Looking to run 3 monitors on my MacPro 2009

I have an Early 2009 Mac Pro with a Quadro FX 4800 running two monitors, but I would like to add a third monitor.

I didn't find the OEM card yet, but I think it's a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 and was originally plugged into the slot that the Quadro now (if the memories are good...). I hope she has updated the soon and remained intact, will it work in one of the PCI Express x 4 slots while the Quadro remains in the x 16 slot?

Thank you very much

Yes, I have a PC 5770 card in slot 1 and the GT 120 stock in the slot and one card SSD PCle blade into the Groove 4 in my MP 2009

The two slot 1 and 2 are 16

    Update (November 14, 2011): there is a happy ending at the bottom of this thread. In a Word, I needed to upgrade my 700W power and install a ~ XFX HD 6870 (AMD/ATI) $ 200 video card, connect 2 monitors to 6870's connectors 2 mini DisplayPort and connect the other 2 monitors to 6870's DVI connectors.

    In the original post, I went to get a second GTS 250 but I was able to do it with a single card.

    Original message:

    I have already noticed that my system (HP Pavilion Elite e9180f desktop PC) supports dual Nvidia GTS 250 in the thread next where I'm looking for advice for upgrading my system to 4 monitors:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-monitors-and-video/how-do-I-upgrade-my-Pavilion-to-4-monitors/t...

    I need to buy a second card Nvidia GTS 250, but they are hard to find.

    The 250 GTS that came with the PC has 1 GB or RAM on it. I've only been able to find a 250 GTS with 512 MB of RAM above. Both cards will co-exist on my system if I can run 4 monitors?

    I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and order 2 new cards as the GTS 250 that I find can take up to two weeks to get.

    Can anyone recommend a modern replacement model for the GTS 250 (1 GB RAM) I can buy 2 and then installed in my machine (Elite e9180f) with a minimum of hassle?

    I ordered (and received) a new PSU POWER 750 watt and 3 additional monitors to 24 "(et un stand)."

    Thank you

    Because I'm a spread for the penalty, I went ahead and ordered the XFX HD 6870 and returned the XFX HD 6850.

    Only after you have installed the 6870 I realized this video card requires 2 PCI express power connectors. Of course, my stock PSU only has a PCI express slot so I went down to Staples and bought a power supply 700W (a RetailPlus PS700W). I installed myself (without the help of a technician that I had seen what the technician had to do when I hired one to try to replace the stock power supply with a Corsair 750W) and it worked. It was last Thursday and the machine works since then.

    The 3 HP ZR24w monitors I ordered came with a regular DisplayPort cable but I needed 2 Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. I have ordered them to my place of local parts (OEM Express) and they came today.

    I plugged praying them, and then they played.

    So to get 4 monitors running a single card, I had to put my diet to 700 watts, install a XFX HD 6870 (it's a Radeon ATI/AMD with 2 x connectors DVI, an HDMI connector and mini 2 DisplayPort connectors) and order 3 HP ZR24w monitors. 2 monitors should be connected via the adapter mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cables and the other 2 are connected via DVI.

    From what I can tell, HD 68 x series video cards can drive only 2 DVI monitors at a time and if you need at least 2 aswell able DisplayPort monitors.

  • Can I hurt my graphics card by running two monitors?

    I use a 15 Mid-2010 "MacBook Pro with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB. I usually run two monitors from 15 "when I'm using photoshop or to CAD drafting, but I'm considering upgrading to a 27" of 2560 x 1440 monitor. Is there a risk of damage to my computer or the graphics card by doing this? I would like a larger screen to work, but he also takes my computer to last a little longer and can't hurt it. Thank you!

    Is it possible to run two monitors on a 8570w without a docking station. Connect a monitor to the VGA port and the other to display port.

    I was able to get this to work. My 8570w has an Amd over-pants 7700, don't know if that matters. One is connected VGA other Displayport. The port monitor must have a custom resolution defined in the over-pants Control Panel. except that it works perfectly. More laptop screen no. Docking Station 2 24 inch Dell.

    And thanks for the quick reply Provost.

  • I can run two monitors on a p2-1394 desktop with windows 8?

    My wife recently started home work to do at home, and she asked me if we could run two monitors.  I thought it was easier to ask first to go buy one and then knowledge I can not. Thank you!

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP p2-1394. Based on the specifications, it has a VGA output (analog) and DVI - D output (digital only). You should be able to use a digital DVI - D monitor and a VGA analog monitor at the same time.

    (2) - DVI - D (digital only) (3) - VGA (analog only)

  • Running 3 monitors, 2 card Radeon 5450 and 1 port of the motherboard

    I have a p7-1154 HP which has two DVI ports on the motherboard, but I needed to run a third monitor so I installed a HP 5450 PCI Radeon card that has a DVI, HDMI and VGA port, but I can use only 2 of them at the time - or DVI, VGA or HDMI, and VGA. Motherboard ports don't work at all now, so I'm in the same place that I was before I even bought the video card. I was under the impression that I would be able to use existing DVI ports on the motherboard as well as DVI/HDMI and VGA video card port together... How can I get there?

    Thank you very mucho.

    My friend, welcome to the forum.

    Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.  If you look at the section titled "Integrated graphics", you will notice that it says the following: * integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.  Therefore, there is no way to use a third-party monitor.

    Of course, you need not to install a card in a laptop computer that it should support another monitor.

    You may need to update your display and video driver

    This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

    each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.

    For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
    Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
    video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
    cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
    This will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
    own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

    Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
    (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
    updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
    because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
    pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • New HP Envy - looking for a temp monitoring program

    Hello. I have a new HP Envy 17 and have found that it runs hot.  I was looking around and I don't see this is a problem for the desire.

    I have purchase a new cooling fan and it got here today.  I had another one, but the fan was not powerful enough for this computer and I wanted something more grand.  This one is current alternative and the fan can really be cranked up, although it is very strong if you do.

    In any case, I'm looking for a recommendation for a free program to monitor the tempeorature so that I can ovoid overheating.  Any recommendations?  It would also be useful to know what it is supposed to work in.  There the processor Intel Core i7 2630qm inside.

    You don't have, just try it, it won't hurt anything to try, either he finds the temperature sensor, or it doesn't.

    If not sure if this is a bug or if the program was designed like that, but when I select the indoor walking or exercise running, the watch does not monitor my heart rate (I tried with a chest strap (Polar) and optical sensor). How it exactly calculate calories burned if you don't measure my HR? Just by the time and distance? Especially for me who works on a maximum incline on treadmill.

  • Anyone WHO is running 2 monitors from lightning on a Mac Mini (Windows 7)?

    Did someone drive actually two screens Thunderbolt out of a Mac Mini (late 2014, complete the form below) in bootcamp with Windows 7?  Apple says you can do (see below), I couldn't, and I'm pretty technically competent.  Windows 7 in Bootcamp runs absolutely perfectly, I used all the latest drivers and drivers from Bootcamp OK/set of tools for my machine (Apple publishes sets of specific tools for each machine).  Windows just absolutely does not see the second monitor Thunderbolt, I went through each option of control panel in Windows 7.  To do this, of course, works very well under OS X.  I am currently using Parallels to work around the problem, but the decline in performance is much too tight, and I need to run Windows directly in the training camp with two monitors.  Help, please.

    Are the two monitors of TB Garland or connect directly to the Mini?

  • Looking good 4 k monitor for end of 2013 Mac Pro

    I just ordered and received the LG 4 k monitors but when comparing them with the Apple thunderbolt display monitor they were still close in brightness or color rendering. They had an orange very little the cast to them. They were the 31MU97C-B models and I could not find any reviews on them. They were actually newer and cheaper than the model 31MU97 (without the C - B).

    So I sent them back. They were only 900 each, shipped. Is there anyone in the sound of my voice who can tell me a good 4 k monitor about the same price comparable to the Thunderbolt display, but in 4K? I've searched high and low.

    Thanks in advance

    James

    Take a look at BenQ monitors. I use a pair of 24 '' those on my Mac Pro 12-core gaming and they are great. I got them to Fry. mine are not K 4s, but you could do a search and check BenQ 4 K specifications and perhaps find a store with some on display to check. Mine give identical color between the 2, so their QC is decent. (I got a pair of ViewSonics never able to calibrate to match!) They make the ViewsSonics (attached to my older PowerMac G5 and sat next to my Mac pro) look really weak and pale on the best settings of ViewSonic.

    http://4k.com/monitor/a-review-of-the-benq-bl3201ph-32-ips-led-4k-monitor-with-3 2-led-lit-screen inches / is a review on the BenQ 32 "4K that Amazon sells for slightly less than $900. Be sure to watch the 3201PH against the PT. 3210 (who sell the FRY and even Wal-Mart) I don't think that the PT would be like good video. (he does not mention 4K on his form and sells for hundreds less.)

  • can I restrict the cursor to 1 screen when running two monitors?

    Hello

    Not sure if it is a question of Labview or more a matter of windows. I intend to build a Labview application that will use the dual display. We'll have one touch screen on the other a standard screen. I would like to use a mouse to change the normal display settings but want to stop the cursor to run the touchscreen. I know that I can make the invisible cursor of any utility on the touchscreen but ideally, so I would the cursor to be bound within the limits of the normal monitor the cursor does not get lost as such.

    Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

  • It can run multiple monitors affect T40 and t42

    Hello

    I was wondering if running a s-video rca cable using 2 monitors may adversely affect my ThinkPad t40 and t42. Because they both recently broken on me. Movies or television on their part running is all that I really use these computers. Could I have overheated or overclocked video card because they will turn on for a while then we'll fizzle out until his black or blue and the other just black after a few minutes. Could someone answer my question and tell me what I could do to fix?

    Thanks, I appreciate your time

    Well I did for awhile and it was OK.

  • Full screen running on monitors with different proportions

    I'm trying to run a program in full-screen on a projector. It works fine on my computer, but the background image appears tense when I run it on a projector with a different aspect ratio. How can I run it to avoid this?

    Here's what the code looks like:
    @Override
         public void start(Stage primaryStage)
         {
              this.PrimaryStage = primaryStage;
              this.PrimaryStage.setFullScreen(true);
              ...
    .. who runs with this CSS file:
    #background{
        -fx-background-image: url("background-full.png");
        -fx-background-repeat: stretch;
        -fx-background-position: center center;
        -fx-background-size: auto 100%;
        -fx-background-color: black;
    }

    Do not stretch the repetition
    -fx-background-repeat: no-repeat;

    AND

    -fx-background-size: cover;
    The scale of the image, while maintaining its intrinsic aspect ratio (if any), the smaller such times its width and its height can completely cover the background positioning area.

    Or

    -fx-background-size: contain;
    Scale the image, while maintaining its intrinsic aspect ratio (if any), to the larger size, such as times its width and its height can fit inside the background positioning area.

    Contain the will provide some sort of effect box letter like watching an old TV 4:3 to widescreen 16:9 TV show.
    Cover fills the screen with the image clip bug some of the image if the screen and the image of elongation do not match.
