looking to upgrade a hp p6813w graphics card... suggestions?

So I have an I have a HP p6813w. Looks like I have a PCIex16 slot I can upgrade graphics with; I was wondering if anyone ahd any suggestions?  The game that will probably be 'pushing' the required graphics to me is Skyrim; and I would play on one another reasonable setting(Medium-ish) that as long as he can manipulate graphs of RIFT, I should be fine.  Looking around here a bit it seems I also have to upgrade my diet to manage a better graphics card; Is there a lot of benefits to go with a power supply 700 watt on a 500 or 600, or that depends more on what graphics card I have?

Hi jwittie,

The length and width of a new video card is important.  The wider modern video cards will cover the PCI-E slot which is adjacent to the PCI-E x 16 slot.  It is best to measure parallel with the PCI-E x 16 slot to see how much room you have and then look at potential video card to see they they will be fit.

Skyrim will need a big video card depending on the resolution of the screen and game settings.  Look at these specifications.

The NVIDIA GTX 560, or 560 TI should work.  The AMD Radeon 6850 will also do the job, but again the length before your purchase.

A good quality PSU like Corsair CX500 which is a boon to $27 will work for video cards above.

    Hi guys

I have a HP-Pavilion VD012AA-ABU m9753uk with OS windows 7 ulitmate and I want to upgrade my graphics card to a Nvidia GTX 560Ti and I was wondering if this card would hold on my motherboard. I know that the motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 slot and be ok 1, but I don't know that I need to look at, I know there are several variants such as ATX and others because I have only a 300 watt power supply, I need to spend at least a power of 500 watts power however im don't know what connectors my computer has to power supply and what kind you provide and also is here a chance to overcharge me my other components such as my processor or CPU due to the increase in power as I currently have a graphics card Nvidia GT 220 installed if that helps at all

    Hello

Consult this publication document for more information.  Open your PC and measurement.  The NVIDIA 560 TI type is 9 "long.

I don't see a problem with the NVIDIA TI 560 and the m9753uk.

You will need a power of 500 watts.  The Corsair CX500 is an excellent choice.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y - upgrade power supply and graphics card?

You just bought a new computer that I am generally satisfied, but it is not fit to play top games I like (for example Metro 2033).  I was looking into upgrading my graphics card and discovered that I have a 300W power supply.

I heard that HP computers are notorious for difficulties in upgrading equipment thanks to the compact design the area.  What power supply and graphics card I should be able to use?  Information links and price would be very appreciated.

I use my LG HDTV 32 "as a monitor and my current graphics card allows me to connect using an HDMI cable and play movies blu - ray via my PC.  I want to keep this feature.

    Thanks for any help!

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

    1. Specifications
    2. Total power - important
    3. amperage 12 + v - important
    4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
    5. Warranty
    6. I7 and SLI ready
    7. Efficiency rating
    8. Cost
    9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths

www.Newegg.com has many choices of power supplies.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake...

The amount of amperage + 12 volts is important when choosing a video card.  Depending on the size of the Cabinet from HP a 550-600 watt PSU should be plenty.  The NVIDIA GT 460 should be a good choice.

  • HP Pavilion 15: Can I upgrade my GTX 970 graphics card or 980

Hi I want to upgrade my graphics card for my laptop for GTX 970 m I currently have a Radeon graphics card and Intel HD Graphics can I put my graphics?

I have a HP Pavilion 15 touch screen, CPU is Intel Core i5 4200u and Windows 8

My graphics card is AMD Radeon 8670 M 1 GB DDR3 and I want to update if I can improve my graphics card?

Replace that? It is a solid unit welded together. There is nothing to remove and replace it with something else, that's what I'm trying to say. How do you imagine this replacement is going to happen? A standard desktop video card won't slip into a laptop so what kind of thing are thinking you that you can stick in there?

    Riki, welcome to the forum.

The motherboard has a slot machine video PCI Express MXM.  The video cards that correspond to this slot machine are normally manufactured specifically for OEMs such as HP.  Therefore, they are extremely hard to find.  It is doubtful that an upgrade would take you considerable increase performance.  You can find these cards on ebay.  Here are the specs for the video card that works:

    * Built-in video is not available if a graphics card is installed.

As mentioned above, if NO NVIDIA card now, you cannot upgrade video card because the Intel chip is soldered to the motherboard.

  • Upgrade graphics card suggestions

Hi all - looking for a few tips:

HP Slimline s5-1015 t, Win 7 Desktop, 8 RAM, 2.6 GHz - graphics performance is the slowest and I would check with a better card

NEW - trying to find my post a couple of weeks, and maybe this isn't the way to do a follow-up.

I just got a new GelForce GT520 graphics card, as suggested, so imagine my surprise when I (finally) open the case and there is no slot where you want to insert the new card (or pull the old one).  In fact, everything is directly out of the motherboard and nothing can be added or replaced except RAM.

OK, my mistake for not searching first.  I will send back.  But for those who have this same HP desktop computer, it's a lesson to learn.

    Thank you

If it is the graphics card, the called program then what graphics card do I need to manage video of Davinci Resolve installation work?

And, for a WAG response, (guess wild donkey), I need will need more than 6 GB of RAM for the DaVinci Resolve progtram?

  • Can I upgrade the processor or graphics card to my G42-371br?

I've already updated the memory, but I think it's quite different

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02627955.PDF

Can be found in Chapter 1, s page 2 & 3 support AMD processors.

The only way to update the video is to replace the motherboard with a GPU better.

Looking at the specifications of your laptop, it seems that you already have the best graphics solution available for this model.

There is a Board with the video of 6370 and 1 GB of memory (512 MB has yours), but who would certainly be worth hundreds of dollars that it would cost to replace the Board of Directors.

  • Can I upgrade my hp dv7 graphics card a Nividia GeForce GTX 690?

Hello. I currently have the HP dv7-3085dx entertainment laptop. I'm looking to make it a portable game. The games I want to perform are versions 3, Skyrim and Far Cry 3. I'm looking for a GeForce GTX 690 to replace my GeForce GT 230 m. I wanted to know if this is possible and otherwise, what I can do to get my portable gaming conditions.

    Thank you

    Hello

Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

    • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
    • Need new card system (can be),
    • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
    • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
    • Cost of the work.
    • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

    I hope this helps.
