Little or no connectivity

I asked this question to the course on the Linksys forums and they told me that they think it's maybe a windows problem and suggested that ask here.

OK so I have a router linksys (befsr41 v3) with the latest firmware (1.05.00) - I have been usuing for at least 7 or 8 years now - at one point I got 3 computers connected and they have all worked fine. Now I have 2 connected on the router - both are xppro machines - the one I am on now works without any problem. However, the other computer has the limited or no connectivity problem.

I used this router for years without any problem, then one day this conflict of intellectual property message started to appear.

I started getting this message from conflict ip on both computers, but only occasionally - it never no problem - if you skipped it - it would simply go away.

Then a computer day #2 has the limited or no connectivity message - I have simple reboot fixed it. This solution worked several times. Computer #1 has never had no problem with the internet connection.

Some time later the limited or no connectivity problem is back and this time this reset does not work - I looked for a solution and decided to try to change the speed of the link to auto sense to 10 MB half duplex - this solves the problem. This solution worked several times.

Some time after the limited or no connectivity reappeared and after some research, I updated the firmware of routers - this solves the problem.

Some time later the limited or no connectivity reappeared and this time I had to actually uninstall the card NETWORK, restart and then let it redetect the NETWORK adapter and then the problem has been resolved. This solution worked several times.

Some time later the limited or no connectivity reappeared and the previous solutions did not work to fix - after searching for a solution, I discovered that I could simply unplug the router and reconnect it the and would solve the problem. This solution worked several times.

Some time later (which brings me to 3 or 4 months ago) the limited or no connectivity reappeared and this time after searching for a solution, I was able to fix by updating the NIC drivers. Problem solved.

This brings us to today - limited connectivity or none has reappeared and none of the previous fixes the problem.

When I initially put it worked immediately out of the box.

DHCP is enabled - everything is set to obtain an ip address automatically.

Initially, the event viewer on the computer #2 reported lease IP address 192.168.1.100 for the network card with network address
0xXXXXXXXX refused by the 192.168.1.1 DHCP server. {The DHCP server
sent a DHCPNACK message.}

Now the same Viewer just tells me that he is using ip address 169.254.xxxxxx

I tried all of the previous fixes without result. I tried to just turn off and turn on any return - I tried to reset both the modem and the router - I tried upgrading the firmware again. I even downloaded LELA and installed on both computers, maybe it would detect and don't solve the problem buy no luck. LELA simply tells me that this #1 computer does not operate normally. On computer #2 when I installed LELA, the first thing that trying to find the router and he tells me that it can't find it.

I tried to uninstall the NETWORK adapter and remove the drivers, restart and then reinstalling the. No luck.

I tried to set a static ip address on the computer #2 with no luck. When I did these two error messages appeared in the event viewer of the computer #1---

The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer (#2), who believes it is the master browser for the domain of transport NetBT_Tcpip_ {0876E9A8-C6E. The master browser stops or an election is forced.

The name "MSHOME: 1 d" could not be registered on the Interface with the IP 192.168.1.100. The machine with the IP 192.168.1.20 did not allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

If I ping the router from computer #2 it returns 100% of loss.

If I ping the NIC it is 0% loss.

I might also add that I can see the two computer #1 and domestic #2 in my network working group on both computers.

I tried ipconfig enough and ipconfig / renew - I tried one after the other and also a reset in between. I tried clicking on repair in the State of LAN - I have tried to reset the ip with the netsh command stack - I even tried different cables and control switching ports on the router.

If there is that about sums it up. Suggestions anyone?

I second assessment of Jack.  I used to have a BEFSR41 router as well and it was almost the exact symptoms I experienced until the router bit the proverbial dust and I bought a new router.  I have not had problems since.

FWIW,

    Hello

The good news is that your network card is recognized.
In my opinion, there are some incorrect settings in the network adapter's TCP/IP protocol.

    You should do this:
Go to connections-> LAN card-> properties
Here you can see the TCP/IP protocol. Go to properties.
In the new window, you will see the settings of IP address, subnet, gateway, the DNS server address, etc, all these parameters must be defined on get automatically.

In addition, you may refresh the IP address, thereby:
Start the console (in run type cmd) and to back new window type the command: ipconfig / renew

    It s worth a try.

    Hello Steve

In my opinion, the laptop is not defective, but you make a mistake.
I put t know how you establish connectivity. Do you use WIFI or Bluetooth? Those are two different things.

If you have the signal on connectivity bit I guess you know what you're doing. I assume that your device has Intel 2200 B/G WLAN card. Sometimes there is interruption of the connection. This problem is known and you should try to install the latest Intel driver for the WLAN card.

    Hello

What do you mean by limited connectivity?
Did you check the system for viruses and worms?
On the other hand, the active virus protection software can make your stream slowly or active. In addition, you check the cable lan for a few bows.

How each of your computers to connect to the router - wired or wireless?  Is the problem only with wireless connections?

Your symptoms indicate that you not properly authenticate you to the wireless router.  Usually, this is because the encryption password has changed or are damaged.  To deal with this (if you know the password), the simplest method is to delete the profile for the wireless network and then re - connect:

Network connections, right click on the wireless adapter icon and choose Properties

Select the wireless networks tab, find the ID of your router in the list of preferred networks and click on delete.

Then view wireless networks and connect

  • Satellite A30 - huge WPA2 connection problems

Hi, I have an old A30. He got XP SP2 on it. I have a Belkin F5D7010uk slot pci wireless card, because I just upgraded my network with WPA2 security. Even if I have the latest drivers for the card and have downloaded and installed the patch windows xp microsoft 893357, the card sees my network, but don't connect properly (says there is little or no connection).

As I said to several men polished of the India by phone, I type the right password, and all firewalls and security are disabled. I can only assume, after working on this all day, it's a matter of toshiba (as it's quite old). Is there a driver to resolve this problem, or another problem?
I downloaded everything from microsoft that I should of.

    Thank you

    Select this option.

    Hi slarn,.

If I understand you correctly, you have exchanged the WLAN card. Right?
Well, sometimes here in the forum I read that other wireless network cards are not compatible. The point is that everything is not compatible with everything.

What you can do is to install the latest drivers and update the firmware on your router. Try the DHCP and static IP addresses.

If that doesn t work, buy a network card wireless to an authorized service provider. These cards are pre-tested

  • Pavilion p7-1222: cannot connect to internet using stock card Broadcom WLAN

I have a p7-1222, which has been recently updated to Win10 64 bit. Since the upgrade, I've known little or no connectivity using 46.0.1 Firefox or Internet Explorer v 11.0.31 so you use ipconfig, I can ping my router and receive a very quick response. I have the Broadcom WLAN stock adapt with an era of 2010 driver who seems to be the current driver when I do an update. Is there a more Win10 driver for this card? Do I need a newer adapter which is compatible with Win10? What can I do to connect to the internet with a certain type of regularity? Thanks for your suggestions!

    Hello:

If your PC has network Broadcom 4313 wireless adapter, I believe that this does not work so well (if at all) with W10.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the W8.1 driver provides an improvement.

This package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers that are required to activate the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter into laptop computers supported running a supported operating system.

If this does not work, the best thing to do would be to get an external usb wireless network card.

I use it on my 3 HP of the PC business office.  Works very well on the W10.

  • Satellite L100 does not connect to with WAP encryption

I just got a new Satellite L100 and I'm trying to connect to my Netgear dg834g router wirelessly. If I disabled security it connects ok, but if I activate WAP message said little or no connectivity. I can connect to the router via a network cable and it's also ok.
    If someone could help?

    Hello

Where have you enabled WPA encryption?
On the WLan router or wireless network card?
If you have enabled encryption on the wireless network card, so you must also configure the WLan router with this encryption.
But if encryption has been configured on the router, so I guess that the wifi card does not support this encryption and you will need to choose another type of encryption as WEP WiFi.

Encryption depends on the specification of the equipment and not over WLan driver.
So if the card doesn t supports WPA is so not much to do.

  • Wireless connection on Qosmio F20: limited or no connectivity

Have problem with the Wi - Fi connection, which States that I have little or no connectivity with my netgear wireless router.
Works very well with the ethernet cable connected but as soon as I disconnect cable, loses internet.
    What I am doing wrong?

I'm sure that you don't do anything wrong. I yesterday preinstalled recovery image on my Qosmio G30. two partitions with WXP and Vista. When I run two operating systems, I got the same message. Attached to the State and the very good Wi - Fi signal but I don't WAN not able to see any page on IE.

After awhile, I was so desperate and just reboot the router and guess after doing this that I was able to use the WLAN in the two operating systems. Try to do the same thing. Maybe the help!

  • Desktop PC cannot connect while laptops successfully connect via a wireless connection on the same home network.

I have a Windows XP desktop PC.  I also have two laptops.  I can connect to the internet via laptops via my wireless router, but I can't connect to internet via desktop even when it is plugged directly into my DSL modem.  I replaced the Ethernet cable, nothing helps.  My status of connection to the Local network on the desktop shows little or no connectivity, but I've done all the troubleshooting procedures, (including / Release ipcong & ipconfig / renew) cause a message saying: unable to contact your DHCP server.  Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

  • Had to go to the WPA to get connection Nook. Now the laptop will not connect.

Newly acquired Nook Color would not recognize connection WEP. So I spent the Bureau for the WPA. Now laptop said little or no connectivity. Can the corners as well and portable live in this environment? If so, how?

It's a good thing.  WEP is near useless for what is security is these days.

Connect to a router, or using ad hoc wireless to share the Internet connection belonging to the office?

Most wireless routers require that all devices use the same encryption level.  Some newer routers can allow a mixture of WPA and WPA2, but as far as I know, none allow the WEP and WPA at the same time.  If you use a wireless adapter in the Office for an ad hoc wireless network, I'm sure that without these adapters allow the WEP and WPA.

Change your laptop in WPA too.

You may need to remove the connection recorded first in order to make this change. Assuming you use Windows to configure the adapter to the laptop wireless (and more far assuming that the laptop is running XP sp2 or greater), the procedure is as follows:

    • Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    • Right click on the wireless adapter icon and select Properties
    • Click the "Wireless Networks" tab
    • Select your network wireless from the list of "Preferred networks", then click on the button Delete
    • OK your way out

Now find your wireless network in the list of available wireless networks, click connection and enter the WPA password when you are prompted.
