Lose internet when I turn off printer (WUSB600N)

I'm having a very strange problem.  When I turn off my Canon MX850 printer connected USB, I lose my internet connection.  I get this error message in my event viewer:

Event type: WARNING
Event source: Dhcp
Event category: no
Event ID: 1009
Date: 11/03/2009
Time: 12:11:55
Description:
A network error has occurred when trying to send a message. The error code is: a blocking operation was interrupted by a call to WSACancelBlockingCall.

I am running Windows XP pro SP3 and my WUSB600N adapter is connected wireless to a Linksys WRT600N router.

Someone has ideas of how solve this problem?

Thank you!

I solved this by uninstalling Linksys Wireless Network Monitor.  I no longer disconnect from the internet when I turn off a device USB or Firewire (ipod, canon mx850 printer, external hard drive).  However, by using the Automatic Configuration of Windows isn't a perfect solution.  The downside is that I frequently 2-5 second freeze ups in World of Warcraft with WZC, especially in combat.  So my solution is to stop the automatic configuration service once I started and have an internet connection.  This is quite annoying!

Have you tried a different usb cable? It could be that the usb cable is grounded on which could be a short circuit in the usb cable, or the printer port. Although it is also possible that this is the USB controller on the motherboard of your computer to try another cable is fixed not try with another computer if possible. If the other computer does not have any problems, then it's HP desktop computer. When you do that, you are out of my field of expertise friend . • My selected themes disappear when I turned off the computer, I have to add them when I turn the computer back on. I made sure that it is set to allow the modules.

Just in the last week or so, this has happened. I had several themes to select from, all of them are listed is no longer in the list with the exception of the default theme of list drop-down appearance. Yesterday I made I'm fixed to allow add-ons. It was the same story this morning, the appearance was back to default and my themes had disappeared. If I stay connected to the internet my themes remain the same. I have no problem with the preview of themes they will not just stay put when I turn off my computer. This is the only problem I have encountered since I've been using Firefox.

You will need to check the line user_pref ("lightweightThemes.usedThemes", < pref data >) to see is something changed in the data stores installed light themes and compare this line in the current prefs.js file with the corresponding line in the backup of the prefs.js.

  • Photosmart CN216A turn off printer and on the new WINDOWS 7

message error "ink system failure please turn power off, then on again.

I have wait 60 seconds and get the same message over and over again.

    Hello edarsa,

Here is the link to the troubleshooting article for the problem you are experiencing.

An alphanumeric Code (example: ' 0 x 'r' C2...) ") or 'Ink system failure' Error Message is displayed on the front panel when printing

The troubleshooting steps would be determined by a few factors with the printer.

    1 has a removable printhead

    2. what ink it uses

Try the following article, and then through the proper path to try the mentioned troubleshooting steps.

One of the steps you mentioned seems half valid. When you turn off the printer, you want to ensure you disconnect everything and then to wait 60 seconds. By disconnecting all that you allow the priner to discharge completely before returning. If the printer is connected during this time there is always a current electricity flowing to the machine.

I remember reading somewhere on the Apple site in recent years on some models of Chinese iPhone with this capability. No other iPhones display this and there is no way to enable it. I can't find the article which includes this information.

  • Spoolsv.exe has 99% of the cpu when I turned off the printer after printing.

    Original title: spoolsv.

I recently installed a new printer Lexmark Pro715.  Everything works fine, no problems with printing, but as soon as I put off the printer after printing, spoolsv.exe takes 99% CPU.  If I leave the printer in mode 'sleep', the problem is, but I do not often print, I prefer to turn off completely.  There is nothing in the print queue, everything else seems normal.  I can use the Task Manager to stop it, but this isn't a good solution in the long term.  I run MS Update and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, with no effect.  It's driving me crazy.  I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

From what I've read on the Internet about the print spooler using 99 to 100%, Norton is also sometimes involved as a contributing factor to a runaway print spooler for some people (where my request).

IIRC, people would set their Norton to start a scan and when it was made, the print spooler has run amok at 100%:

"Because I have Norton Antivirus, do a system scan every Friday night that I happened to see that the value SPOOLSV. EXE is using almost 100% of the CPU of the morning Saturday. It's the only time that it happens, so I simply stop the process in the SERVICES window, and life is good. I don't know why Norton Antivirus it triggers during the scanning process that I couldn't find anything on the Symantec relating to this site. »

If the problem resurfaces surface, using abduction special tools on their website, you can uninstall your Norton and view the appearance of things without him - you can always reinstall again once, right?

I disagree with Norton in general for its CPU and memory hogging and known interference with other XP processes (such as the restoration of the system), so I'd keep which in mind if the problem returns.

A few years ago, I used to like Norton correct, but will never go back or recommend it.  Microsoft Security Essentials with it's lower overhead and footprint and some regular on the analyses at the request of the MBAM and SAS should hold your own system based on your surfing habits.  Your system will reward you with an improvement in the overall performance of the system as well.

I can tell you that no single AV tool seems to know everyting so it is safe to use several respectable scanning tools.  Norton certainly doesn't know everything.
