List of limited WiFi networks. How to see more (or all)?

Hello

For the first time ask a question here, but I have a little problem that involves the use of my Ipad air and iPhone 5 s.

Around me, I have about 20 wifi routers and several around the House. But I am limited to a handful, and do not have a preference or option to see more ALL.

I can't find an answer to this anywhere.

On my android friends, he sees a long list of possible networks... Anyone got a simple answer to this?

It seems to me, your iPad only choose the best connection around the area, if you change your position you will more or less get routers. If you need to connect to a specific router that is not displayed, try clicking on other and type the name of the router.

Having several names of router on your screen manipulation more difficult, I think that is why iOS devices shown less routers like on a Macbook or iMac or an Android devices.

Just installed Windows 8 on my laptop HP Pavilion dv7 that was under Windows 7. Now, he does not list my home wifi network, and if I try to manually enter it says it's already there. How to recognize my network?

Vinod, I tried all of your advice without success and finally finished by calling the technical support of Microsoft Chat. A very competent technician, Urso U., quickly found the problem. Given that Windows 8 has been to see all my neighbors WiFi networks, he immediately handed to zero on my router settings. Well, it seems Windows 8 dislikes the "extended" mode 802.11 g who was broadcasting my Motorola WiFi Modem cable. By changing this one just setting and uninstalling and reinstalling the WiFi RealTek card in Device Manager (to restore its settings), my laptop now happily running on my home network. • Never connect some WiFi networks...

Sometimes, when you are traveling I'll find myself looking to take advantage of the wifi airport... about 50% of the time my mac connected without problem. The rest of the time he is there right and acts like it is connected but nothing never loads in the browser.  This happens only on wifi networks that require some sort of "disagreement with the terms" screen or a paywall.   If I leave everything and restart then sometimes it fixes, but not always, and it's a terrible solution.

Anyone know why this kind of thing happen?

If you connect OK 50% of the time, then you are doing very well.

AirPort WiFi networks are often overcrowded with too many users trying to use the same network at the same time. In this case, the result is slow... or not... connections. Nature of the beast, I'm afraid.

If you belong to a club of the airline which offers separate private space for its members, the WiFi in these areas almost always works fast and reliable.

One thing that might help a little... is to remove from the list of networks that your MacBook has signed in the past, allowing him to quickly find available networks when you need a connection.

Open System Preferences (gear on the dock icon)

    Open Network

Click Wireless on the left to highlight Panel

Click the Advanced Options button at the bottom right of the window

Here you will see a list of wireless networks that your MacBook is connected to in the past

Click on the name of a network that you no longer need to highlight

Then, click on the - (less) button at the bottom of the list to remove this network

Do the same for all the other networks that you no longer need

Click OK at the bottom right of the window

Click apply in the next window that appears

Close the windows and then restart your MacBook

What is the brand and model of your wireless router that produces your Wi - Fi network?

  • I have a question where I listed two wifi networks. It is not in use and Im trying to find out how to remove parameters from the airport.

I used routers of the airport for a few years now. I upgraded my main router at a Time capsule and my old Airport Extreme and Airport Express works online as sub routers to keep the good signal throughout my home. All work well, but I always have what is the former name of wifi in wifi settings and would like to delete it so that it shows only the new name of the wifi network and the network of comments.

On a Mac that you used to connect wirelessly in the past...

Open System Preferences (gear on the dock icon)

    Open Network

Click WiFi on the left panel to select

Click Advanced in the bottom right of the next window

Here you can see a list of networks that your Mac has signed in the past.

Click on the name of a plu network that you no longer need to highlight

Click on the - (button at the bottom of the list to remove the name less)

Do the same for other networks that you no longer need

    Click OK

Click apply in the next window that appears

Close the windows and restart your Mac.

Then, perform the same steps on all of your other Macs

    Turning off all routers AriPort

    Wait a minute

Turn on the main airport and let it run for a minute

Turn on other airports, one at a time about one minute apart

  • How can I get my wireless printer to my wifi network?

As the HP Installation Wizard does not work with the Mavericks, is there another way to get my printer wireless connected to my wifi network? This printer (HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809) works well with the Mavericks on my old wifi network. But my DSL provider has recently installed a new router, so I have a new wifi network which works fine with everything else.

I was able to get my two Airport Express to join my new network, using Airport utility, but I'm stumped as to how to get my printer to join the new network without the help of the HP installation wizard.

Following the advice of Shlomi, I managed to reset my printer so that it now appears in my list of networks wifi under devices, such as hpsetup. But I got. Any help would be more approeciated.

Bruce777 solved this problem for me, thanks Bruce! My printer now works perfectly on my new wifi network!

Bruce instructions, for anyone else having the same issue:

    -delete all printers already implemented

-Rub old hp software and updated software for the hp 2.8 drivers

-Unplug the usb cable from the printer if you have connected

-restore the network printer hpsetup (hold down the power button / stop and press the button x 2 network and then cancel 3 x, release power button).

-Print the wireless network test report (hold down the button to network and update support 2 x). Check the ssid network name is hsetup

-arrived in sys prefs > network and change the mac to hpsetup wireless network

-go to the sys pref > print scanning

    -Add the HP 8000 printer

-Click the supplies button and options and click on the printer to show Web page

-Click on the Networking tab > wireless in the left pane > start networking wizard and change the network of hpsetup to your network

-finishing (this page may freeze.  Close the browser)

-Return to the sys prefs and change the network wireless to your networt

-go to the printer and print the wireless network test report (updated 2 x key and press the network button).  Make sure that the SSID is your network

-go to system prefs > print scan > select your printer > options & supplies > see the printer Web page > network info (check ssid and compare it to the wireless network test report)

-try to print something on your printer.  It might take a bit of time first impression.

  • How to connect my Time Capsule to a WiFi network?

Happily, I use a Time Capsule for years as a WiFi router connected as a bridge to the router provided by my supplier.

Now, I'm moving to a place where internet is already provided by an access point in my new apartment and included in the monthly cost of the facilities in this village. The access point is hidden behind the ceiling of my apartment and doesn't have any port ethernet except the one used to get the internet. WiFi which will be available for me is configured by an administrator with the name of my apartment.

My internet needs TC that the ethernet source and I wonder what I could do to work around this problem. I don't see any option in the settings of TC to connect to an existing WiFi.

While waiting to move to the new apartment, I did a test by trying to create a scenario similar to the House, for example by using the wifi router of my provider to create a wifi network, then using an extension of WiFi that is connected to A WiFi network and connect my TC via ethernet connected on WiFi extender set up my TC as a bridge and the creation of a WiFi B with my TC that I can use with my devices. It works fine, but I wonder if there is something I'm missing or a better solution or possible issues related to this configuration.

    Tnxs.

My internet needs TC that the ethernet source and I wonder what I could do to work around this problem.

In a Word, nothing. The TC must connect to a network by using a wired Ethernet cable connection. The only exception to this would be a Workbench where you already have a router Apple providing a wireless signal, in which case the TC can connect wireless to "extend" the network.

This is how the TC must be connected to the network of the apartment. If your extension does not work with the network of the apartment, an AirPort Express could be used to 'join' the network wireless of the apartment, and then provide an Ethernet connection to the Treasury Board.

  • Why the Personal Hotspot from my mobile phone appears in my list of list wifi networks if it is disabled on my phone?

Why the Personal Hotspot from my mobile phone appears in my list of list wifi networks if it is disabled on my phone?

On my iMac, there is an icon for a list of available to join Wifi networks.

One of these Wifi networks is my iPhone Personal Hotspot.

However when I look at my setup on my iPhone Personal Hotspot is off.

I tried to join the Hotspot to my iMac and put.

This is part of a feature called Hotspot instantly. It allows you to connect to your personal hotspot without your password or activate the hotspot on your phone. Don't worry, this does not allow other people to access your hotspot, only devices using the same identifier Apple will see your hotspot. This feature is not using any extra battery life when you're not connected to it. You can learn more about instant Hotspot here: OS X Yosemite: connect to the Internet using instant Hotspot

  • Unable to see a wifi network with Atheros 5005 g wireless network card

    Hi, new to this.

I tried Hnatyshyn best part of a month for my Equium M50 PSM59E to see a wifi network that broadcasts on 13(unlucky for some) channel.

I can't screen authetication for network WPA - PSK on the wireless network settings. The wireless network card is the Atheros 5005 G with the latest version of the driver downloaded from Toshiba and KB893357 Knowledge Base.

The network is visible in this computer with a plug in DLink DWLG650 +, how the Atheros to work?

    Hello

are the two of you using Configfree? And the most interesting thing would be: what system are you using?

Otherwise I can give you a link to another thread where you can probably find a few info´s on the configuration of wireless network:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=26088&MessageID=95706𗗚

I suggest all of you to google around a bit. Most of the questions are either here in the forum in the section wireless or on some Internet sites that can be found with the help of google.

  • ATV4 is unable to see WiFi networks

Each time my new ATV4 (TvOS 9.2.1) will lose the WiFi connection. When I try to reconnect it "sees" no WiFi network at all. My other devices (MacMini and several iPhones and iPads, smart TV, etc.) have no trouble finding my WiFi network or those of my neighbours. The ATV4 is almost line-of-sight with and about 3 meters (10 feet) from my router. My other ATV4, which was originally two concrete walls, never loses the WiFi connection.

The new ATV4 always restarting fixes the problem, but it seems that I wouldn't restart the ATV so that he can see the available WiFi networks.

I'd be inclined to try somewhere else to try to determine if the problem is inherent or due to your environment.
