Logon Windows XP takes a long time

We have a Tecra M3 that is running windows XP. It takes about 3 minutes to type the login name to the display of the desktop - the laptop is set up to connect to our domain and everything seems to get more and more slow to log in - if you leave it at the opening screen of session for about 5 minutes and then the connection goes by almost immediately.
What can be the problem?

Hello

It seems that too much software being loaded while Windows starts.
You must use a program like Adaware to clean the registry.

Good bye

  • Windows 7 takes a long time to stop

I installed a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit on one of my laptops about three months back. The laptop was brand new at the time. Everything went really smooth. But for the last week I am facing a problem, Windows takes an exceptionally long time to close. Whenever I try to close my laptop, the screen where it says that Windows is waiting for a program to stop with the option 'Force Shut Down'. The weird part is the place where it is supposed to show the program for which Windows expects in the end is empty. Absolutely no program is shown at any time. Even if I chose force closed, written with "Shut Down" screen comes up and the wheel will turn away and it takes about a minute to close. Sometimes, it takes as much as 5 to 8 minutes to stop. Previously he was not even a full 10 seconds to close.

My laptop is not obstructed by installed apps. Apps only I use is Eclipse, Android, Google Chrome, web browser emulator, VirtualBox to run a copy of Ubuntu and FlashGet to download from the internet.

All the drivers are installed correctly, as they ran all very well for the last three months. I have a paid Avast Anti-virus installed with paid Malware-bytes. I scan my laptop computer for viruses every two days and keep up-to-date. I keep my Windows updated through Windows Update. I have run the defragmentation of disk once a month. Even after that I encountered this problem, I ran a disk defragmentation. I also run CCleaner once a week. I have not yet installed any new apps until this problem appeared. I can't find something in maybe that could lead to this problem. The boot time for my laptop is really fast and normal. It feels sharp and fast while using it all the time. But the problem is whenever I try to turn it off.

    Computer laptop specifications:

    4 GB OF RAM

    HARD DRIVE 500 GB

    Processor Intel Core i3 3rd - Gen

Can anyone help me please with this problem? I'm frustrated by that.

  • Windows 7 takes a long time to load the desktop after login

    Hello

I am using windows 7 on my HP 530 laptop. My friend who installed and activated, but I think that it has installed the cracked version. After installation, it was really perfect. but after a while when I connected to the internet, some updates have been installed, and then when I logged in the windows, he invites me that you are using a pirated version or something like that (I don't know more actually). then I restored to my previous state and then everything was fine. After that I stopped the automatic updates, but these days my startup window is having a few problems. After entering the password, its taking a long time to load the office and its keep on the list "loading, please wait...". »

I'm so sick of that, also, I have to restart my laptop by pressing the power button, and after the reboot, it works fine. But I need someone to answerwhy its taking a long time to load the desktop...?

Also, please give me some advice to solve this problem, keep this idea in mind that my computer is virus free and got a good processor and RAM. I installed my windows in the C drive, and in my C drive only almost 2 GB of space is left (or almost). and there is no program running auto in msconfig, other than gtalk, Skype, etc.

I'll be really grateful if someone please give me the solution.

HP would have provided your preinstalled laptop with win, they would also have provided a way to recover your laptop to the specifications of the factory, either through discs of recovery or a hidden restore partition that you need to access in order to make recovery disks. How do you access a recovery partition is an option of HP, is not dealing with a MS - visit the HP website, specific to your model for more details on how.

If an illegal win7 version has been installed, or you have to buy version of win7 you need, or you need to recover your laptop provided that the factory provided, by doing so, you lose everything on the phone, if you have lost or that you can not do the restore cd and then telephone HP support they would usually provide records for a small fee.

  • Problem with Windows XP takes a long time to start

Hello, I am running Windows xp3 House. I have a problem with my firewall loading Windows. It takes about 2 minutes to load and it is that nothing works (Avira antivirus, Lynksys wireless monitor, etc.) until it starts. Sometimes it loads immediately, and then it's not? Weird. In a search, I found this, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823612 I ran it.

He stopped and not responding so I had to turn it off and restart it manually. When I did I got a pop up telling me to activate my Windows, 3 days to activate. I did nothing to mess with windows, it has been installed on my pc when I bought it used and I have no cd or manual as I assume that it is installed at the factory. I know not where the i386 file is and have never been able to actually identify because I'm familiar with it. If my pc becomes unusable because of that I won't be able to use it and I don't know what to do. I did a system restore and it did not work. How to activate Windows if I must / I have to? How can I stop it? I don't know what to do and I need help. Thank you

It is quite possible that all your problems are due to this dangerous program!

Of course, any software can have a phenomenon of chance but, I have been using Glary Utilities for years and have never had a single problem.

    To the OP

Malwarebytes Anti - Malware Version 1.60.0080

I guess you use Malwarebytes as a scanner at the request since the version you list is obsolete. There are several malware that can cause false activation. My advice to you is first, make sure your computer is not infected. To do this you must first update Malwarebytes and run a full scan. Once that is completed and you have deleted everything which, on the contrary, that was detected you should do the same with SuperAntispyware. View your results.

On another note, by the unlikely chance, you have the professional version of Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware know you can't run both at the same time by using the real-time protection. As long as you use one of them as an on-demand scanner, you're ok.

  • desktop computer takes a long time to load after uninstall of netware

Dear Pascal, recently, by chance, I installed the client service for Netware on my PC. He asked to restart the computer, and after reboot, logon screens became classic. I uninstalled netware by accessing the properties of LAN. I managed to restore logon screens using Microsoft resources available on the net. However, my PC now takes * for long time for the desktop icons and toolbar are displayed. I use Microsoft Windows XP Version 2002 SP3, Intel Core2Duo processor P8600 @2.40 Ghz with 2 GB of RAM on Lenovo Thinkpad R400. I understand that it is after uninstalling the netware client that my office is very very slow. Help me for a faster loading of the desktop computer. Best regards, Reba Shankar

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

You have reached the right forum. Try to solve this problem.

If I understand correctly, you have some performance issues on windows XP computer.

Let us try the following steps:

Method 1: Any installed program must be uninstalled from Add and remove programs. You can just remove shortcuts from other places like LAN properties.

Run the following fix - it to uninstall client services for Netware.

Solve problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Method 2: See the following article:

    Important notes:

    ·         Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

    ·         The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

    This nonsense!
The system should boot up quickly my laptop needs 30 seconds to start.
In my opinion, the system is screwed

In your case, I recommend to reinstall the system.
Did you create the recovery disk?
If this isn't the case, I think that detailed instructions should be placed in the user's manual.

After the recovery of disk has been created, restore the system, BUT save the data before doing so because the recovery disk would be to format the HARD drive and you lose data!

    Hello Duane,

For more clarity and response, I divided it in its own thread.

After your post, it seems that Vista 32 bit takes a long time to start and a very long time to stop.

What are the specifications of material of this machine?

We might want to try a clean boot and see how that affects the issue.
