lose internet connection after some time

I connect to the internet through a router.  I'll be online for a while and then I will lose my internet connection. Resolve what I have to go to the task bar, click on the Internet icon (it is said that I am still connected, but I'm not), disconnect and reconnect.  From this point, I can pick up right where I left navigation.  I don't have to reopen a new browser.

How can I solve this in all the time so this doesn't continue to happen?  My ISP says that there is no problem at their end.

I connect to the internet through a router.

Then, how the router connect to the Internet?   For example if you use a modem with PPP dial-up there is a kind of effect of idle time-out.   Then, so check with your ISP all you must check with your router diagnostics to see if it is what is happening.   Your symptom is certainly independent of your browser, but can also be independent of your link (LAN) and OS (unknown).

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion Elite e9105z CTO Office and migrated from Win XP to Vista Home Premium x 64, with a NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller.  Whenever I come off standby or standby mode, I lose my Internet connection and have to restart my system or run Windows Network Diagnostics to repair the network adapter settings.

I tried several remedies available on Internet; but unfortunately, nothing has resulted in a permanent solution.  I contacted my service provider ISP (Mediacom) wonder if it was / is a problem with the firmware used to my cable modem SBV5220 support (for example, incompatibility with Vista) and they said there is no.  So far, I have:

    1. Reinstalled NIC driver.
    2. Power options controlled and reset with USB CDC.
    3. Apply the update for Windows Vista (default gateway setting is lost) for x 64 systems (KB933872) - response that update does not apply to the system.
    4. Reset the IP configuration via the Cmd line.
    5. Tab power, unchecked the box that shuts down the adapter then power save comes into play.

Access the computer several times a day and having to reset Internet connections became extremely aggravating.  I hope there is a solution.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Back from a 3 week stay, during which my office has been extinguished, my local internet connection would come is no longer active when he came out of hibernation.  The without line worked, but the local connection would not work unless physically, I unplugged the cable from the router (Netgear) and reinserted it.

After several days of frustration, I went into the Manager of devices, unchecked ethernet optional adapter "allow the computer to turn off this device."
This seems to have cleared up the problem, at least until now...

  • PC running XP will lose internet connection after inactivity

I leave my PC on 24 hours two days a week because of an automatic backup. C a day, drive D the next. Twice recently, I came home and found my connection Internet is down in itself. Restart caused the PC to hang during startup, just after that I see the screen that gives me an option on what kind of shoe I want and the blue screen is the background of the Windows login box. I get to the blue screen and that's it. Have to completely stop the PC and then the boot works as well as the automatic connection to the Internet. Here's what I found in the event viewer that wasn't a standard briefing note, but I do not know how to interpret the messages...

  • WRT320N - loss of internet connection after redirect port 80 and 443

    Hello

I have a problem with my new WRT320N. When I activate the port forwarding on my local server (ports 80 and 443), after a while I completely lose internet connection on all my computers connected to the router (wifi and lan computers). The router itself can ping and trace any Internet site through diagnostics to Web administration. When I turn off and click on save changes button, my internet connection works immediately again. I have the latest firmware installed and I tried to reset the router several times and set it manually since the beginning.

My previously detained WRP400 has been configured to redirect these exactly the same ports and everything worked perfectly. Could someone advise me where could be a mistake? Thank you.

I solved it. There was a problem with the combination of the service 'DHCP Reservation"of the router and client DHCP of Ubuntu. I disabled "Booking DHCP" and set the IP settings manually in the Ubuntu computer and now it works perfectly

  • Difficulty of internet connection after Security Tool Virus

My mothers computer caught the security tool virus.  I finally had to reload Windows XP and Windows XP now works, but I can't connect wirelessly to the internet.  She got ahead through Linksys.  When I look under the modem it says connection cable to cable.  I'm assuming I erased the other information that I need to connect on the internet.  Any help will be appreciated.

Here are some ideas of the fallout that occurs in your Internet settings after some infections have been deleted and how set things straight.

Depending on how you removed the infection (the removal procedure is well documented), sometimes there are a few other things to do later.

Some malware knows that you will try to get in the Internet to try to find a hair removal method if it adjusts things on your system to prevent you to do so.  Even if you delete the malware using several analytical tools, tools cannot tell if the Internet settings have been modified by malicious software or put you that on purpose so he leaves the only parameters (and your system cannot connect).

The malware hope that you will not be able to understand these things and give up and just reinstall your XP, do an install repair or by using a Restore Point.  Sometimes it breaks these things too, but you can usually remedy without the use of one of these methds (which aren't really patches at all)...

If you have reinstalled XP, this may not apply to your situation, but it would be a good start:

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your disabled Internet access.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to launch the Internet Properties Control Panel, choose connections, LAN settings.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically

Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If it still does not work, check your settings are still in place after a restart and then release and renewal IP of your network device configuration settings.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window, and then type the following commands:

    ipconfig/release
    ipconfig / renew
    output

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If this does not work, follow these steps:

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

  • WRT160N LOSES INTERNET CONNECTIVITY

I have a wrt160n connected to a Motorola ATT DSL Modem.I only have intermittent internet connectivity. He worked awhile then lose internet connectivity on my XP computer plugged directly on the router, as well as on my laptop vista home wireless. I worked twice with the Linksys support and followed their suggestions of reconfiguration, but the problem persists. The modem ip address is 192.168.1.254. Linksys said to change the default address of the router to 10.10.1.1... I did, but it didn't fix it. Some of the messages on the forum said to change it to 192.168.2.1. I tried and still intermitttent only connectivity. I can bypass the router and go directly to xp destop and it runs rock solid, so the problem is somewhere in the settings of the router. I'm about to renounce it and sell it on ebay and buy an ATT modem/router combo. The Ant is my last resort. Another thing, I downloaded and installed the latest version of the firmware 2.0.02 11.

I'm under the router with DHCP. I use my own SSID with personal WPA2, AES encryption. Linksys support had me change the standard channel to 2,452 GHZ and disable any filtering of the internet. Now, I use an IP from 192.168.2.1.

I am courious to see if anyone has had this router to work on a DSL ATT modem. Also, anyone have any suggestions on where I go from here?

    Thank you

If you have version V2 of this router, you can downgrade the firmware.  See here:

I lost the internet connection after acceptance of your latest updates. How can I cancel the updates?

    Debbie

How do you know that the loss of your internet connection has nothing to do with the Windows updates? You must find the reason for the loss of the connection.

How do you connect? Is a wired or wireless with a modem or a router? If a router is the router shared with another computer and this computer can connect to the internet? You need to determine if the problem is a fault on your computer or a failure to connect to your internet access provider?

    What error messages are reported?

    Event Viewer reports

    1. normally, when an error occurs on your computer looking in Event Viewer should be your starting point to find a solution. More related system errors are recorded and get an exact copy of the relevant report is important. Unfortunately, is not easy to understand reports and most of the users computer need help with their interpretation. I have to say later interpretation.

2 Event Viewer includes three main newspapers of Windows. Here's the Application, security, and system. For purposes of troubleshooting system is by far the most important.

    3. to access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click the Date and time column header to sort. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

    4. a tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. Select the Details tab and check the box in front of the XML view. Click the copy button to place a copy in the Clipboard and close Event Viewer. Now start your message and paste it into the body of the message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    5. He cautioned against three types of reports, information, and reports errors. In most situations, it is the error reports that offer the best information but sometimes WARNING reports provide useful clues.

    6. all reports have stamps date and hour and when troubleshooting, it is important to focus on the latest reports. Reports of studies from the point when the computer is started, and then check if a similar report appeared in the previous session. If errors do not repeat investigation as to why they happen is wasted effort.

    7. in the individual reports the most important information is the event ID and Source such as these help when looking for help on the internet. The description is just as important and copy the exact text to use as search criteria greatly helps achieve better results when using Google. Not paraphrase descriptions when other people asking for help.
