  • Satellite P10: The drive will not burn DVD

    Hope someone can help me,

I have a Toshiba Satellite P10 and have just received some photos software, burning
But my drive will not burn DVD, I try with discs DVD - RW which must work my laptop.
What is happening is when it comes of the burn on the part of the disk of the process he starts, but it fails.

I tried to burn it with Nero, but even if I burn OK on any CD discs with this software it will not work on DVD discs. It's really annoying because when the burning process it fails so that it makes the DVD - RW disc seem curupt and then my drive has problems mounting the disc to try a deletion once more.

I have the Nero log file failed
Done if it's any help to anyone.

    A big thank you Michael.

    Hello

What about different DVD media? Have you tested the media DVD-R or DVD + R common?
Have you tried different brands of DVD?
I can't give you a properly answer why the drive can't burn your DVD - RW, but to my knowledge not every media is supported by the player.
So I think you should check different DVDs.

  • Toshiba cd/dvd drive will not read or eject or anything like that!

Cd/dvd driver for my Toshiba laptop will not work. It lasted about a year, then he became gradually sporadic to read/write or ejection and by last winter, he stopped all together. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for it, and in Device Manager, it says that the device is functioning normally; every once in a blue moon it will suddenly eject, but then if you put something in nothing happens, even not with the original disks. With the repair utility, it says something like unreadable media, at best. I'm a little confused as to what is happening here, so, what steps should I take to verify if it is indeed the drive disc or something in the software?

  • DVD drive is not burning DVDs

    Help, please!

I bought a writer of CD/DVD Toshiba SD-R5372 a couple of months. I had it installed by a pc repair shop. When I gathered my computer that they don't give me not all discs pilot etc... for the product. They say now that they do not have the disks.
My problem is that I recently had to reformat my hard drive due to problems with viruses etc... Although windows argues that it recognizes my DVD burner and it plays DVDs fine, but it will not burn them. They tell me that it could be a driver problem and searched the site of Toshiba, in circles, but can't seem to find the drivers for my product.
    Can someone please help?

    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I know that it is not necessary to install a driver. The device should be recognized by the operating system. If there is a burning problem, I really put t think that this may be caused by wrong driver.
I put t know what media you can use with this camera, but please be careful about this. If you want to try to use Nero software of engraving. It is very easy to use and there is also a small tool called Nero info tool. You can use it to pick up all the info on your drive.

    Good bye

  • My CD/DVD drive will not appear in the Device Manager, but present in the BIOS.

DevCon didn't find it. It will not open even if I don't get to Device Manager and check for changes to the system. I deleted the registry entries upper and lower limit. Any other suggestions? For additional emphasis, he does not show even in the Manager of devices so I cannot restore or reinstall the drivers from there. It might also help that I use Vista Home Premium on a Compaq Presario F755us.

    Hello

    (1) does the BIOS see the main hard disk drive or a secondary hard drive?

    (2) remember to make changes to the computer before the show?

You know may not be not that most systems are set to show only the splash screen. If you go into the BIOS Setup, it should show the disks that have been detected on two primary and secondary IDE channels.

Note: the basic procedure to change the setting of the disk controller is to restart your computer and enter the system BIOS. The most common method is to press F2 to enter Setup, (another PC may use a different key). On the BIOS screen, find the setting that offers the AHCI, ATA or IDE and RAID. If the parameter is set to AHCI, change the setting to ATA. Restart the PC on the Windows installation disc

Warning: Incorrect settings in the system BIOS can cause your PC function incorrectly. If you are not familiar with the configuration of the BIOS of the system, you must contact the PC manufacturer for assistance.

Try the steps in the following article and check if it helps.

  • Optical drive will not burn

I saw that there are many other positions on this, and although I found others who had descriptions which were similar to mine, the patch did not work.

    My specs:

    Windows 7 64-bit SP1

    H8 HP desktop PC - 1360t

    My optical drive: DH16ACSHR

My driver for the optical drive is the cdrom.sys, the version of the file: 6.1.7601.17514, date 21/06/2006 driver

When I bought my computer, I did a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit. A ran all updates at once and drive perfectly serious. A few weeks later, it will not burn. I use Windows to burn simply .pdf files, and it gets to the point where it says 'burn', but after I click on burn the dialog box disappears. The drive makes noise and rotates the disk and writes data to it, but the dialog box never pops up or check the disk. It shows no more burn % completeness. If I try to remove the disc, the drive does not open. If I open with a paper clip, because the disk rotates, it sure is beating sounds and jams. When I open the drive and the drive, the drive clearly has written data to, but it cannot be read by other readers. It just says: the disc is no longer a Virgin, but I cannot see what is on it.

    I HAVE ALREADY TRIED:

    Remove/uninstall the driver

Checking the registry entry for the upper and lower entrances, THERE ARE NONE

Being run/scannow - Windows comes up saying that it could not find any problems, all right.

Update driver - he says I have the latest driver

Roll back the driver - he says that there is no driver installed previously

I had a HP Office before a different model and exactly the same thing happened then. When I first came to this other, it burns very well, so I thought that maybe it was a problem with the previous machine... but then after a few weeks it started doing the same thing.

I'm confused because when I look at the release date for the driver, it's super old, and he says it's the latest version... but Microsoft lists 50 updates to it at least between then and now, some of them as recently as June. I can't seem to find a way to download this driver common windows by itself and install it this way or the other.

I refuse to do a complete reinstall because I do not think that it will solve the problem more than temporarily. Within the company, it is the fourth total office with what has happened, and whenever we do a clean install, it works at first but then goes back to the same problem again.

Hoping someone has an idea where I can get a newer than 2006 for this device driver.

I ran through all the steps to burn a CD, however, but even if he goes through the process to show the progress that each song to a playlist is burned to disc, when the disc is supposed to be finalized... nothing on the disc when I try to read, and with the exception of iTunes or another program open when I place the CD in the drive to be played absolutely nothing happens.
I tried to burn music on a CD on the desktop of my sister, and it burned fine.

Then... It is not a problem with the discs.
When I took the disc to my sister had burned and placed in the disk drive on my laptop, it displays the tracks that had been burned and he played the music very well. This really threw me a loop for.
The laptop is only a year old and I can not burn anything.

Unfortunately, the warranty has expired. I am desperate to get this problem fixed. I don't know if he's going to burn a DVD, but I ruined 2 boxes of CD - R discs already. After disk supposedly burned music... even if no music has been burned... the disc is ruined and must be discarded.

I'm not terribly knowledgeable about aspects of warming of the computers, so I hope you can tell me in general terminology if you answer to my problem. I really hope someone out there can advise me as to what is happening or what I should do to fix the problem.

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Thank you.

    Hello

In your case, I recommend trying the different CD s from different manufacturers.
You should know that not all CD or DVD would be fully compatible with your internal CD/DVD drive.
In many cases no compatible CD or DVD would lead to exactly the same problems that you described in your post so trying different media!

In addition, I recommend checking the Toshiba driver for a CD/DVD drive update page s firmware.
As I m not wrong not the Satellite A200-AH3 belongs to the Canadian series and you should check the Canadian page for a new firmware. Maybe a new firmware is available

Last but not least, you can switch to other burning software I m using Nero I think it s the best applications for such purposes

  • DVD drive does not burn/erase RS - Satellite P100-347

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite p100-347 PSPA6E laptop computer. It has a DVD burner with model number: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N (firmware pt06). It has capabilities to burn any DVD (please see example using dvdino: http://tinyurl.com/2hbpqv).

However, I can't rewrite on my Maxell dvd + rw (1.4 x speed) dvd. whenever I go to a software application to erase a dvd that I wrote on, it says unrecognized format. For example, Nero says "this disc is not rewritable and therefore can not be deleted. Please insert a rewritable disc.

The disc is rewritable because it says on the cover and also it burns on my friends rewritable dvd burner :(

Please can anyone help:(je suis vraiment coincé et il serait beaucoup aprécié)

    Hello

As you probably know, readers don t support all kinds of media.
I mean not every CD - R, DVD - RW, CD + RW, DVD + RW, and so on, average is supported.
I can confirm these issues in my practical knowledge I tested for several months and many media, I use the TDK on my laptop and only CD or DVD media.
They work best with my drive...

But I'll give you a tip:
You should remove other software burning like sonic, etc if you use Nero. The joint software sometimes makes trouble.

  • HP Pavilion p7-1234: functional CD/DVD drive will not boot Clonezilla disk recognize

Have three HP p7 in small desktop running Win 7 64 bit. (Avast free version)

None of them will recognize a bootable Clonezilla ISO or Zip, whether on CD/DVD or USB.

    Measures already taken:

BIOS set to boot from CD/DVD

In turn the BIOS configured to boot from USB

Have used any compatible version of Clonezilla downloads based on my operating system and the processor, including the generic i686 ISO and Zip. (and makes bootable USB drive)

CD/DVD and USB function perfectly well otherwise. Able to access the other disks and USB media with no problems.

Also able to see the Clonezilla ISO when I look at the CD/DVD drive.

It starts simply what whether Clonezilla.

If someone has encountered this, I would like to share your experience.

    Thanks for your time.

    One rookie mistake.

    Problem:

Bad, I carved the Clonezilla ISO to CD/DVD disc.

    Solution:

    1. download the ISO Clonezilla appropriate for your computer, on your desktop.
    2. place the disc in the CD/DVD drive
    3. "right click" on the Clonezilla ISO on your desktop.
4 Select "Burn Image" and follow the default values.

Now you have a proper boot Clonezilla disk.

    Next:

    1. make sure the BIOS is set to CD/DVD is bootable.
    2. place Clonezilla disc in open the tray of the CD/DVD drive.
    3. restart the computer and close the CD/DVD tray
4 put your finger on "F9" key and now wherever the blue HP screen appears, press "F9".
    5. boot Menu loads.
    6. move arrows down to the first line indented under "ATAPI CD/DVD DRIVE...
SATA2 or SATA3 will be according to your system.
    7 hit ENTER.

    Clonezilla immediately, boots and loads.

I hope it works for you.

  • Qosmio G20 - CD/DVD drive does not burn

Select record is selected. Before the reconstruction, it all worked but did not.

I have nero has always worked well even with the sound stuff installed. So I reinstalled nero and nothing.
I tried to delete the upper and lower entrances in regedit, which is a common difficulty that offered among various forums but nothing again.

Sick as a parrot, so glad of any help here... Thank you

    Hello

    It's very strange
Have you tried to reinstall the OS again?
    Try this.

I recommend also to remove the CD/DVD drive Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Usually the operating system should recognize the drive of the CD/DVD device correctly and must reload the driver again.

I see you are using Nero burning ROM. I know sometimes the BONE can be confusing upward if several burning applications are installed.
So remove the sonic software and use only one. Nero.

    Best regards
