Locked Smartphone blackBerry data plan

Hello

I recently received as a gift a blackberry phone that was bought from another country (Vodafone Spain). The phone is not sim locked and my Orange prepay sim worked flawlessly until I activated the data of Blackberry for the pre-payment plan.

The problem is that I paid for the service of bb does not work (edge lowercase + receive not hosting routing tables)-I tried the battery pull, whipe, reinstall the os, etc. and eventually I wrote an e-mail to Vodafone Spain on this issue but have not yet received a response.

After talking to my Orange dealer I was informed that the dealer of Vodafone Spain has remove my blackberry to their service of bb. If they refuse to help is there another solution to this problem, I ran through?

Sorry for my bad engRish.

They must remove the PIN/IMEI of their user database, there is no other solution.

The device thinks it is still in use on the previous user account.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blackberry data plan?

Recently, I asked advice on how to configure mail on my blackberry 8800 in which he suggested I ask my supplier to activate the blackberry data plan (talktalk provider vodafone network) I am gratefull for the quick and helpful response. However, they responded with all the information I need to put in place it's OS 5 or higher. However, it is 4.5.0 (I did an update of the software through my desktop program is aware). Therefore, they say that I need to get the support of blackberry to activate the activation or enterprise data plan. I can't see how to access the blackberry directly for this support all their links are to aid which does not cover my problem or allow me to talk to someone who can help. I really hope that someone can help me, or what I thought, was that a nice smartphone will be rendered useless and not more useful than a nokia £9.99. Eternally hopefull b.Croll

    Hello

The reason why it is so hard to communicate directly with the BlackBerry is because, due to the nature of the support to which contracts everyone is related, such is not allowed. Instead, carriers can increase case through formal until BlackBerry channels if this assistance is necessary, but the end-user cannot bypass and go directly to the BlackBerry (well, not for free). Thus, the one who gave you this advice was wrong...

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through the contract, you signed at the time of purchase. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

It is also perhaps a few good reading here:

But according to your description, I am not sure there is no hope for your old device... research through this portal you will need:

    You will need to

    1. Find all the carriers that support your specific model BB number
    2. Compare levels of OS for your device that they currently support

If a carrier has a package that is OS5, then you can use... but if no carrier has such a package of OS5, then your BB is just too old to be useful in this way. The 8800 is really old (released in 2007), so I have no indication to you as what carriers look at... You probably have to undertake the tedious process of watching all them to see which support it, as appropriate.

If you do not find a bundle of BONES of a carrier that will work according to the instructions you have been given (OS5), then we can provide you with instructions to install it to your BB.

However, keep in mind also that, even if you do not find a such operating system, if your specific carrier does not natively support your specific model BB number, then you will have still some significant challenges before you. Carriers networks provide the registry entries (HRT) and service book needed for the BBs to allow them to operate on their network. But, as a general rule, the rack system made for the specific model number BBs that their system is supported... other model numbers must perform a difficult process to extract, a different BB, the elements needed to work on that carrier network. A significant challenge to overcome, without any guarantee of success.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry data plan

Why cant Blackberry devices to access internet without a data Plan?

This is because your BlackBerry works differently from all other smartphones.  When access you the data of another brand of smartphone, the data moves from the server to your phone.  When access you the data on your BlackBerry, it moves from the server asked RIM servers, where it is compressed to save on data consumption, then he is pulled out of your phone (it's more complicated than that, but I it simplifies).
For your phone understand how to manage this data traffic, she has downloaded for service books.  In order to access these service books, you need a specific data plan called BIS or BlackBerry Internet Service.  Without BIS, your phone does not know how to properly manage this data transfer.

Now, as JSanders said, you can always access the internet without BIS but with limitations.  If you want a full internet experience on your BlackBerry, get your provider BIS.

(JSanders is actually much better informed on this issue and can probably fill in the gaps I left).

    I hope that helps you.

  • No Smartphones blackBerry data plan?

Well, I'm sure it is much... But my friend gave me his old blackberry curve 8330. But my mother won't let me transfer because she said, that Verizon makes me have a data package. Is it possible that I have no folder? I don't care if I'm not going to internet(:.??)

    Thank you

On Verizon, there is no way. Insert a data plan on your account without you knowing if it detects a BlackBerry on the network.

    And it detects.

Really all people I know have given blackberry plan, but I think nobody needs internet access to synchronize the device with the pc with a data cable.

If you need anything just display it.

  • BlackBerry data plan

    Hello

I have the blackberry curve 3g with a data of Etisalat Egypt plan. I noticed that in addition to paying for the service, they take sometimes more money and tell me that I have used third-party applications that considered mobile internet. I did not understand. My question is: what includes exactly the BB service and what will make me pay more for more money? And how do I know that this application will need to more data? Please be patient and explain in details to make me understand.

    Hello afshahda,

There are in fact two ways, the Blackberry can connect to the internet!

First, the path 'main' during the APN (access point) blackberry.net (called BIS or BES)... This is usually the standard way on all Blackberry!

The second way is the local provider for example WAP apn. Etilsat Wap APN...

This wap connection is taken for example media streaming (youtube...), or some applications... BUT Smart apps normally includes a configuration screen where you can define your type of connection between wifi, tcpip, wap or bis/bes...

And so the costs and data included in your dataplan depends on the local supplier... For example in Austria, they have had the same problem because they:

    Unlimited transfer on BIS/BES
And 50 MB for apn WAP

If the same problem exists as u mentioned...

Therefore, since half a year you have wap 1 GB included and unlimited BIS/BES...

A means of control is the sign of berry in the right corner near the coast 3 G... Is - this here device shoul be connected via BIS... Is it only 3G, it might be connected over the WAP apn...

Alternatively check your TCP/IP on your Blackberry settings in the advanced settings... And don't forget to set the APN "blackberry.net" for (no pw, no user)...

Third solution, ask your supplier the amount of traffic you have BIS AFN and how much WAP, so you can save money

    Hope this helps,

    Jul

  • Restoration of Smartphones blackBerry data saved on a new device

I broke my Blackberry Pearl and can not find a way to put the data from the old device to my new.  The Office has a way to switch devices, but it requires the old card sim who was crushed by my car.  Nobody knows how to help me?

Too bad.  I thought about it.  I just had to wait until the new PIN code.  Then I went to the restaurant and he did everything perfectly... not having less is not my browser work.  Other that that, it did what I wanted.

    Thank you.

  • Access Wifi to Smartphones blackBerry data roaming off

I know that this issue has been mocked around, but it is has not discussed this very specific question:

    Data services 'ON '.

    When roaming "OFF".

    Mobile network active (on)

    WiFi, the value preferred, connected

With the setting above, the 'data' such as email work WiFi if I'm outside of my coverage area (ie. roaming)?

I know that if data is set to off, the Wifi does not work, but if it is set on "ON" and when roaming is 'OFF', which also will prevent Wifi work?  In other words, is the when 'OFF' roaming applies only to data mobile network (eg. 3G) or does it affect the wifi?  Intuitively, off is off, but then I did not write this code... and I'm not going overseas to test, my daughter will be going and she won't be able to solve this.  Thank you.

    vuldub wrote:

Sigh.   I can't make you understand this.  I don't see why this topic has not been treated properly.

    I understand perfectly.

With OFF roaming data services, not get you data, whether it's the WiFi, mobile network, etc.

    Period. Not a guess.

Thus, in these circumstances, it will get not given by hitting a WiFi hotspot - it's why I was 'attempt' to help you with a configuration of alternative work for his trip. But you seem less concerned in this topic to make another point, you are determined to do.

    In any case, understood.

  • Locked Smartphones blackBerry phone, cannot get contacts... Help!

Hello world. I have a problem. went to verizon and they couldn't help me. My phone got wet (in the Pocket all raining) kept phone turn off after 3 seconds. When the phone is finally back, the ball should scroll to the top and bottom but would do nothing when you press down.

I have a password on my phone so I hit the Enter key instead of use the ball. BUT... when I went to enter my password I discovered than the Q, P and DEL keys did not work. strange. These are the two keys to outer edge of each side of the phone.

my password has in it, and now I can not unlock my phone. I have my whole life here: (here is another problem. I won't have access to the computer where my contacts are guaranteed for 3 months I'm working away.

Is there anyway to transfer contacts to a new computer? can I bypass the keyboard on the device by plugging it into my laptop (pc) and then unlock it this way?

Verizon sent me a new camera, but I really need my contacts on this phone. Help, please

If I could get the key to work, I would be all set. The tech at verizon button is popped and tried using a thumbtack, but it did not work. Can blackberry remotely delete an existing password? I know that sounds stupid, but I'm desperate.

    Thank you

    Not stupid.

You can't break or bypass the password. You set here for a reason and that BB works as it should to be sure.

On your laptop, load Desktop Manager version 4.6 without the media manager

    Download Desktop Manager here:
    https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

Make a backup of your device. It will ask for the IPL in DM, and you can enter on the laptop there. Full backup.

THEN, when you get the new device, use Switch Device Wizard DM to transfer everything on the new BB... yet once you enter the PW of the former.

If you synchronize with Outlook, do also, as a precaution, the old appliance.

Good luck. You should be fine this way.

  • Locked Smartphones blackBerry encryption

I try to install the BlackBerry Protect, however need to disable the encryption, but it's blocked.
I read that report to the BIS / BES.
My carrier (Claro-Brazil), allows to have BIS and BES, I remember the company enable or not, but I can't remember where. Can someone help me? I need to disable this BES or disable encryption.

    GtOkAi wrote:

Any... I just use my 3g, I need make this statement nevertheless?

    Hi GtOkAi

If it's a device and you cannot disable encryption, you can try these steps, it will delete any previous policy on this device.

But you did not answer if you're on BES or BIS / BlackBerry Internet Services on your account. You can perform these steps if you're on BES.

  • Locked Smartphone blackBerry screen appears

    Hey all

I just got my Curve 9300. This device has an OS that is new to me, I used to have a Pearl a year ago. I set up my personal information to display on the lock screen so that if ever I lose my phone, someone who is finding it can contact me. However, when I lock the screen, it fades down / stops and when I press any button, I get a message saying "the keyboard is locked. Press the 'secret '... ». If I can't unlock it, the screen turns off / fades down once again. So basically, I never get to see the lock screen message that I put in place, it is always hidden. I didn't have this problem with my old bead. Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    See you soon...

Hi and welcome to the forums!

When I lock my screen immediately, it becomes black. If I press a key it the message says 'Screen locked press power button to unlock.'

When I lock my camera which is password protected my owner information is displayed. I'm on device OS v5.0 that I don't remember the owner info never display on a screen lock.

    Thank you

  • Phone to change smartphones, blackBerry & data carrier?

I bought a 10 months of AT & T curve.     Since then, I have swithced my phones from Verizon and have more no service to AT & T.    I want to spend my curve to Verizon, but they say I can't this is not compatible with the system.   It's true, there is no way to pass?     Thank you very much, I appreciate your comments.     Doug

Different carriers use different technologies CDMA, SMC, etc.

I would Google each carrier or talk with a representative for more details.

If you need more help please ask. If this isn't the case, please solve this thread by using the options on the yellow star of congratulations.

  • BlackBerry smartphones does pine bb without data plan? No polls bbm, just the msg of the real axis

I heard that pine bb uses the server of berry to send msg's is faster and more secure. but I had also heard that u don't need to have a data plan, u could still send/recieve pin msg but I tried turned off my data services, but it did not work. so I was just wondering how actually the PIN works.

I know that bbm does not work via wifi, u gotta hv data plan.

and if pin msg need data plan work, then what's the point of hving bbm? It just doesn't do the same thing?

    Thank you very much!!!

PIN to pin is on wheels network, so you need a blackberry data plan more coverage network
