literal error string not ending whenever firefox opens a page.

Every time firefox opens a new page, the error appears. He said: error Javascript at the top of the window for error - and the error is 'incomplete string literal. It is very annoying, some pages have several instances of the error window popping up above the other. I rebooted, no change program. I'm ready to give up and go to the Chrome (which has no error)

This problem may be caused by an extension that is not working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit ' (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit)

  • I reset my homepage to yahoo and now firefox has a pop up that tells me that they are not my home page whenever I open a page

I prefer the yahoo homepage..... so I put my yahoo homepage. now, whenever I open a page, I get a pop up of firefox, telling me that they are not my home page and I need to check the action I want... can we stop this very annoying pop up or do I have to remove firefox itself. ???

What looks like the popup? I think that Yahoo may have a bar in the page content area that encourages to make your Yahoo homepage. However, if it appears outside of the page, and especially if it displays when you visit other sites, it could be caused by an add-on unwanted. Here's an example another user recently published along these lines:

Here's my method of tracking down and cleaning of the bad modules, the air pirates and injectors ad. I know it seems long, but it's not so bad.

    (1) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the undisclosed items bundle smoker who snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Beware of everything that you don't recognize / remember, since malware often uses sounding names important or innocent to discourage you remove. Out as much garbage as possible here.

    (2) open Firefox page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox, and you can learn more about them by checking their reviews on the site of the Add - ons.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    (3) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

  • whenever I open a page, a security box appears telling me the page contains elements safe and secure, that I want to display the non secure items?

original title: problem pop up safety box

A couple of months, my daughter opened a video on utube.  The screen on my laptop turned blue with white writing and the volume went crazy.  Had to hold the close button.  Since then, whenever I open a page, a security box appears telling me the page contains elements safe and secure, that I want to display the non secure items?  I used for the display of this box on occasion, now it is on each page.  I ran windows security and norton scans and both find nothing.  Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem, because it drives me crazy.  Thanks in advance

    Hello Michelle,.

You have a virus, here's what you need to do. Download and install malwarebytes of: http://malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free, be sure to update before running a full scan. If you cannot run the program at all, you will need to download a few programs of this site: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix it, you should get back on track.

Also, you may have a browser redirection problem. Go to your IE tools--> internet options--> Connections tab, then click lan setting and make sure that the only box to checked in it is automatically detect settings.

Let me know if it works,

  • Why Firefox opens another Page on Startup tab whenever I hit the home key (which lead me to my home page under the current tab)?

When I type the original Firefox key brings back me to my home page (AOL), but also opens a new tab in Mozilla Firefox Start Page. I find myself with plenty of unwanted tabs.

    Hello Ismahil.

    Please, check the following:
    Click on Tools > Options.
    Then click on general.
Now, it must be said: http://aol.com/ (or similar), but please check if it has something after that. For example, if there is a | after him, who says FF open 2 pages when you press the home button: AOL and the other page, which in this case is a blank page.

If you see a | in there, go ahead and set or remove, if you wish. If this isn't the case, please post here and let me know!

  • When I click on a link, for example in an email, Firefox opens two pages. A white and the other in the link.

If I click on a link in, for example an email, Firefox opens the linked page and also opens a blank page - usually on the top of the linked page. I close the empty page and things then operate normally until I use a link again.
If I open Firefox since its icon it just opens my home page (subject: Virgin) as usual.

  • 13 new tab Firefox opens the page with the error "page is not valid.

Installed version Firefox 13. New tab button, new tab or Ctrl-T file results in message:

    The address is not valid
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

The Web addresses are usually written as
    Http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you use slashes (i.e. /).

I found a solution that solved my problem. I went in: config, browser.newtab.url and changed the subject: newtab to about: blank. I am very happy that I can add new tabs without error and the white page works for me.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Firefox opens HTM page locally, but not on the internet

    Hello
Firefox is open my HTM homepage (not HTML!) stored on a local server at home when I access from the intranet, but it will not open on the internet (accessible via a ddns server), it just goes to show the HTML code as text rather than the analysis of what the HTML page.
The same page will open on the internet normally with Chrome or IE.
Please suggest how to solve the problem.

I don't want to publish here the address of my web page, but if necessary, I could send it to a secure address, or I can share the code on github.

    Thank you in advance.
    Steve

Thanks for the advice, it was missing some header information, this caused Firefox don't not to analyze the HTML tags.
Curiously, the same page with the same missing header information made correctly (with HTML tags) on a PC at home in the intranet.
Anyway, thanks again for your support.

  • I get random failures to load a page with the XML parsing error: entity not defined using firefox 4

This didn't happen with the version 3 x, nor with the previous v4. Using the arrow to the left and clicking on the previous page request usually works ok. It happens several times a day. Full error is

    XML parsing error: undefined entity
    Location: jar:jar:file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/shirley/Application%20Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/4txi20jj.default/extensions/ [email protected]! /chrome/bandwidthmeter.jar!/content/netError.XHTML

    392, column 33 line number:

    & netOffline.longDesc;

I am also getting this error and have been able to understand that its caused by the Bandwidth_Meter_and_Diagnostics - 1.2.5.xpi. This deactivation seems to have stopped the error, but is a major nuisance.

  • Error: Not enough RAM to open small files

    MacBook5, 2

    Macintosh OSX 10.6.3

    4 GB OF RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce 9400M - 256 Mo

    Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended (11.0.1)

I am TIFF of Maya files which are 11880 x 3400 pixel.  The ranges of between 100-160 MB file size.  Whenever I try to open one of these images in Photoshop, I get this error: "Could not complete the command open because there is not enough RAM."

I just ran Adobe Update and I have all the updates.

I deleted my Photoshop preferences and restarted Photoshop.

I have my drive from Scratch on an internal SSD drive to 30 GB of free space.

I have 3000 MB of RAM to Photoshop.

Despite all this, I always get the error "Could not complete the command open because there is not enough RAM" every time that I try to open the pictures made out of Maya.

The images of Maya are normal TIFF 8-bit with alpha channel, or a channel depth.  I can open them with success in After Effects, but this is useless for me.  I need to edit them individually in Photoshop.

Photoshop error is clearly not due to the size of the file.  I HDR panoramas with superior to 11880 x 3400 dimensions ranging up to 1 GB in size of the file that I can open and work on in Photoshop without any problem.

Why Photoshop doesn't play well with these TIFF images?

I received another complaint about it and looked at a sample file.    Maya apparently written the TIFF file as a large compressed tile (against the suggestions of the TIFF specification.).    If this tile is greater think Photoshop so that he may reasonably, safely allocate a buffer, it will get an out of memory error.

The big problem is: there is no update "reasonable buffer" size for 64-bit.

I am testing a fix for this now.

But there's always bigger that Photoshop can read and Maya tiles needs to fix their code TIFF for use strips or tiles to avoid excessive buffer sizes.

  • Why can I not change opening Web page when starting Firefox with my PC no - adm account.

I created a non - adm account on my Dell PC and installed Mozilla Firefox with my Adm account. In my non - Adm account, I used the Options menu to set my default to open the Web page to a Web page, that I love. However, when I restart Firefox, it comes back to the original default Firefox opening Web page. I don't have this problem with my administrator account.
