Load cell amplifier signals

Hi all

I am building an app to read a signal in a cell in charge of RS & amplifier using a USB6210 data acquisition card. I ' v tried SE & Diff connections, and I see a change in signal when I apply a load, but it is not quite what I expected (see attached screenshots of MAX).

I am providing an external 5V to the amplifier, so no load can expect approximately 3V from the amp - it works OK. With a load applied, I expected to see a constant voltage drop, however I seem to have become unstable, with decrease in voltage.

No idea why this is happening, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Martin

    Hi Jeremy,.

I'm not too familiar with the ZAGARELLA products but you were seeking to use the modules OR to send commands to the controller or you were looking to them for use as drive for the engine? Whatever it is, these modules will not be able to do it either. A quick search on google shows that the motor controller communicates via serial and or one of the modules that you have listed has a connector series. If you plan put these modules in a cRIO, you could use a NI 987 x to communicate through series.

If you thought using modules OR as a drive for the engine, it is not possible either. You say your Motors require 2. 5, but most NI 9265 will be able to output is 20 m.

In regard to the load cell, it seems you're going to need power external amplifier, which make no incremental signal you're trying to read. 9219 read only of differential signals, then you probably want to consider using a NI 920 x or a 9221. To connect the signal of the amplifier to one of these modules, the signal wire should go to one of the channels I and the Earth to the Terminal COM.

  • How can I convert a 3 mV/V to a load cell signal to something I can read using a field point AIO-600?

I use an external powere supply 12V to supply voltage to the load cell, and I'm reading data using AIO-600. There is a separate module that can do this, but is it possible to do it with the current material?

    Russell,

The lowest input for the AIO-600 range is 0 - 6V.  This means that you will have a resolution of 12 bits (11.3 effective) broadcast more than 6 volts.  I guess that your full scale signal max will be 36mV.  Without amplification, you will not have a very high quality signal.  It would be the best bet to amplify your output signal mV as close to the load as possible cell and then connect this signal amplified to your AIO-600.

  • Configure a load cell connected to multifunction DAQ

I'm trying to connect a LCDH Omega 10 K scale by a module of constraint Dataforth SCM5B38-37 then AI0 gauge on a USB-6251 multifunction data acquisition.

In addition to the load cell, the application will use a pressure sensor with a strain gauge bridge module plugged into AI1 to read the pressure of hydrulic.  The pressure transducer using a measure of the force will be calculated and compared with the reading of load cell.

Currently, the USB-6251 box is configured to read analog voltage on AI0.  The scale is then performed using linear Fit.VI.

Review the example Bridge - entry continues shows some additional controls may increase the accuracy of the reading.

Unfortunately trying to use the DAQ Assistant only added to my confusion of the best practice in the acquisition of a signal from a load cell.

    Hello!

I was looking into your question and found a few links that might help you configure your system. The first is a white paper that discusses some of the basic concepts of the gauges of constraint and their use with LabVIEW, shunt calibration and also covers some of the resistance values you see:

    http://www.NI.com/white-paper/3642/en/

As you can see in this article, we have some specific hardware, built for the kind of measures you take. Because these devices are manufactured specifically for this application, they would provide better and more reliable results. That being said, you can configure your system with your USB-6521, it might not be as accurate as one of these systems. To set up your measurement system, rather than defining the analog input as a measure of deformation, you want to use the voltage custom with the option of excitement. This article treats this yet:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/C66F92BDE229F45A86257B6D004D6033

We get you your data in the form of Volts/Volts (this document addresses more info on bridge probe scaling: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370466W-01/measfunds/bridgescaling/), , but you should make sure you standardize this value to the excitement. Devices such as the NI 9237 provide the voltage and can take this known value in to account within the program, but you may need to do this manually for your application. Here is additional information on the NI 9237 and how it is configured to read information from strain gauge:

Regarding the configuration of unit load and the information, you can try to contact the manufacturer for more information!

    Thank you!

100 kohm resistance; map of shunt R4 (default setting). I chose
"Do not offset null" and "shunt cal.

This is the error I get:

    Someone else has experience
with this error? Do you have any advice on:

    1)
How to 'see' the calculations being

    2)
    What the correct shunt element

does not eliminate the error, I can't find this info).

    3)
What can I do wrong with
my entries to cause this error?

    Hi Claire,

You must physically connect the SC of arm of the bridge terminals (normally R3). The terminal is not provided for the connection of external resistors.

What is the location of item correct shunt for a full-bridge load cell? Change this location does not eliminate the error.

    Hello, YTC,.

The problem is most likely in your external connections of the NI 9237 and the load cell.  As mentioned in NI 9237 Operating Instructions and specifications, page 9, SC + SC - pins must be connected to the terminals of the resistance specified in the .vi of Shunt calibration perform DAQmx (bridge) (in the case of a full bridge, it would be R3).

Let me know if you still have problems with your calibration.

  • load cell

    Hello

I use NI 9219 with model Honeywell scale 11. The problem is that the voltage for 9219 is 2, 7V while the calibrated for the load cell voltage is 5V. When I connect the two device, I always get the release of Labview, but how can I calibrate the sensor?

Load cells operate on a principle of millivolts per Volt.  You should not need to calibrate the load cell just because you use a different voltage.  You just need to use the value of mV/V provided with certificate of calibration of the load cell in the setup of the scale of the load cell chain.

  • With the help of external excitation of load cell 9219

I want to use 9219 to assess the load cells.

Internal excitement for 9219 is not sufficient for my application, this device can be used with an external excitation source?

If Yes is it as simple as cross the bridge of load cell using the external voltage and the output of the bridge on the 9219?

Power max would be approximately 20 mV.

Then the 9237 is probably your best choice. For this voltage, you will need to use an external source.

  • calibration of the load cell

I have a new 5 lb load cell, I want to replace the old one with.  The former load cell had previously been calibrated to the program and was located in the drop down menu, as well as several other cells.  So far all I've done is went to edit items in the menu properties ring and add in the name of load cell - I did in all references to the program.  There are several references to the cell of support throughout the program, but most is a case of event "loadcell scale" that passes across the cell to the variable global-loadcell scale and a cell nationally for initialization.  I have attached a manual for the program I work with (the cell for initialization is not displayed).    I have never calibrated a scale before and do not know the appropriate measures, so any advice will be appreciated.  I have to do something to the MAX?

as a side question what are and when do you use the stringsand values of the nodes property.

Yes, I have installed photoshop Cs6, Dec 2013. With windows 8.0. Later upgraded to windows 8.1 without any problem.

No, no problems with the driver. But photoshop update per week or 10 days ago and noticed that Photoshop used the On board graphics (Intel) drivers and not Nvidia graphics.

At this point, I have disabled the integrated graphics card and set photoshop to use Nvidia graphics.

He collapsed after that Photoshop has started to slow down, then working a few days ago.

I can go back to the old driver. Photoshop has been installed as run as administrator.

After several attempts of loading CS6, I was able to finely disable CS6 on the laptop.

I removed the CS6 and reinstalled, it is now updated... Know the morning if CS6 works with all the problems.

  • Sampling motion controller analog voltage (from a load cell)

    Dear nstroud,

Or the other of these commissions should work for you. You can configure one of the axes for engines step by step closed loop analog feedback and then put in place the other 2 axes as slaves to the first with a debt ratio of 1 to 1. This would cause all 3 of your axes to behave in the exact same way. This transmission is made on the card, and you should not see any negative impact on the axes update rates. The specified sampling rate should not be a problem either. The update of control loop period is definable in the adjustment of the loop tab, and for stepper motor axes, it determines how ofter the step generator is updated. The default for this value is 250 milliseconds. The 7340 user manual also lists the scanning speed of demultiplexer of analog input @ channel 25 microseconds / activated.

So you would be actually sampling and update the engine generator step much faster than 100 Hz with analog feedback on axis controllers.

See this knowledge base for more information about the configuration:

  • Scope of voltage zero

    Hello world

    I'm new to labview.

I use a high precision load cell and signal conditioner that provide precise and exit excitation (10 V)

The problem when I use the DAQ (myDAQ) card to measure the output voltage

The tension reaches zero to time finished as in the picture, but it is very stable to zero (without load)

Also the same problem, I found earlier when measuring a battery of 9V DC

    Any ideas?

I suspect that you have a grounding problem. The signal conditioner is probably connected to the Earth via the USB/RS-232 connection when you have connected. When it is not connected through USB, it can be based.

Try to connect the ALWAYS the MyDAQ connection 24 V DC or taking land on the signal conditioner.

  • Resetting a load with Arduino cell

I use a curcuit to load with an Arduino Mega cell and ordering an operation with LabView.  I would like to create a tear for the load cell button as a scale would have. To do this, I need to read the analogue value and then set this value to a variable, such as 'x', when you press the reset button. X then becomes a constant that the analog signal of the load cell subtracks. I don't know how to define a digital constant using a business controlled by a button structure.   I think I can make it more difficult to do, but I'm stuck and would appreciate an overview.

Try this, I did not code the arduino active so I can't run it.
What he must do, it is the pulse mounted pressure that reset button has the value of the output current to a value of zero.
I just do it quickly so no warranty!
