Location of shortcuts scan in Win 7 Pro.
Where are the scan shortcuts stored in Windows 7 Pro that I created in the HP Solutions Center for my OfficeJet 5610 AIO? I would like to recover my support to add to my new installation.
After hours of searching for some references to my scan shortcuts I find an .xml file with all the data of shortcut for my OfficeJet 5610 AIO. The location is: c:\users\don\appdata\local\hp\digital imaging\oj5600.xml (use your username instead of gift).
As far as I'm concerned at this point, case closed.

This problem has been resolved.
Right-click all methods have not access external external hard drives and flash drives.
Sharing, permissions, ownership, administrative changes, all method all failed.
This problem has been resolved by higher HP product support. Other levels of support were not able to diagnose the problem or fix.
The problem has been resolved by:
(1) determine that he was not a NTFS problem
(2) using the msconfig to isolate a single service
When the unique service has been disabled the files on any external drives have been available.
The service of the problem was the HP Client Security.
This HP Client Security in its default value is set to deny access.
Then right-click on the drive and change the permissions, ownership, to administrators, using everyone etc. will fail because they are all trumped by the HP Client Security that is set by default to deny access.
When that client security is changed the drives become available. It is not information about this when using the computer and this can be learned by trial and error.
I hope this helps all those who have z book 17 mobile workstations or HP computers that are equipped with client security.

Is there a program to locate and replace the missing files in Win XP Pro 64 and the dll?
I am running Win XP Pro 64 SP 2, on xfx 680i LT MoBo, Intel Duo Core 3 GHz. My computer is seen adapts to any time and stutters a lot, and sometimes I confuse it so it sits and wonders every day. When I see autorun (Sys Internals) I find several file not found entries. The same thing happens with Malware Bytes and HiJack This. Is there a program that will search for files or corrupt links and repair; missing it works? Thank you all. Merry Christmas.

After the passage of Win 7 Home to Win 7 Pro, I can't have Quickbooks Simple to turn on

Just found the solution by myself. It is perhaps useful to other institutions. I disabled the 'Key Action' Mode in the BIOS "System Configuration" Option Now it's working.

This problem has been resolved.
The book of Z 17 HP installed their software: HP Client Security.
This software prevents the use of external hard drives and flash drives in its default settings.
Each customer is on their own in discoverinv and the resolution of this problem.
There is no warning. He made no information on why a right click on a drive and checking the property do not work.
The way in which this issue has been resolved was by a clean boot process in msconfig.
When miscrosoft services were hidden items that remained were read. Systematically, some were checked and unchecked, and the computer has rebooted to see if the problem was still in existence or if the problem has disappeared.

We were lucky that we checked to see if it was or not HP software at the beginning. This problem was caused by the default client security HP who were to refuse all USB connections.

On the first book of HP Z 17 thin client HP security biometric authertication failed with a black screen. The computer is about 15 days old. All the dirvers for the HP notebook have been uploaded and then the software for biometric devices have been downloaded. HP determined that it was a hardware failure of the biometric device, when drivers and software downloads together has not fixed the problem. This computer had / has the same problem with not allowing communication with any external hard drive or flash drive.
HP did wrong by not providing any information on the inside of this product the HP support assistant.
Here's a consumer might encounter problems:
The HP support assistant on Z book provides updates of drivers for windows, but the support phone number book mobile z is not listed. There is a phone number, but it is a regular support, not z book mobile support or elite support. Mobile Z book users are supposed to call the number fo elite press and the number is for a regular support on the wizard of book z mobile support. Support assistant has cat support method and the HP chat support is not trained to book support z mobile. There is a feature to contact the technical support and the transfer of data to the technician, and again, it goes to regular support who is not trained to support the mobile z book. If you call the phone number provided some of the choices on the automated line includes desktop, laptop and office work. If you choose Notepad you won't get z mobile workstation support. If you choose work center you will get no support of z book mobile workstation. Instead, you must have someone answer and then ask to be redirect to support elite. On the first call, you never know that the support you are looking for is elite support until they give you this information on the next contact.
After many hours spent barely pull on the problems of not being able to view files on an external hard drive or external dirve flash, I was able to change this HP software. It now unfortunately produces a humming noise when parts of it are displayed. This has not yet been set.

The thin client HP security prevents click right change of ownership and prevent changes, right-click in the security, etc.. Change of Director fails also as the client security administrator HP overides too.
So end users must change the HP Thin Client Security so that it does not block access to files on external hard drives or flash drives.

I replaced the HARD drive on my Elitebook2570p for SSD and I need to reinstall Win 7 Pro OEM to enable using my travel sticker located under the battery.
I saw in aid of MS that we should reach to the local HP service center to do this, can cause seller issued series of Win does not allow with MS Genuine audit.
However, the service representative Local HP told me that they cannot ask for Win 7 Installer CD to professional laptops and I must ask HP support directly.
Could someone in HP give me a hint what to do in this case?
If I understand correctly, OEM Win key is locked down for my motherboard, and unless I replace, I can't reinstall and activate the OS without any problem.

Go to Start, run, copy and paste this command, then click OK: services.msc
(Press the Windows key + R if you do not "run" in the start menu)In the list of Services, see Background Intelligent Transfer Service or BITS ?
If it is not listed, please follow these steps if you have a desktop computer. If you have a laptop, go to section 2
Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll
Research should show this file in the following locations:
C:\Windows\System32
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\bitsI hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.
Go to Start, run , and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK
Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
Restart the PC and then copy / paste this command into the field run:
%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.infIf you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the dialog below, replace the path C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
The reason to change the path to the i386 folder is that the files that are there are newer than those on the Windows installation CD.
Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list.
Double click on it and then on the general tab, click the Start button to start the service manually. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.
If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dllReboot again and try once more to start the PIECES. It should work fine now, but in the unlikely case where it fails again, run the following command, and then press ENTER:
Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackupReboot once more and then do the following.

If your Windows product key is not valid, if you don't have a Windows product key, or if you have lost the product key that came with Windows, you will need to buy a new one to activate Windows.

I upgraded my laptop Dell from Vista to Win 7 Home using WUA, and then to Win 7 Pro. The laptop is in the shop, after an automated Win update it would not turn stay in "Repair" mode I took it for repair and the technician asked for the keys of the upgrade. I installed the printer as wireless six months initially. It worked without problem until a few weeks ago the scan function would no longer work. The screen of the printer has an error message which I have omitted to write but as I recall it was a failure of communication and listed the possible reasons [3]. The print function worked fine. Printing and scanning doctor froze after choosing to set the scan function. I uninstalled the existing software to install the full features software, that I downloaded. I was not able to reinstall the software from. I chose the wireless connection and the software crashes when searching for devices, never find any yet the printer is connected to my network. I repeated the process, more than a dozen times and times [2] the facility found the printer but has frozen shortly after that I chose and I continued. I have to finish the program in the Task Manager. I currently installed the device in USB and tried to convert wireless, still frozen. Scan and Disk Doctor does not work because it says I don't have the full software installed.
