• Looking for a better way to count the responses to the survey questions

  Hello all - I have created a survey for a site and now want to display the results to the admins of the site. I am trying to display the countdown - the number of times that a question has been answered in a certain way. I realize that I may need to build the investigation itself differently and how it stores data, but here is how it goes far.

  There are 10 questions, each with 4 options of radio button groups. The database table contains a column for each issue and stores the value of the selected option button. So it's pretty simple.

  Now on the results page, that it's the only way I can think to do, but there must be a better way. For each answer, I create a Recordset filtered on the issue and the value option, then display the total number of records. Which works great, but count each option, which means that 40 recordsets on the page - al simply determine "how many times was the Question 1, Option was selected and how many times has the Question 1, selected Option B and so on.»

  The only other thing I can think it maybe is a better way to count the occurrences of these values in the table is with PHP or in the SQL itself.  Or, perhaps, if the values themselves are entirely digital and follow a kind of model I can use a solution of math.

  Your problem is a bad design. You should have a separate line for each answer, not to separate the columns. It also makes the very rigid investigation. A simple design would include a few tables - a master of the investigation that stores the questions and response table that contains a foreign key to the question number in the master, the answer, as well as any other details you need to capture. You might get more elaborate, but it's essential. Your result page and then just be a single recordset with a simple query with a group by clause.

  What I try to do is write a query that finds Public synonyms without a target object. I came up with this, but I think there is a better way.

  I don't know exactly what 'better' means in this context (faster, easier to read, etc.), but I tend to use a NOT EXISTS

  I added the criteria DB_LINK to filter the public synonyms referring to objects in remote databases that obviously do not exist in the local DBA_OBJECTS.

  Honestly, I really looked everywhere for this.

  The problem is that, while tinkering in SQL Developer and knowing that in the spreadsheet I can just execute individual instructions by placing the cursor on the SQL statement I want to run I tried to do an INSERT query that would allow me to run an INSERT statement for... Well many inserts.

  I thought I could use a brand of continuation but nothing I've tried has worked.

  With a simple user interface (the user can check multiple checkboxes, radio buttons or find more stuff with text editboxes), I find myself with a lot many if statements wants to know what the user actually clicked/typed.

  For example. I've got 3 boxes - I then go ahead and write several statements such as if (1 & & 2 & & 3), if (! 1 & & 2 & & 3), etc. There are so many possible combinations so this will get rather overwhelming at any time. There must be a smarter way to do this?

  You cannot change to 64-bit, unless you do a clean install using a 64-bit disc. Your processor should be capable of running the 64-bit.

  ColdFusion is often used in conjunction with databases.  Know how to design and query a database is equally important, if not more, than to learn ColdFusion.  To this end, I heard good things about the books, design of database for mere mortals and Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes.  Study these books will kill some time while CF 9 books are written.

  If you've never programmed before, you'll learn the basics of programming.  This include if/else logic and loops.  You can do with coldfusion.  I'll start you with my most important fundamental.  Find out what your code is supposed to do before you start writing.

  If you don't know html, you will have to learn that also.  http://www.htmlgoodies.com/ is as good a site as any for it.

• Looking for Windows 7 since Windows updates for the better part of 2 days

  After the Dell with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 upgrade and buy and install again purchase the download of the software Empire Windows 7 os, I have been instructed to download all updates for 7.  In doing so, the computer just keeps looking (for the better part of 2 days).  All updates would be nonexistent after the upgrade.  There are no more updates to have, now that it is almost obsolete.  The person of Microsoft, with which I spoke told me to do this upgrade, and then I would be eligible to get 10 free Windows since the computer is able to handle.

  How would I go about testing to see if an ESX host is alive and ready to run operations against? for example I am deploying ESX hosts automatically from kickstarts, and once they are built and ready I must add to vCenter and a few other bits and bobs to them. Should I use Connect-VIServer and guess if it connects then all is right with the world, or is there a better way?

  so, I do a very short sequence right now, and I thought it would be quite interesting to have this short sequence have the same characteristics of the video quality from the beginning of the 1990s old Sega CD based games FMV (for example, I downloaded a clip here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ro17qv ). and there is a little more than a technological explanation here ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FMV_game#Description ) in the 3rd paragraph. reading by ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_cd#Reception ) it seems that the video quality are perhaps better, natively on the disc, but the system itself could not interpret that makes the quality of the video. (I was always a few assuned artifacts of compression to cram a full movement on a 500 MB cd-rom Disc... owner but game that still may have something to do with her 90-minute) or maybe they have just the video encoded like that, knowing that the console could not do anyway, and being more aware of budgeting in the ILO.

  I would have experimented posterize time to get the look of the bass-cadence; seems that more games, CD-ROM and video had frame rates of about 10 to 12 frames per second. Posterize time will allow you to do this quite easily.

  Instead of noise, try mosaic with a County block sent relatively high. Posterize to create the color banding. You may need to experiment with the order of effects and also the level to which they are applied. Effect of correction of color as the last step would be necessary to get the desaturation that you are probably looking for.

  Another way of packing would export your sequence using Microsoft AVI format with Microsoft video 1 or Microsoft RLE as your codec. For MS video 1, click the Codec settings and turn down the "time value" a bit and for the two codecs, decrease the quality slider. Set your pace of export for something that is 1/2 to 1/3 of your rate of original sequence. This should create a nice file schmeggy watching again, mix and match to get your desired, look but this is perhaps the best way to do it - these videos would have used codecs like this (Cinepak was popular, too).
