• Report Generation Toolkit missing VI

  I just started work on an ongoing project that others have contributed to during some time.  (This is why the project being in older versions of LabVIEW)

  On my PC, apparently miss me VI "Word get ActiveX References.vi"

  I have the version 1.13 of the installed tool, just like all other machines running this code performs.  But my word.llb only contains VI

  I tried to copy just that VI in the .llb the VI is then found by the application.  But is not executable due to this error: this VI is related to a library that does not include the VI. The VI may have been removed from the library. ' Add the VI to the library or select file "unplug library.

  I also tried to replace my C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW all 8.6\vi.lib\addons\_office\ the directory with the files from a PC that worked.  Yet once, I get the same error as above.

  I tried to do a repair on my installation of the box tool.  But as far as I know, it did nothing.

  I also tried just reinstalling the Toolbox.  But since that it has been already installed, it did nothing.  I would hesitate to uninstall and reinstall the Toolbox for fear of breaking all my 8.6 projects, as well as perhaps my 2009 projects.  I don't think that he messes with my 2009 installation.  But I know the order in which things are installed can be critical in the system with several versions.  I don't know if this applies to tool boxes or not.

  This PC also has a LV 2009 SP1 installation, and this version also has the Report Generation Toolkit installed. (even if it is a different revision of the Toolbox as 1.13)

  I know that in the past, several versions of this toolbox were not compatible, which means that a single version of LabVIEW installed might have a job Report Generation Toolkit installed.  But I have been in agreement that it was no longer a problem.  Although it may not be a coincidence that none of the other boxes development runs this code are not installed LV 2009 have.

  Anyone who has encountered a similar problem and found a solution?

  Before that we unified the version numbers of LabVIEW and toolkit (in 2009), there are cases where it has not changed the version number in the registry for one reason or another on a minor update.  So very well may have installed 1.1.4 and it can still say 1.1.3.  However, assuming that 1.1.4 has been installed, I can't imagine any reason why Word get ActiveX References.vi wouldn't be here.  VI lives at vi.lib\addons\_office\word.llb, so after installation from 1.1.4 to your folder of LabVIEW 8.6, check that the VI is actually there.

• How to get data from an Excel file exist using report generation tools

  I try to use the Excel vi get the data of the report generation tool, but I can't understand how to activate a path can be explored in the right type for the VI.  I tried to use the new Report.vi, but this does not work unless you use a template.  It will not open an existing excel file and make an open report to extract data from.

  Essentially, I have a bunch of excel files that have data in them, and I want a VI allows to analyze the data.  I'm going to pull in all the data directly from the excel file so I don't have to reproscess them all in text so I can use the more standard datasheet live but to convert even the excel file programtically in labview I still need to be able to open the excel file and get the data?

  I found my problem.  It turns out that only not to have had a problem with the tool box new report vi.  I had accidentally wired an input control of path of folder instead of an input control of path of file to it.  Changing the file type took care of her and I was able to access excel files, I tried using the new report VI to extract the file, and Excel Get Data to extract the data.

• Save the report that VI of report generation toolkit is broken

  Hi all

  I created a journal vi data, using report generation tools. He works first and then I copied the vi to another folder and tried to run but ended up with a broken vi.  The error occurs in the Save report vi of report generation package.   Please see vi and captures screen attached. I'm sure that if you run the vi, it might work on your machine, but will not work on mine. That's why I find it cable. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before?

  I spoke with an application OR engineer and we have tried to compile mass of Labview on the particular folder containing the VI.

  Tools---> Advanced---> massive compilation.  This corrects the problem.

• Report Generation Toolkit makes Excel Flash annoyingly

  When I use the report generation tool, I have inserted some graphs of my data in the report. If I start with the 'normal' Excel window the user can see each data item such that he is put in Excel. If I start with the window "minimized" Excel then they see the excel application open and reducing to a minimum and then return to the task bar repeatedly.

  Is there a way to generate the report as a whole unless the user to see things being added to the report? I just want what they see the report 'final product '.

• Can I open an existing report using a report generation tool

  Hi all

  Suppose I have create a new excel report today and close the program, tomorrow I open the same program and instead of creating a new excel file, I need to update the test results data in the excel file that was created yesterday, is - it possible.

  I'm confused because there is no option called report open in report generation tool, there just create report option.

  Probably NOT the guy can work on that... Sorry if this is a; existing Eja?

  Is there a method to open an existing report?

  You can use the VI 'New report' with all entry level models as the path to the report on the disk, and then use "Excel Get Data" for a set of data in the report.

• Set the position of the cursor in the text added (to make the part of the text in index) in WORD using Report Generation Toolkit

  I would like to generate a report in WORD using the report generation toolkit.

  Whenever a text is added to the report, the program should put part of the text index. The problem I am facing with is to set the cursor position in the current location of the text.

  I think that's what you wanted (see attachment).

  First, you must set position for each loop, so after adding the table, your cursor index need to increase the number of added characters. That's why I have included the text of the report, Append - to get the position of the cursor at the end.

  Indexing begins with 0, so you need to set the 3 and 7.

• VI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit elements in a TestStand sequence does not work with a LabVIEW 8.5 run-time engine

  I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.1 and TestStand 4.1. I did a sequence TestStand with a VI in this document, which uses items Report Generation Toolkit. On my machine I use LabVIEW and TestStand development system license. On another machine I use TestStand with basic deployment license and I chose the LabVIEW 8.5 run-time engine in the Configuration of the adapter. Everything works well except this VI with elements of Report Generation Toolkit. The error message shows that the VI is not executable. It works well only after I installed with a trial license and selected LabVIEW LabVIEW 8.5 development system in the Configuration of the adapter.

  I found other posts and a document in the knowledge base with a similar problem: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8A0E6274D9BD7B1986256F62006AD402?OpenDocument but I am not no EXE files in my sequence, so I do not know how to fix mine. Someone has an idea?

  
  

• Report Generation Toolkit Table Row height-MS Word

  I have a problem affecting the height of table row in the report generation tool. I can set the width of the thin columns, but line height seems to remain the same, no matter what I put it. I have attached the VI that generates and formats the table and print it's catchy. I've also attached the template file that I use.

  Advice for it to work well? I'm doing the cells exactly the same height as the text inside.

  So I essaye.2 and it did not work.  So I went to Word to change it manually, and it doesn't work anymore.  There is a selection box in word, for the properties of the table, which appears as default value 'at least'.  When I have it changed manually on 'exactly' in word, no problem with le.2 manually in Word.

  I hope that this can be set in the model, for all new tables inserted.  I don't know that the generator report VI sets this property.  Well, that's a start for the question.

  You can go in the table add VI and expose the property.  See photo.   However, you must decide if you want to 'upgrade' this VI to expose this property or make a copy with the exposed property at all times.   I not messed with new reports of class too, so not sure of ins and outs with that.

  I think that's the problem with the line size becomes smaller.

  I'm looking to download the 2010 labview report generation tool. When I proceed to download the Toolkit on the site of the national instrumnets, it says that I need LabVIEW 2011 or later in order to install it.

  Is there a version of this for labview report generation 2010 toollkit and can anyone provide a link maybe?

• Report generation Exe error

  I use LV 8.6.1 with report generation tool 1.13 and I'm having problems to make my exe built to work.  I try to open an excel template and fill it with new data.  I broke the vi downwards to open just excel - open the template and then fill out some data.  But at this point excel opens not at all.  And of course, everything works fine in the development environment.

  I read a few pages of help that says Add LVclass and \vi.lib\utility\NIreport.llb directories in project folder and add them to the always include section of the build.  But no luck so far.

  Aside: the machine I want to use it on a 8.6.1 full which does not have the extra excel functions available my developer.  Is it possible to install the DEV report generation tool in the full version?  Then I wouldn't need to build an exe file.

  UPDATE: I just tried the exe on another computer that has a suite of Developer installed and it worked fine.  So I guess I need to know what I need to add to the building to make it work.

  Microsfoft has improved the ActiveX interface for each version so that the old instance didn't connect.

• Excel graph legend formatting - report generation tool

  Hi all

  I am currently using the Labview 11 report generation tool and do not understand how to change the font for the legend of a chart properties. This is a screenshot of an exit from the attached example.

  Help file for the Font.vi graphic Excel said it should be able to change the caption, but I can't seem to understand how to configure it to do so. If anyone can guide me through the steps or tell me what I'm missing, I would be very happy.

  If I disable the comma localized for this VI, do you think I'll be able to use it as a Subvi without changing the decimal separator of the VI calling parameters?

  My Excel also prefers with a floating point numbers, but I do not understand why numbers lower than that will not be treated as numbers right away?

  Unfortunately the position of the decimal point is global, so call VI is affected, too.

  But there are other possible solutions: you can convert your double array in an array of strings. Conversion functions 'number in string' to disable the explicitly localized comma:

  

  Now, you can add text to your report.

  Your excel seems to interpret "," so that thousands separator and '.' as the decimal separator, so the incorrect number conversion. It seems a little odd since you say he prefers ',' as the decimal separator... There may be something to do with the office report generation tool.

  I suspect that your problem is illegal characters (' / ') in your path, certainly it is the case in your original vi. You need to format your path, something like this (underscore instead of a slash stroke):
