Looking for old Satellite Pro 2100 does not not for spare parts

Hello

I tried to replace my keyboard with a new (no problem, I could order it) on a Satellite Pro 2100.

Unfortunately the keyboard "cable" must be plugged into the motherboard using a little white girl 'thing' to keep the cable attached to the motherboard.

Unfortunately, I lost this small 'thing' white.

So I'm looking for an old Satellite Pro computer where I can take it to does not.

Or if somene has a better idea, please let me know at:

[email protected]

Thx a lot

I think you mean the PJ11 connector.
This PJ11 is placed on the motherboard and the flat keyboard cable must be connected to this connector.
I m not 100% sure but I think the PJ11 is mounted on the Board and I wonder how someone can lose it.

If you need a look of old Sat Pro in eBay. You should find something

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not possible to provide an accurate diagnosis. All you can do is to unplug the power plug, remove the battery and leave it for a while. Then press the power button and hold it for 15 or 20 seconds.
After doing this connect the power running and try to start again.

What happens when you do this?

  • Why Satellite Pro A300 does not start when you press the power button?

Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button. The situation is the following: when I press the power button is displayed the opening of Toshiba (Leading Innovation) and the disappers image quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. There is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation under. And nothing happens however long wait.

In order to get with the trial starting I then shut down the computer by pressing the power button until the computer turns off. ("The hard way to close")
Now, I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then, the computer starts normally with the photo to open Toshiba and after a few seconds, I wonder to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.

What should I do to get a normal departure procedure?

When the laptop starts normally (after choosing normal mode) stop your laptop properly using START > shut down option. Next launch should be normal.

When the OS is moving towards the low irregularly will always ask you how to start this new (secure or normal mode).
The same thing happen on my Satellite A300.

I entered the key from the sticker on the back of the computer. What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

    Why use this product key?

Firstly the Toshiba recovery image is already enabled and you don t need this key more activations.

Second, it's an OEM key and it will not work with other versions of Vista!

  • Satellite Pro 4230 - does not light

    Hello
    I have the following problem:

A Satellite Pro 4320 will not feed, DC-in light is on (green), with inserted (quite old) battery, the quickly flashes orange, (charge of compensation, according to manual) battery. If I press the power button / stop, DC-In goes off for half a second and turns on, that of all, nothing else happens.
The power supply is 15V 4Amps one correct, I load tested it works and provides all the power, according to the specifications. It does not matter if the battery is inserted or not.

Now the question: is this a battery problem or there is a problem with the entrails of laptops (internal DC converter)? Normally, your laptop should work on the included power supply.

    Best regards
    Nohab.

    Hey,.

    > Normally a laptop should work on the included power supply.
You're absolutely right, mate. All cell phones work with power supply only, theoretically, a battery is not necessary. That's only important if you want to work without power, otherwise laptop mobile working with power supply only. No battery is needed.

So my personal opinion it of a card mother dysfunction :(

  • Satellite Pro C650 - does not start

    Hey all,.

My Satellite Pro C650 boot not beyond a certain point. I tried to start in all modes different for example safe mode, mode of networking,

However this proved unsuccessful, the laptop freezes and I meet a constant and regular beep at the same point every time that I try to start. I even tried to start Linux 12.04 USB to see if it's hardware or software, unfortunately is the same, which means hardware failure.

The problem is that I don't know the bios beep codes and I can't understand what needs fixing.
I was hoping you could help me!

    Thanks :)

I think you need professional help with this problem. I don't know if your laptop is always guaranteed to be valid, but in my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and ask for help. They have special diagnostic tools and hardware malfunction can be detected and repaired.

    Hello

  • Cannot install Win 8 - Satellite Pro C660 does not detect HARD drive

    Hello

My HARD drive died, so I decided to upgrade my Satellite Pro C660 - 1 9 to an SSD.
I made a USB bootable with Win8 and starts very well.

The problem is that it does not detect my SSD, so I can proceed with the installation.
SSD appears in BIOS but not in Windows Installer.
He said that there is a missing driver.

I downloaded the AHCI drivers (XP, only ones available) and even in this case, after you have selected the only rider that appears, it says no new device found.

I tried to change the SATA from AHCI mode to compatibility mode and it's the same thing...

    What can I do?

    Thanks for the help.
    Best regards
    Bruno Moreira

More old Windows XP need a driver AHCI Intel's but I think this isn't a problem with SATA driver missing because as far as I know Windows 8 as well as Win 8.1 already contains the drivers to recognize the SSD or HARD disk drive.
In addition, the installation of the OS should be possible even if the driver would be added for this procedure, you must use the "compatibility" mode
As you say, the compatibility mode is not working too, so I think there is another problem.

However, page driver Toshiba also provides a driver Intel RST (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) (Windows 8 - updated) you can try to add during the installation of the OS.

But I m wondering if you would be able to install this Win 8 on common SATA HDD.
Have you tried to format the SSD using a different computer, then install Win 8?
    Give it a try.

  • Satellite Pro 480CDT does not start (even in BIOS)

    Hi all

I just hand on a Toshiba Satellite Pro 480CDT

I had to work with the original power supply (on an inverter plugged into my 12v cars I wasn't close to 240 v power outlet)

It worked very well, it boots into Windows 98 and I played with a few programs (Media Player and defragmentation)

I got it defragment for about 5 minutes, while charging via the car converter, however it froze and I had to hold the power button to restart.

When I tried to next turn on the screen remains empty, the hard drive is not turn and there is only the power LED and battery LED that lights up.

He let me press the function key that lights up the fn LED on top of the keyboard, but then after a few presses of lighting stops.

I opened the case and concluded that there are two batteries of the bios, the look at where they are plugged into the main Board, there is green type of corosion on the pins, I removed the plugs (who might add when it is very difficult to remove because of the coros), I cleaned the plugs (male & female) with a pen of WD40 and plugged in I got a voltmeter on them and they demonstrate tension and also show higher voltage when the power supply for laptop is connected, then it means they are load or at least tension.

After doing this I go up the laptop, but it still suffers from the same problem?

Please what could someone help or give me a little advice? My next event is the power supply Board but wanted to get some ideals before hand.

    Thanks in advance.

    Pete

    > after doing this I go up the laptop, but it suffers still from the same problem?

His pity to hear that your baby dead :(
But if we move to a diagnosis of material, I doubt someone here might be able to point in the right direction if his motherboard problem, it would be really difficult to solve this problem without using special tools, circuit diagram of motherboard and of course experience

I think you should check the modules memory vivid faulty ram could affect the laptop everything is just speculation

  • Satellite Pro L20 does not illuminate

Hope you can help. We have a 5 years satellite pro L20 who never gave a lot of days. It runs from Win XP, had an upgrade (crucial) memory to 2 GB and a new battery 4 years ago 4 years ago. 2 days ago, he simply left with the same noise you get when force a shutdown by holding the power button down. I tried to boot with no battery, just the sector and only on a charged battery. All to nothing does not.

I then read the button of power with the battery and removed sector I did after leaving it overnight. When I replaced the battery it started as usual and lasted 30 seconds before turning off again, and then he was dead. I have tried all combinations with the ram up to 1 stick or kidnapped and attempted to get the bios with the HDD outside as well. Still nothing.

I noticed that when I put the battery in 2 of the 3 flashes briefly, and now the button of pwer while pushing the battery causes a brief start 4 seconds.

Any ideas as to what this may be? I suspect that the hardware and software. Also, I tried a different power adapter, once again no results. It stays just off.

    Thanks for any help...

    Hello

I'm afraid it looks like a serious m hardware problem
My first idea was a malfunction of the RAM in such a case, you could replace and test the memory, but it seems that you have already tried

In my view there s something wrong with a motherboard or a part on the motherboard :(
In this case I n t think a replacement of the motherboard would be useful since this part is very expensive

  • Satellite Pro 6100 does not recognize the single battery external power

Whenever I have start Satellite Pro 6100 Win XP Pro with standard battery mounted and connected to the power supply computer laptop does not recognize the ext battery supply single supply and during 'start-up' goes into hibernation.

By pressing the power on button laptops "wake up" and indicate that the battery is empty or may not even decide when completely loaded, then says connect the station even if still connected, looking under Toshiba console when it runs shows running on battery when still in the power of the ext?

I have two batteries and both give the above symptoms even when I remove ext of laptop power always runs with power supply by battery but no light orange or green for battery.

    Hello

Is your AC adapter malfunctions or there is something wrong with the power supply to electronic s laptop.
In the first case you could purchase a new compatible AC adapter and could check if the laptop can run successfully.
The second possibility is a serious hardware problem, but in this case, the laptop must be checked by an authorized technician.

  • Satellite Pro 4260DVD does not detect WLAN CardBus

    Hello

I had a problem with my Satellite Pro 4200 PCMCIA, which worked very well with 2 cards different Ethernet but when I tried to use the WLAN, it could recognize only a SMC EZ Connect 2.4 GHz 11 Mbps Wireless Cardbus Adapter (SMC2635W). I'm now running on XP Service Pack 2 and the big question mark is that XP didn't detect all other cards except the SMC a WLAN.

I tried the Linksys Wireless-B 2.4 GHz 802. 11B (WPC11 ver.4) and the generic IEEE802.11b WLAN CardBus card 2.4 GHz/11 Mbps but XP has not yet detected the card. The power of the map light was off and blinked only one time that when I plug. Both cards worked great on my old friend laptop IBM, which is finally older than my laptop. I bought this laptop 6 years ago and never had any problems with the front PCMCIA.

I have worked on this issue with my friend for about a week and we have no idea if this is a hardware or software problem. I first thought that it might be the PCMCIA 16 bits problem but I think that the SMC card is also not the 16 a bit. I did update the BIOS but I don't think it will make all the differences, if I did. Please help me solve this problem that I'm dying to know what really happened. Thank you!

    See you soon,.

    Hello

Well, the 4200 Pro Satellite does not for me but I found something on the Sat Pro 4220. This laptop supports PC - Card16 - bit PCMCIA and CardBus 32-bit (2 x PCMCIA type II) or 1 x PCMCIA type III
In this case I don't think that it? s a matter of 16 bits.

What you can do is to try to change the settings in the BIOS.
In the "configuration" box, you can set the configuration of the device to "devices".
In addition, in the "PC card" box, you can change the mode of the controller "CCIP compatible" or ' cardbus/16-bit' or 'automatic selection '.

Try all the settings. Maybe one of them will be working.

  • Satellite Pro L40 does not start

When I turn on my Satellite Pro L40 it shows me a screen asking me to start to repair windows or start windows normally.
When you choose the option it brings me to the same screen.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you very much

    Salvation will be

For me, it looks like the OS installed was confused for no apparent reason
If you are not able to boot into the Windows XP operating system and if the repair option doesn t helps to start in safe mode I n t see any other possibility as to boot from the Toshiba restore CD and reinstall the OS again!

But note; boot from the restore CD will format the whole HARD drive and you will lose all files stored on the HARD drive. ?

It is a drastic procedure but in my eyes he's the only one who could allows to solve this problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro 460 does not start with the new drive in

I recently received a Satellite Pro 460, but he had no hard drive.
It starts great without a disc in but as soon as I put a new hard drive in it does not start.

I thought that it might be again a hard drive, so I pulled out my old Toshiba Satellite with my old drive to work, and yet, it does not start.

Someone has any ideas why this is and what I can do about it

I think that you can not do much. Satellite pro 460 CDT, for example, comes with 2 GB of HARD drive. If you try to get it work with similar HDD without success, it may be defective IDE port on the motherboard.

What HARD drive you are trying to use on this good old classic?
