireless network adapters used to work properly with my DSL modem Westell 7500. Now, not so much.

I can wire Enet cards pcmcia network very well. I see my Brother MFC885CW wireless printer.

I'm on a gateway 9100, Win2k, Service Pack 4 running.

Linksys utilities show that I received, but do not send bits.

ipconfig gives 0.0.0.0 for the IP address auto configuration

I looked at the parameters of the DSL router, I don't see anything strange of course.

I also use wireless MAcBook Pro, airport, very good works. Hmm

Any thoughts?

The WPC54GX allowed ascii/text in box 1 WEP key, the WPC55AG has failed, only hex characters. However, after a search fast on another computer, I found an alpha decoder spell and managed to enter the WEP key in hexadecimal form, which I was able to confirm the MAc RPN calculator. Network cards do not seem to do the conversion correctly. I knew this because of my string of characters in the password.

Also, the dual-band has been assigned, when he did at all, a "unrelational", (best way to put it) the IP address of 169.254.81.145, instead of a 192.168... as I was expecting.

So with a little effort, both network adapters are now connected to the internet, and ipconfig shows well, as valid information.

Some once said that I spoke in hex, there you have it.

Thank you very much, I would say that the problem is solved.

Aloha

  • WRT120N Wireless laptop connected to the router, but does not connect to internet

I have a HughesNet HN9000 modem connected to a Linksys WRT120N router. I have two desktop computers, both running XP Home, connected to the router via ethernet .5e cables and work perfectly. I have a laptop running Vista Home Premium, I am trying to connect to the internet via the internal wireless card. According to me, the laptop connects with the wireless router, as it connects but says 'Local only' - it won't let me access the router IP/control panel. I tried to reset the router / modem as well as the parameters of the laptop, but I keep getting the same question.

If I connect the laptop and the port #3 on the router via a cable .5e I can browse the Internet. But I need to be able to use the laptop throughout the House so electrician is not an option.

Everything looks great.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the realtek drivers (both automatically and with the realtek official .exe file for current drivers).  I tried to assign a static ip address for ipv4 properties, and I tried activation and deactivation of my ethernet controller on my bios, all with no success.

I have ping 127.0.0.1 to see if my material is bad and shut up just fine (0 packets failed).  I tried to move the ethernet cords, and that did not help, then I connect my ps3 through ethernet to ethernet port of the same on my router and my router port-light lights up fine for that (but not with my pc).

I'm really at the end of my rope here.  Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I saw that... but I don't know what I have choice.  This is clearly an ISP issue, and I've exhausted all my options on my end.

I finally managed to pass on to someone, and they send me a new modem/router... naturally it is the one and only free modem I get "for the life of your contract."  But hey, if all goes well, if nothing else, he will have the ability to save and load a configuration file.

    Original title: connection problem

Hello! I recently did a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and I use a wireless USB adapter. Windows says I am connected to the router, but I have no internet access, and I have this yellow on trinagle. Work of all my other Windows 7 PCs, but this one. Could someone help me? Thank you!

    Hello

Welcome to the community forums of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue. I see that you are unable to connect to the wireless network after you perform a new installation.

You can update the driver of windows 7 on the manufacturer's Web site.

    Method 2:

You can remove and re-create the wireless network connection, follow these steps:

    Method 4:

You can temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall on the computer and see if it helps:
    Enable or disable Windows Firewall
NOTE: Turn off Windows Firewall might make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.
You can see the following link to disable the Antivirus installed on your computer software.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

Please follow these recommended steps and post if you still experience the problem. I'd be happy to help you further.

  • Wireless keyboard connection after the update of El Capitan

    Hello

My wireless keyboard freeze constantly or delayed response of the keys after waking from sleep.

I never had this problem before the update. And it happened for a while.

I have tried resetting SMC and have test the AHT but still does not solve the problem.

Users there had the same problem?

    Hi wsthong,

I understand that you have a problem with your keyboard doesn't work does not correctly after an update. Let's see if we can understand what is happening.

The first thing that comes to mind is that it could be interference from other sources that you might not be aware of, things like the microwave ovens and cordless phone. Take a look at the article below for more information on this to see if it solves your problem.

  • Wireless printer connects to the laptop, even though she has worked in the past.

My printer HP Officejet 6700 Premium connects to my laptop HP Pavilion 15, although he has worked in the past. Other computers around the House connect to the printer and print documents without any problems. When I go to print from Microsoft Word, it says my printer as offline.

I tried to remove the printer from my devices and printers list (so that I could try to reconnect the printer), but he is not leaving the list after clicking "remove hardware".

Could someone help me please you troubleshooting? I really need to be able to resume printing my documents for the school.

    Thank you!

    Hi @OfTheFalls

I'd love to help you reconnect your 6700 printer and computer.

I suggest using the HP print and Scan doctor first of all, it can solve many printing and scanning errors, network or USB problems, driver problems and conflicts of port connection. Click here to download and run the print and Scan Doctor >www.hp.com/go/tools

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks ( ), the tool did not find any problem.
  • Win7 64 bit, connects to the router, but no error internet access-"page not found".

Help! Windows 7, XP Home Edition Premium, 64 bit, connects to the router and I can access the network. However, I can't access the internet. PC was working fine until a few days when I was using IE Explorer and I suddenly got the error "page not found". This pc internet connection uses the onboard network controller. I have not installed updates or software recently. My other 2 PC works fine. I tried to use the network troubleshooter and he could not find any problems.

    Hello

    1. Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What antivirus application do you use?

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please go up to step 7 of the Kb to maintain the computer to a normal startup after you fix the problem

    Method 2:

I would suggest trying the following steps and check the status of the question.

    a. open Internet explorer.

    b. click on tools, then on Internet options.

    c. click on the Connections tab.

    d. click on LAN settings.

    e. uncheck the option use a proxy server for your LAN .

    f. save the changes by clicking on apply and ok.

    Method 3:

Configure Internet Explorer to disable simplified HTTP error messages and check the status of the issue.

    a. on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

    b. on the Advanced tab, in the browsing section, disable friendly HTTP error messages display check box and then click OK.

    c. close Internet Explorer.

    d. restart Internet explorer and check the status of the issue.
