Locked administrator

husband accidentally locked me as the administrator of the computer during the passage of the users. How to get restored as the administrator?

Hi, did you mean that your husband has changed your administrator standard account by accident account type?

Connect to your husbands account and follow these steps to get it restored

  1. Open a user account by clicking on the button start , by clicking on the Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety, click on accounts of users and then clicking on manage user accounts. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  2. Tab users, under users for this computer, click the user account name you want to change.

  3. Click to change the type of account, select Administrator and then click OK.

  • Laptop died during the system recovery

During a system recovery, my laptop died. I plugged it all in a row... but when I turned it on a message comes up. "Windows is unable to complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, run the Setup again. "So I clicked 'OK' and it happened on the screen, he's going to when you log out, and then it restarts. After that, the same box back upward. So I shut down my laptop and when I turned it back on, it goes into the newspaper. It shows the Administrator icon and it says "locked administrator" I clicked it and it then says: "your account is disabled. Please consult your system administrator. »

Is there anyway that I can make another recovery system? Help please!

  • Search engines not available, except in mode "Run as Administrator". delete the parent.lock file profiles did not help

After the upgrade to 21 FF, search engines no longer appear in the bar at the top right of the screen, so no searches are possible. I can navigate to my favorites and apparently also to the links contained in the e-mails.

If I right click on the FF icon and choose the "Run as Administrator" option, the search engines are there again. I tried to delete the parent.lock in the profiles folder, that this solution was solved a problem I've had recently with the previous version of FF (not being not able to open FF and getting the error message on another version of it running, which had to be closed in the first place - but there was no other version running.) In this case, too, before I discovered the solution, I could open FF using the option "Run as Administrator"). However deleting the parent.lock file does not resolve this issue.

I would be grateful for your help, especially if a person not very computer like me can understand put in simple terms!

You have the XML files including Google's default search engine in the browser\searchplugins file in the Firefox program folder?

Try to remove the file search.json and a possible search.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder to reset the default search engines.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file

Firefox will rebuild the file search.json from the default search engines in the browser\\searchplugins file in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6835: Capabilities of integrated network disabled by the administrator. All mechanical functions are locked. Help!

I clicked on utilities (from my Macbook) HP botton 'Disable all' for scanner and HP printer. Now, all functions (such as wireless communication) and features (each button on the touch screen of the printer) are locked.

The message appears on the touchscreen specifies "contact the system administrator or the person who set up the printer.

Where can I access the command directory "Administrator"? On my Macbook? Or via HP online account user? Or some kind of password-key - assigned to the Pro OfficeJet 6835 on the printer itself? It's very confusing that nowhere can I find the directory "Administrator" of all of the above.

Without a solution, I've looked everywhere in the HP online support, read JO 6835 Pro manual, as well as follow-up steps for the hard-reset and tried to re - start the pritner with cable router. The printer is still loked up and the wireless icon is grayed out. Then the last attempt is I uninstalled printer HP application of my Macbook and I tried to reinstall the software again, now I got the message "installation failed." At this point, I don't know what to do.

PS I wanted that HP could have designed a botton "reset" on the machine, so to avoid the problems of 'blocking' and make the user experiences more user-friendly.

  • HP officejet pro 6830: locking of the administrator

Computer a major accident.  Now can not set or access all the settings through the printer wireless or the

ALL in one software.  Need factory reset procedures, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi @drmjr,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are currently locked out of your HP Officejet Pro 6830. This occurred when the computer that is running the Windows 7 operating system has crashed.

You should be able to do this by restoring the default network settings in the front panel:

Menu Configuration > Wireless > restore default network settings > Yes

This aid? If this is not the case, continue below:

The lockout is really designed for printers to prevent others to make changes to printer that could affect the behavior of the printer.  For example, to keep the date and time the Fax value see him exactly receive time.

Get the IP address of the printer by pressing the network icon at the top of the screen.

Enter this IP address into the address bar of a web browser on a computer.  Printer status page should load.  If you receive warnings of certificate, choose the option that allows you to continue anyway.

Click settings and then go into settings of the administrator on the left.  Many of the features of the façade are ordered here. Make sure everything is checked except control lock. Once it is defined, click on apply.

Power off the printer for at least 1 minute and power then turn it on again to force the new setting to take effect.

Let me know the results. If this resolves the problem please let others know to mark this message as "accept as Solution".  To simply say thank you, click the "Thumbs up" below!   If you need more assistance let me know and I will gladly do everything I can to help.

  • Win XP computer locks with administrator

    Hi all

I have a bit of a problem, we have a network and AD installed a week, to the end, some people facing a problem is that they are working on something and computer suddenly decides to logg off the coast of the user and lock the computer with the administrator and they're sitting there watching all their all the hardwork go far closing programs and they are unable to do anything.

We have Enterprise edition Macfee which update every night and I planned a full scan of the computer, even after complete scanning macfee is unabel to find viruses do not know what to do

    Help, please

    Hello lahoree.

I would check to see if any logoff script is currently running on Windows XP clients. Then check the event log to see if something is listed there during the time the user is disconnected. You can configure auditing to log out.

However, since you are in a domain environment, it would be better to post in the forum TechNet for ITPRO.

For Windows XP clients, use the link below:

Would you be able to help me more if I had administrative control?  Because the place that did that at my computer only altered my administrative control, if I'm not mistaken it is still mine.

At this point, you should probably take the computer to the one who did what they did and ask them to retrieve the files for you.

I have a feeling that I'm in big trouble sinking. As admin without pass code protection, I accidentally hit the lock button. The operating system is Vista. She had brought it to "geeks" to clean it back to the original, so they must have created the original disc and not given to him. I hope that there is a will.
