Location of music on disc hard extrnal

I bought a disc hard so that I can store music I added to Windows Media Player. Now when I try to charge my MP3 player, or just try to play a song on my WMP, I get an eror message indicating that Windows Media Player cannot find the file. How can I get WMP to find the music file on my hard drive?

  • I have a new laptop and when I transferred my music Itunes can't find it. Is that a large library is more quickly to locate my music than 1 file at a time

I bought a new laptop and transferred my music from my old laptop to my new laptop, and when I downloaded the new version of ITunes, it couldn't locate my music. Is there an easier way to locate my music than 1 file at a time? It is a great library and will take several days to move each file. I have a new Toshiba laptop with windows 10 OS with an I7 CPU 2.60 GHz with 8 GB of RAM

The "missing file" error occurs if the file is no longer where iTunes is expected to find. Causes possible is that you or a third-party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the reader, he feeds has been a change to the drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from waiting for the files in the presentation of pre-iTunes 9 post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice versa, and so looking for a bit in the wrong place.

Select a track with an exclamation point, use Ctrl - I to get the information, and then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Because of a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say no twice!) Look under the Summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks that the file should be. Now look around your hard drive. I hope you can locate the track in question. If a part of your library has just been moved, renamed a folder or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse actions. If the difference between the two railroads is an additional music directory in a path, then it is a problem of layout. I can explain more if this is the case. If everything is where it is supposed to be trying to fix the security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

In some cases, iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info, but this time, click on search and browse the lost track. He peut then offers to try to automatically correct the other broken links. Although he said something like 'use the same location' I think he expects to find the titles in the same layout artist & album that they were before, with a systematic change to the path.

If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it difficult to restore media on the precise way that iTunes is expected. In this case, as long as the missing files somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script for reconnecting to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

If you want me to try to provide specific advice, please post back the following details:

    1. The location of the media file under Edit > Preferences > advanced
    2. The location of a sample of missing follow indicated under Get Info > file > location which begins file://localhost/
    3. The real path to the file which you gave 2 details.

Or you could go back to the old computer and see make a library of portable split, then copy the library into a portable State.

  • Reinstall/locate the music files for the slideshow PSE8

I may have inadvertently deleted the music for slide show files.  I am running windows 7, install the dvd disc to PSE8 and would like to know the correct path of the file where they are located in the installed program file.  If they are not there, can these be copied and located on the installation disc.  I prefer not to do a reinstallation of the program just for them.  Thanks in advance.

If the size of the HARD drive is not supported BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive!

I think you could use a HD up to 120 GB, but I'm not sure of the larger sizes.
You should really examine it until you buy one.

  • removing the disc HARD dv4t-5300

Oops someone showed me where the maintenance manual is on this.  Thank you!

I just bought a laptop HP dv4t-5300 series.  I removed the small bottom plate to find that there are no screws to remove the disk hard so that I can put in my drive SSD OCZ Vector (w00t).  Dv6t-7300 there is two screws and disc hard this spell.

Anyone would be able to seat me with where to find a manual or something on this computer?  Usually youtube or some forum or Internet HP site it would, but I can't find anywhere, anything on this computer again.  Sometimes, you have to remove the keyboard in order to install things but I don't want to start taking everything as part of discover that it's just a hidden screw or something.

    Thank you!

  • Bought the new computer windows 10, itunes has changed location of support for external hard drive. The music does not appear in itunes.

BOUGHT NEW COMPUTER WINDOWS 10, CHANGED ITUNES MEDIA LOCATION FOR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. THE MUSIC DOES NOT APPEAR ON ITUNES.

Changing the iTunes media folder location setting affects only where new additions to your library will be stored.  To use a disk external drive to store your library complete (and assuming that you have access to the original data of the library on an old computer) you must copy the iTunes folder, by default in C:\Users\username\Music, on the external drive - structure library and its records should be like this:

The hold button SHIFT DOWN when you start iTunes and when you see this message:

Click choose a library... then find and select the iTunes Library.itl in iTunes on your external drive folder.

For more information, see user turingtest2 on make a library of portable split.  You must also acquire a 2nd external drive and allows create and maintain a backup your library.

  • Music to another hard drive internal on PC

    Hello

Because of space issues, I need to move my iTunes music to my C drive on my D drive, which is on a drive hard internal different than C on my PC.  It seems that whenever I tried to transfer my music, I don't properly.  Someone would give the correct steps to do this?  I don't want any music on the C drive, and I want to keep iTunes playlists that I have already created.  I have a Windows PC Pro 10.

    Thank you very much.

You just copy the folder iTunes Music (\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music) on the other drive and then iTunes in preferences, under the Advanced tab, change the location of "iTunes location of the press kit" to the new drive and then click OK. IF it works, delete the original file. I left all the other folders/files in the main iTunes folder where it is, just moved the media like that takes all the space.

I did it on my mac to a network volume that it works very well. I guess that the folder structure is the same in win10 as it is on the mac.
