Logon profile

I am trying to download to Quicken online backup and cannot.  The error message contains this info: your connection profile must support access to the registry.  Please run the Setup program by using the run as Administrator option.

It's on my personal computer at home.  Help!

    According to the description, you get the error message when you try to download Quicken online backup.

    1. using an administrator account or a guest account?
    2. did you of recent changes to the computer?

    I you suggest to download the file to a different location in Windows and then try to install the program by using run as administrator.

    Method 1:

    1. download the installation file.

    2. when the download file - security warning window opens, run or save the file,

    3. click Save and download the OnlineBackup.exe file on your desktop.

    4 right-click OnlineBackup.exe on your desktop, and then select run as administrator.

    Method 2:

    If you receive the message doesn't support Quicken not run as administrator when you try to open Quicken, close Quicken, then:

    1 right-click the Quicken icon and choose Properties.
    2. on the Compatibility tab, click on change settings for all users.
    3 clear each check box, and then click OK twice to close the windows.
    4. double-click on the icon of Quicken to install Quicken.

  • Copy the user default profile problem profile

    I am trying to copy a user profile to the default profile for all users who log on will have the same parameters as the user.
    I used the built in tool copy of profile under System Properties > advanced > settings...
    For all copies fine except some program registry keys still point to the original profile rather than the newly created on logon profile.  This seems to work without problems under XP but in Vista it fails every time.
    Is there a new way to manage default profiles, that I don't know?

    Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

    CopyProfile Specifies if the default user usually stored under C:\Users\Default profile is replaced with the profile of the currently logged in user. You can use this parameter to copy the settings of user profile in all user accounts created on the destination computer.

    Use the following steps to define custom user profiles:

    Connect you as the user whose profile you can customize (for example, the built-in Administrator account).

    Customize the settings of the user profile of your choice.

    Set the CopyProfile to true.

    Run the command sysprep / generalize to copy the custom default user profile user profile settings.

    All subsequent user accounts created will have the customizations that you set. For more information about Sysprep, see the Sysprep technical reference in the Kit OPK (Windows OPK) user's Guide.

    This setting does not copy the profile of the built-in Administrator, unless the built-in administrator is the currently logged-on user.

    OK all of a sudden my laptop no longer works so I restart and when it asks me to enter my password as it does whenever I turn on the computer or restart I got this message today the USER PROFILE does NOT logon, PROFILE not CAN NOT BE CHARGE.     I have a Compaq presarion c500 c555em equipped with windows vista and for the last week, I was unable to connect. After the startup logon page appears with the only newspaper on my user profile option. When I enter my password correctly, a message appears to indicate:

    The user profile Service service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

    Looking at other posts, it seems to be a fix from Microsoft to this problem. However I can't access the internet in safe mode, and when I try to run the fix from a memory stick it does not open the fix.

    If I run the F11 key, I automatically lose everything on my c drive (ie the restore to factory settings) or that it will be possible to restore for some time before this error occurred? If so, could you give simple instructions on how to make or give a cross reference to where I can find this information. My apologies so simple, but I'm really bad with computers

    1. Delete the profile by using the computer properties dialog box. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, right-click computer, and then click Properties.
    2. Click change settings.
    3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
    4. Under user profiles, click settings.
    5. In the user profiles dialog box, select the profile that you want to remove, clickRemove, and then click OK.
    6. Click Start, type regedit in the box Start Search and press ENTER.
    7. Locate, and then expand the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    8. Right-click the SID that you want to remove and then click Remove.
    9. Log on to the computer and create a new profile

    You can try the following.

    Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 48 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

    Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

    Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

    If none of the options above are successful, try to run the steps in the guide on the following link.

    This showed on my computor someday on my connection, and I am the administrator. So now I can not change anything on computor or backups or add programs or delete. I did nothing before that happened. Any help would be appreciated. I tried safe mode, but that did not solve the problem. I need a simple solution that I'm not terrible with computors.
