Local network connection icon disappeared. Is it possible to add back?
Local network connection icon disappeared. Is it possible to add back?
Please use the following tutorial:
The tutorial has 4 methods.
Method is a general method which, unfortunately, rarely works because the box, you need to check is usually grayed out (unclickable).
Two method is only for Vista Ultimate and Enterprise.
Three method applies to all versions of Vista.
Use the Reg file download. It is simple and easy.
* Do
sure that you restart the computer to complete the
procedures.
Four method deals with editing the registry. If you are not comfortable doing this. Please do not. Three method is the best way to go.

Can you tell me why this should be? And I can do to stop what is happening? It is VERY frustrating!

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I downloaded the new Vista service pack 2 and now whenever I try to connect to internet, it won't allow me, and I have to reset my adapter "Local area connection". I also suspect that it might be a registry error, but am not sure.

In addition, I'm not very proficient on the computer, please give as much detail as possible.

Bro, I think I've cracked it. Too, I have the same computer and had the same problem.
Here's what I did:Computer-> gerer manage-> Device Manager-> network-> NVidia-> power management card, then uncheck all the boxes.I think that when the computer went to sleep, he turned off the adapter, and when the computer is awake, the adapter remained sleep... just a hypothesis.Anyway, since I made the change, I had no problem.Good luck!Vking -
Local network connection takes forever to connect at startup
I have a Dell desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. After Installing Roxio Creator, the (Ethernet) Connection of local area now for always takes during the boot process. Before, you will see the audio icon followed by the load of the network icon in the status bar. The network connection took only a second to connect. After Creator 2010 it takes 10-15 seconds, then displays brand of yellow scream, then finally connects to access internet. Just for the record, I'm using Norton Antivirus 2010 and Windows Firewall.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!Tim
Hi Tim,.
It seems its a problem with Roxio, you can try to delete the startup entry and check. If you still have questions, you may have to contact Roxio.

M30: Could not find a Local network connection
Hi all, I really hope that someone can help me!
I had a M30 Windows Home, it comes with a built-in wireless G connection (that's fine). However whenever I try to access my network via an ethernet cable, I can't find my LAN connection under--> network connections Control Panel.
I have installed the last drive for the LAN (lan-sm30-xp - 56068112003.zip) available on the support site.
I'm still not able to detect my NIC or discovered my connection to the local network.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much
GHello
I agree with chance. Try to create a new connection to the local network. In addition, you can also try to run the network troubleshooter utility.

Unknown Local network connection
I have a Windows Server 2008r2, who has trouble downloading Windows updates. As I looked at the IP address configuration I see an unknown connection to the local network with an address 169.254 and also a DHCP address on the connection. I put 2 static address for this card and they work. It is an Exchange Server and the mails are very well, but updates and Internet connections are slow at best. I think that updates may be trying to use this connection to the LAN 9 below.
How can I get rid of the DHCP address on local network 2 and 9 LAN connection?
