  Hey Cisco experts!

  I have a small question, I'm sure you can answer for me. I have installation of the Israeli army for the clients that I questioned how they are physically connected. Connection to the MDF is ok because they use their ports of 10 GB on fiber optics. The question I have is if there are multiple switches in the Israeli army should they be connected to each other using their 10 GB ports from A to B and C and then also to connecting A to C on switch ports? I think it's can cause a loop but wanted expert advice.

  Yes, when you have multiple MDF switches, connect together to provide redundancy of the network.  Of course if you connect to layer-2 switches together, you must run stp or use some other technologies like stack to make it look all MDF has a switch.  There are also VSS for the 6500 that offer the same advantages as the stacking on the 3750 series.  In this way, your don't have to use STP.

  I have a problem with tent to connect to internet. I'm using 7 Ultimate and I continue stuck to "identify the location" when connecting to my wireless router. I have no problem with access to the internet directly when I connect my computer to the server, the router is connected to. It seems that it is a problem of communication between my computer and the router.

  I had internet well this router before but now it seems not work. I tried everything suggested previously, including reinstalling drivers and poking my router using the diag.

  1. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

  2. What antivirus application do you use on the computer?

  If your computer has a wireless network card, Windows will automatically detect the networks wireless in range of your computer. You can see a list of wireless networks that Windows has detected in connect to a network. If Windows doesn't detect a network that you think is in range of your computer, it could be for the following reasons.

  a. your computer's wireless switch is turned off.

  b. your computer is too far from the access point or wireless router.

  c. the access point or wireless router is disabled or is not working properly.

  d. There is interference with other devices.

  e. Windows is not configured to connect to the right type of network.

  f. the router or access point is busy.

  g. the network you're looking for is defined on only broadcasts do not its network name (SSID).

  h. your network administrator is blocking access to certain networks.

  I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

  Have this question about 2748 mode managed connection, I just bought. 2008-05-19

  After the initial 'admin' connection unit by default, the page of ' restore saved Configuration.  I can't go past this page to enter my network settings. Only the button on the screen 'apply' just switch re boots.
  Saw this same question on another Board unanswered, have winXP & 2000 machines will by default 192.168.2.1
  Have other 2724 switches that work very well.

• GNS3 3745 - no switch connectivity

  Hi all

  use GNS3, and than switch 16port module. I created an instance of PC and connection to f/0/0, which is a port of layer 3, I can connect through Layer 3 IPs. Then, I reconfigured and connected to the instance of PC through a layer 2 port f2/0 which is part of the switch 16port module. The 16 ports are by default in the vlan 1. I have assigned an IP address of 10.1.9.1/24 to the VLAN and gave the PC 10.1.9.2/24. I can't ping and I can not even ping 10.1.9.1, VLAN 1 IP. Did I miss something? Thank you.

• Cisco SG 300-20 switch connects to the router

  Hello

  I try to install my new switch Cisco SG300-20 in my local network, but I'm not succeed.

  The SG 300-20 fails to connect to my router.

  When the router is directly connected to the SG 300-20 I fails to obtain the DHCP configuration. Any port I try fails.

  When I add a former switch between the router and the SG 300-20, SG 300 - 20 manages to get the DHCP configuration.

  When I use a static IP on the SG 300-20 and the router is directly connected, it is not an operational bridge in the IPv4 configuration.

  Where I'm looking for a solution?

  The SG 300-20 is maybe defective and I would stay there?

  A few things you can check are:

  See if the system is blinking. If it is the default ip address. If it is solid the IP address has changed due to a static assignment or DHCP.

  If no link light is on or the system flashes, the reason why could not tear out DHCP is due to a shift of port negotiation. Try setting the port on the router or the full 100 MB switch or what ever you like just to see if that helps.

  Make sure that you are also on the latest firmware.

  Try factory default of the switch with the button of reset for 45 seconds.

  Is easy using a switch on the front panel as a source of events. However, I like to use an external switch electrician on my card for the acquisition of data (NI PCI-6229) as the event source in the Structure of the event. Can anyone help?
